Econo Lodge Inn & Suites

I had some trouble deciding between one and two stars because I have been in worse hotel rooms but not in first world countries. And it’s not like it’s some little motel in the middle of nowhere — it’s a part of a huge chain that allegedly has some kind of standards.
Nobody was there at check-​in initially. Eventually somebody showed up and during check-​in a guest called and he basically was of no use and then after hanging up the phone was joking about her unreasonable request and how whiney those darn customers are.
The non-​smoking room reeked of smoke. The bathroom fan didn’t work at all which is a shame because it would have helped draw outside air through the room. The toilet seat had a big crack. There was a big dent in the wall like somebody had punched it. The sheets had cigarette burns. The carpet was filthy.
The binder with instructions and all that was filled with various guest comments scrawled on various pages including various obscenities.
On the plus side it was kind of cool seeing a TV that old. Cathode ray tube and all that.
I can only assume they got a real deal on the half-​size pillows.
The thing that gets me is the place looks very nice from the outside. It’s the kind of place that’ll paint the outside and take lots of pictures but spend a dime on the inside? HAHAHAHA

The rooms are decent rooms and if it weren’t for the breakfast, I would have rated this higher. –1 star for the worst breakfast I’ve seen in a while. I showed up with over an hour left of breakfast. The selection consisted of Cheerios, old looking wheat bread slices and waffles. I don’t expect much from a 50−60/night hotel but come on guys, add a muffin or something to make it a little more interesting! Plus, why the secure entry to guard the wheat bread?
The other –1 star is for the heater not working properly, the old school TV, setting my wake up call for the wrong time and most importantly calling me to remind me that I’m checking out after I was given a late checkout earlier in the morning. That just comes off as rude or your staff didn’t communicate properly that I requested (and was granted) a late checkout.
Now for the positive: refrigerator and microwave came in handy when everything nearby closes so early. Room was neat and having a couch to sit on was very nice. Check in guy was friendly so that’s always a plus.
I’d probably still come back to this hotel in the future because of the positives. Only if I need to stay in Lodi though. Otherwise I’d probably pick a Stockton Choice Hotel.

Needed a room at midnight Choice Hotels directed us to Econo Lodge in Lodi, it was a room and that was it. I am glad I stayed here so I know I don’t want to stay here again.

The only reason we picked this place is cuz of the wifi is not just n the lobby. Well, on this Saturday night it would not connect! Not worth the price… but I guess it depends on your expectations. Very limited soaps. And right next door is a club blasting their music. During the day is a place that sells exotic birds. Non-​hD tv. Ironing board and iron. Desk, love seat and coffee table. Dresser. Coffee maker… blah. Get what you need minus the promised wifi.

So my friend booked us a room here after a day of sky diving. It’s super hot in California and the reason we picked this establishment on
is because it has a pool and jacuzzi. Weal the jacuzzi was cold and the pool was filthy. I went to the front desk to talk to Omar how was of no help. I informed him that the room and the pool were not in good condition, and that my friend has been spending the past 30 min cleaning the pool to make it useable. Omar was extremely rude. He did not care and stated and I quote «cleaning the pool is not my job.» My friend dictated screw it we have paid $ 85 for this pool and we are going to swim. So he will clean it since the staff defiantly was not going to. Another 30 min went by of my friend with a pool net. And about the time he finished Omar came out with a chain lock and said the pool is closed!

20 min after my review I found this little critter in my room.

We stay at choice hotel properties because they have standards. This motel falls short in several areas. The ventilator in the bathroom does not work and is hanging from the ceiling by one screw. The tv has poor reception on all channels. It has extremely limited channel selection with msnbc news and similar but no Fox News.
The bed and room were ok but well worn although having a sofa instead of the second bed hardly makes it a suite when it is still a motel size six size room.

This place is filthy. The carpet is beyond dirty and even the ceiling is mottled where it has been painted over here and there either from water stains, graffiti or both. The security bar on the door is dangling from a couple of loose screws. Scary place.

while visiting Lodi for my sister’s baby shower. WORST DECISION EVER!
My name was the only name on the reservation so I was rushing to get to the hotel first. My pregnant sister and friend were dropping me at the hotel since the rest of my party was in a different car. When I went to check in the girl took my ID and gave me a key to the room. When I walked into the room my boyfriend was sitting on the bed… «Uhm, how did you get in?»
SHE GAVE HIM A KEY TO MY ROOM!!! What if he was a freak waiting for someone to walk into the room!!!
I was extremely irritated but shrugged it off and started bringing our bags in. We were going to go out to dinner so one car was only necessary for the evening. Everyone was helping haul our bags in and then the phone rings
«You are only allowed 3 people in the room!»
«Yes, I know. They are helping with our bags. We are about to go to dinner»
«Only 3 people are allowed in the room. They cannot be in there. I asked you when you checked in how many people and you said 3, now there is 5»

We went down there and the girl was completely disrespectful and called us liars. She had no remorse for wrongfully letting someone into the room. A swift call to
took care of the problem since you are not allowed to give starngers a room key. Duh?!
I wanted to give my family space during our stay, but we ended up crashing at her house. AVOID!

Stayed here for a girls weekend. The rooms are very clean and area is very safe. The price was so reasonable for our 2 night stay. Great customer service. Loved the staff and how they were so helpful that it made our weekend stress free. Definitely recommending this place to stay at.

I booked a non-​smoking 1 king bed room 1 month in advance. After I checked in and went to my room, I found that it was 2 queen bed room and it smelled like an ashtray. I called back to the reception thinking there was a mistake, but I was told that it was the only room available at the moment. Interestingly, the receptionist failed to mention this fact during my check in.
Also I found a dried grape on the floor in my room! Can you imagine how a wrinkled brown grape looks in the semi-​darkness on the floor?
Ew!
Stay away from this place.
