Green Apple Cleaners

i discovered this place picks up and delivers to my apt in Fort Lee! I hadn’t done pick-​up/​delivery service dry cleaning before — it’s amazing… saves me so much valuable time because i’m always in the office during «normal business hours»
I leave my dry cleaning out for pick-​up Tuesday and get it back Friday without fail… feels like Christmas every Friday — seriously
Coats and jackets are at a very reasonable price… and be environmentally friendly! Erryone is doing it.
I had my holiday party dress tailored here. Was measured Tuesday, had it back the same Thursday (they dropped it off knowing my party was on a Friday, to get it to me a day before normal delivery on Fridays). I like that when it comes to alterations they’d rather be safe, not sorry. They went through the trouble of hemming without actually cutting the bottom of my dress off yet, and made sure it was the perfect length. Also they had better ideas than my own in terms of how to fit and cover my full leg brace in the dress without throwing off the silhouette elegance of the dress.
I don’t think i’d ever go anywhere else again.

Cracked and melted the buttons on my $ 225 Theory shirts. Said they would fix them — then picked them up, returned them still broken with shirts still dirty, and CHARGED ME! I used to love this dry cleaner — now I would rather wash my suits in gasoline than waste my time for sloppy, offensive, damaging work. Avoid.

This was really some of the worst customer service I’ve every experienced. I dropped of two blankets on a Thursday and asked twice when they would be ready because I needed them for the following week, both times I was told Monday. Well, Monday rolls around and so does Tuesday– and nothing comes in. Finally on Wednesday one blanket came in, but the other was nowhere to be found. I requested that the manager of my local branch (in Kips Bay, Manhattan) call me three times, and I got no response. When I called the NJ location, they said they would look for it and never called me back. Finally the second blanket came in on Friday. I was not offered a refund or a comp despite asking for it. This was ridiculous. Still have not received a call back from the manager.
The only reason I didn’t give one star was because 1: the local representatives in Kips Bay were really nice and tried to help me out, and 2: the blankets were clean
Overall– terrible customer service and will not use again.

I’ve been having Green Apple do my dry cleaning for years and am extremely happy with their service. Staff is helpful and courteous.

I wanted to like this place more since the owner is super nice and they’re environmentally conscious. However, they don’t do a spectacular job on the clothes and they’re a bit pricey. They’ll open the door for you when they’re closed if they’re around to let you get your stuff — but only if the owner is actually there.
Plus whoever is driving their little car around drives like a moron! (no, I didn’t factor this into the review, but they really need to stop cutting people off on Essex St.)
