Porters Pub

The food was good and they have a decent variety of craft beers and local wines. The atmosphere overall is a bit too loud and the service was slightly slow, overall a decent experience for a Friday night.

My boyfriend and I have recently started coming here more frequently. We love their variety of beer and they have great bar eats.

We visited last minute on a Sunday night, the menu had a nice selection of food and sides. We both had wraps I the Caesar wrap and he the sirloin wrap both delicious. That is what got the four stars… However … When we arrived there were maybe two other tables and the waitress lacked attentiveness… She seemed very «in her own little world» as a waitress I don’t expect exceptional service just the basics. As we sat there and ate more people started arriving and I could understand then being ignored but honestly when it was empty and full I felt ignored by the waitress, went without water and napkins pretty much the whole meal. Luckily the owner was present and able to track down the waitress for our tag. Will we return? Yes, it was great food and environment but we will pray for another waitress and probably turn around if not.

This place is great! We had a family group of 7 and had planned to go to Smack Pie next door. The pizza place was so crowded with no table large enough for our group and it was freezing, too cold to sit outside. So, we went next door to Porter Pub and I’m so glad we did.
The pub was also quite busy with most of the tables taken, but the waitperson told us she could work it out for us. Within minutes she had a table at the back and enough chairs for all of us. The atmosphere is very nice. Clean and open, and it smells really really good. The tables are set apart far enough so you aren’t hearing your neighbors conversation. The service was amazing– the waitress was friendly, efficient, sweet, funny and fast. Couldn’t have been better.
Then… the food. We would have been happy with regular pub food, but this was extraordinary. Two of us had tri tip and agreed it was the best we’d ever had. The meat was savory and tender, no fat, and the taste was excellent. The pastrami on swirled rye was reportedly very good– again, the meat tender and lean with tremendous taste. A burger was much praised. Fish taco rated good marks. The sweet potato fries were pretty amazing. Everyone loved their food all around. Its obvious beer is highly regarded here and they seem to have something for every taste. Served perfectly cold with knowledge & a smile by our wonderful waitress.
The prices were very reasonable here as well.
We were all just so happy to find Porters Pub. We’ll be back for sure!

Husband had blue cheese burger and I had a steak type sandwich with coleslaw and fries. The woman who took our order was very friendly and personable. She even chatted with our two boys (2 and 4 year old) and was very accommodating with our order for them. It was a good experience. The place was clean and not too loud. We went at lunch time and were seated promptly. I think the woman may have been one of the owners by the way she really seemed to care about us as customers. I just wish I could remember her name. We will be back again.
Update: my husband and I went here again without kids. It was on his lunch break so we were short on time. The woman helping us was very conscientious that we had limited time. We weren’t very hungry so we split a meal which I would think would be annoying since it’s less $ for the business. The woman was really friendly about it and didn’t seem to mind. We can’t wait to return:)

I wasn’t very impressed by the menu or the food (I think it’s average), but I’d still love to give this place a 4-​star review. The server was so accommodating, attentive, friendly and very professional!
We were a big group of 13 people, and we still asked separately bills. She handled it very professionally with no mistake. She answered to all the questions with confidence, and the answers were very appropriate. She checked with us on additional orders very timely. We all had very pleasant time there. Thank you!

I was excited before entering and left disgruntled and confused. There’s an identity crisis going on with this place and I hope management recognizes it before they become another failed Lodi business. It’s says ‘Pub’ on the outside so I came in for some Jameson. Oh wait, they don’t serve real booze, it’s watered down. Found this out after my woman got a so called margaritas. It was an awful one at that. I have a light beer. Then I am approached «Are you ready to order?» That’s not how you approach someone in a ‘Pub’. You ask «Would you like to order any food tonight». Gosh, it’s not a pub, it’s not a restaurant, it’s not a bar. It’s a wanna be sports bar that’s brightly lit selling pretentious wine and beer. It felt like a bar in an airport. I feel bad for the wonderful staff not knowing how to act. This place is a sports restaurant that sells beer and wine. Too many TV’s with sports and nothing else. Shame on you guys. Get your concept together as you have a great spot in town. We had to go to Lodi Beer Company (Which is a restaurant) to enjoy a couple drinks. Never again…

Great place with great food my wife and I share each other’s plate so we can get a better sample of thier menu. I had the French Dip and she had a Burger and we swapped ½ of my French Dip for ½ of her Burger and guess what we both agreed the food was GREAT!

Went here for lunch with 2 other friends and we sat outside. Was greeted right away and got our drinks out. Waitress was very nice and allowed us to split our sandwich and salad between 2 people. We did suggest to them to have a half salad & sandwich combo & she agreed many ppl has asked. Hopefully they will soon! Food did take a while to come out but it was during lunch hour.

My husband and I visited Porters on Tuesday afternoon. Amazing Amazing food.
We split the cheesesteak sandwich. It was great. Sweet potato fries and the chipotle dipping sauce was good. No issues with service. Everyone in the restaurant was nice and accommodating. We will be back.

I love this place! Super good Wraps, burgers, and salads. The garlic fries are AMAZING by the way! Tons of beer to choose from and the atmosphere is awesome usually lots of people, sports on televisions, and outside is family friendly

I came to Porter’s Pub based on a friend’s recommendation. I sat at the bar and it took close to 10 min to get some service. The waitress passed several times saying she’ll be right with me. It was crowded at the time.
Once I ordered food came quickly and was fresh off the grill. I had a burger with sweet potato fries. Quality was excellent but I thought burger was a little under seasoned and the bun fell apart. I don’t mind a messy burger if it’s good. This was good. The sweet potato fries were excellent.
The waitress never came by to check on me until I was done. I would say prices are a little on the high side for the area but you do get quality food.
Overall, I think the service could be better but the food made up for it. I would come back and give it another try.

We recently moved to Lodi and have been looking into finding good places to go out to eat and very happy we stumbled upon this place!
My husband and I visited this location on a Monday afternoon and had a great experience! There was a little bit of a wait but the food was AMAZING and well worth the wait. The hubby had «The Heat» burger and I had the Cheesesteak sandwich. Both were excellent and I loved the sweet potato fries! Our server was very attentive and even took the time to show special attention to our little one which was really sweet. We will be coming back with friends next time!

Cool little sports bar to hit up after work to have a cold one. I enjoy the homemade sangria, it really hits the spot on a hot day. I especially like that they have Giants games on when its game day.

After wine tasting, a few girlfriends and I decided to order some beers and appetizers with a Groupon I recently bought. Food was average, but what was disappointing was our service.
Although our party was a bit tipsy from wine tasting, I still was aware of what I ordered. I remember specially pointing to a certain beer we wanted and ordered that. Good thing my friend is a beer enthusiast, so she could tell the difference! When we asked, the waitress told us that they were out of the one we wanted and she thought I was pointing to the one above. The beer was good, but not what we ordered.
I also ordered a basket of bread that didn’t come out and was charged for it. How long does it take for bread to be served? And $ 10? When we were finished with our meal and was presented the bill, she asked if we still wanted the bread.
…no, we already finished eating.
But of course that part was taken off our bill and we were off on our merry olé’way and will probably never return.

Found a Groupon for this place while in the area, so we (my mom, my sister, nephew and I) decided to give it a try for lunch.
It was a little after 1:00, and nearly empty. Our server was very polite, friendly, and quick with our drinks (water & tea). Our food however, left much to be desired. We all had burgers, the nephew had chicken strips from the kids menu. I had ordered mine «as rare as I can get it», my mom medium rare. My sister requested no tomato, no onion. It took almost 30 minutes for our food to arrive and the only other table in there was eating before we were seated-​sooooo… why such a long wait???
To top it off, my mom’s burger was about medium, mine almost well, and my sister’s came with the tomatoes she had ordered without-​which I took because the ones on mine were end pieces (who serves the butt of a tomato?!?). No seasoning on the burgers, and uneven amounts of fries (my nephew got more fries with his «kids» meal than any of us adults).
Overall we were less than impressed and thankful we hadn’t paid full price. Pretty sure we won’t return.

So I took my Mom out for lunch on her 70^th birthday, we chose this place as we walked by. We first walked in and the sign said wait to be seated, we did a couple of ladies were behind us and the server sat them down first.
We ordered 3 Azada tacos, a cranberry Salad with Chicken a blue Burger and my wife had a Cobb Salad.
It took over 30 minutes to get our food the ladies that got there after we did finished eating before we got our Food.
To make things worse my burger that I had asked for Medium was well cooked. The garlic fry’s were pretty good.
My wife said her chicken on the Salad was super Dry and no Flavor. my Dad said the Tacos were not very good. I checked in with Unilocal and they offered a 10% discount. I showed the waitress and she asked me to click that I used the coupon which I did and that she would apply it to the check. Than the manger came out and said that it was not valid and did not give us the discount.
Who are these people that this owner hired, does he not teach them the Rule of ten, for one good experience you tell 1 person, for 1 bad experience you tell 10.
Will never come back.

I love the staff here! They are super nice, helpful and remember you pretty quick. They always suggest sampling beers if you aren’t sure.
I get the blue cheese burger every time. Not the best blue cheese burger I’ve ever had but its pretty darn good. I really hope they expand the menu because this is my new favorite spot.

First visit & we will be back. Great food, great service, reasonable prices. I had the Corned Beef sandwich with a side of fruit ($ 1 to substitute) + a Firestone 805 beer. Only $ 5 less $ 1 during Happy Hour. My wife had the Turkey/​cranberry/​cream cheese spread sandwich with a side of fruit. We both really enjoyed our food. Our server Jennifer was very attentive and friendly.

I loved their customer service it was friendly they checked up on you and would gladly help you out if your not sure what to order because i guarantee you that you’ll have a hard time deciding what you want the menu is far and wide delicious! (Plus a great full bar) staff is extremely friendly. I got a beer, but didn’t know they had bloody Mary’s (my favorite!) I asked him about the Bloody Mary’s and he promptly offered to take back the beer and get me a bacon bloody Mary! Awesome!
