Customers have always come to Millwork 2000 since the business started in 1992.
For years it was architects and contractors who wanted the woodworking skills of Dan Privitera and John McClellan. Then it was Kemper Cabinets, a well-known manufacturer and the second-largest cabinetmaker in the country. Kemper is known for quality cabinets.
«They researched us,» Privitera said. «They were looking for someone to work and promote their semi-custom made cabinets. And John and I have been cabinetmakers for 35 years each.»
Now Millwork offers Kemper Cabinets. As an authorized dealer, Privitera and McClellan can make adjustments or modifications to a customer’s cabinets locally in their Lincoln Avenue showroom and workshop. People can visit Millwork 2000, which is now open to the public for the first time in the 12 years the business has been in the town.
Privitera said Millwork can custom-make cabinets, meeting customers requests for colors and sizes. Recently, the shop had to create a cabinet with a lazy susan to fit in an 8-inch space. People can also come to Millwork for repairs and changes, instead of going to Kemper.
Millwork also offers other woodcrafted items, such as staircases, bars, doors and living rooms. The showroom will feature more displays, although it’ll be nothing fancy, Privitera said. Really the mission is to get the word out, that Millwork 2000 is open to all, not just professionals.
«We just want people to know we’re here,» Privitera said.
