It is impossible to get quality stuff in Cache valley. Compared to the low quality of food or grocery that is available here, this is quite OK. If you have an option to buy honey or honey products from stores in a developed area, then this is not an option. In fact, honey at the Trader Joe’s at Salt Lake is better than this. However, if only Cache valley is considered, this is perhaps a less bad option compared to other options in the area.

Cox Honeyland is an unexpectedly fun stop right on the side of Highway 89. We came after reading about their dirt cheap honey sticks online and spent quite a bit of time checking out the merchandise. The Cox storefront is a white building that faces the highway. On entering, we were greeted by a room full of home décor, most of it on the tacky side. They have these neat grandmother clocks that open do interesting stuff on the hour. In another room are the honey treats, candy, and fudge. There was a sample table set up so that we could try all the flavors of honey. Finally, an elongated room in back sells more home decorations, Beanie Babies, Burt’s Bees products, local fruit syrups, and more honey products. This is where the honey sticks were located, and they weren’t dirt cheap after all, just 3/$ 1.00. We also picked up some of the raspberry syrup which was enjoyable on our pancakes this morning. The back room also has a clear bee hive where you can observe hundreds of bees at work. It may have been the neatest part of the whole store. If you find yourself in Cache Valley and love fresh honey, Cox Honeyland & Gifts is definitely worth checking out. The beehive alone is worth the visit!
