I used to have stop over at airport near Soul Korea, so I had some experience with Korean Food, I order Bulgogi. it was standard quality. similar to one I had at airport. my wife is more expert on Korean Food, she said this restaurant is actually pretty good. Well it is sort of dirty, owner do not speak English, but I think this restaurant is for mostly Korean students who attend university there, so I guess they made their restaurant similar to one in Korea, not meant to be Americanized.

If you just go in knowing that the owner doesn’t speak much English you can enjoy the food. We loved all of it and have been there a few times. It’s the only Korean I’ve had aside from cupbop but it’s tasty and seems authentic and they have the best kalbi ribs I’ve ever had! It’s better than all the other Asian places in town that all serve the same food. Give it a try!

Wow, I will never go to this market again. Not only was it overpriced but the gentleman running the place was beyond joyless, he was a jerk. I am not at all surprised there wasn’t a soul in the market or the restaurant. I walked out in a mild state of shock at what an a-hole the guy was. I wish I could give it zero stars, or less. I’m mystified how they stay in business.

Market is dirty, small and overpriced. Its downright joyless, like they’re not even trying. And it has only Korean and a few Japanese products. It’d be nice if they included other Asian products as well, so one could buy curries or fish sauce. One entire cooler was filled with rotting, filth-covered cardboard. I think. I sure didn’t look twice. Owner will stare you down suspiciously from the restaurant doorway while you browse. $ 14 bucks for one pack of potstickers! Ohhh no thank you. And many items lack pricing so the owner can charge whatever he wants. This place should be closed.

The worst of the worst. Been here couple years ago. Never came back again. The owner was a a-hole. Period. He should go back to school and get some education on how to treat customers. I would rather have dinner with Kim Jong un than seeing his shi&@y and«where-is-my-tips» and«why-you-are-still-eating» face. Food was okay. Not impressive at all. For that, I give you one star.

Why this place is not more busy, I do not know. Maybe partially because it’s never busy, and people feel weird being the lone patron in a restaurant. Whatever though, the food is good. Like, I’ve never been to Korea so I can’t verify if it’s «authentic,» but I can verify that it was authentically delicious and comforting and satisfying and perfect for a cold day and really honestly just as quality as basically anything else in Logan. The interior is pretty damn similar to a billion other hole-in-the-wall East Asian restaurants – it’s not some hip Mediterranean fusion lounge, and it’s not going to compliment any egos. Fortunately my taste buds are not affected by my eyesight and I don’t eat there for the ambience. No, the server does not kiss your ass while you dine. This does not bother me as I have no desire for another human being whose job is to carry food to treat me like Logan Utah royalty. Just try it, ya know?

The Korean BBQ and market– My first authentic Korean food experience. I must say, the quality of the food just tasted authentic, not to mention delicious. The pork plate I ordered had juicy, tender meat and the rice complimented it deliciously. I would gladly come back to eat more if it wasn’t for one thing– the service. You walk into the restaurant to be greeted by a tattered looking interior. The whole place just feels dusty and old. This doesn’t bother me as much as it would for other people, so it didn’t affect my experience whatsoever. The room is filled with cheap looking tables and chairs.(Cheap is definitely not the word to describe the quality of the food, I might add. Don’t be thrown off by this.) From the back of the room, an older Korean man pops out from behind a counter and swiftly walks up to greet you. His greeting is a little less than what we Americans would call«nice,» however. Not saying a word, he points to the table he wants you to be seated at and throws the menus on top carelessly. He doesn’t even check to see if you’re all nice and comfortable, he just goes straight back to his stakeout spot behind the register counter and clicks his pen or whatever to keep himself busy. I decided on what I wanted to order once I opened up the menu. The BBQ lunch special. Specials are always great, right? That seemed like the right thing to order. Apparently not, because while I was midway through stating what I would like to order, the Korean man cut me off with a sharp declination. «No. Not today!» His jarring tone took me by surprise, and I had to wait a couple of seconds before I could regain my senses and register what had happened. Apparently, the lunch special was not available today for some stupid reason. Perhaps the business is going downhill so they don’t have the budget to be giving special deals to customers? I have no idea. I ordered the pork plate instead, as I mentioned above. The man showed no sign that he even acknowledged my order. No nod, no «okay,» nothing whatsoever. This kind of behavior continued throughout our dining experience. It felt like from behind the register counter, the man was staring you down like a hawk while you eat, ready to stab you with a chopstick if you make one wrong move. I was even afraid to say anything to my fellow diner, as if being too loud would set off the man’s internal alarm. The whole thing was quite an experience, I must say. The food was great, the service was a little less than desirable, but overall I really did enjoy going there to see what authentic Korean food tasted like. As well as the people… One last thing. If you want your child to learn how everything in the world isn’t all fine and dandy, and sometimes there can be bad and vile places, this is definitely the place for you. Happy dining!

This restaurant has declined in quality and service. Not that the service was ever great, but the owner was efficient and the food was good. I’ve stopped coming here because of the cleanliness. Too much dust and broken down equipment in the market put me off for good.

I am 100% new to Korean cuisine, but really loved my experience at Korean Barbeque & Market on Friday night. The restaurant itself was pleasantly run down, and the grumpy waiter I’ve read so much about did NOT disappoint. Already planning my next trip! My friend, who knows what he’s doing, ordered two entrees for us to share. I’m not sure of the technical names, but one was beef with rice noodles, and the other was spicy chicken. Both dishes were excellent. Portion sizes were large and we left feeling very full. I checked out the market while I was waiting for the food, and it seemed well stocked. The only thing of interest for me was the Asian candy, which they had a lot of, and I bought a bunch. Though the waiter was terse(or maybe just painfully shy?) to the point of rudeness, the service was efficient. Our food made it out in good time, and we never wanted for anything at the table. Outgoing servers are a dime a dozen, and for that reason, I enjoyed it. Korean Barbeque & Market is one of Logan’s better restaurants for sure!

As mentioned by other Unilocalers, this little restaurant is worn and tattered. To me it doesnt look like any money has been reinvested in improvements… for many years. Certainly, there must be reasons to explain why not, but lack of business is screaming loud & clear. So, upon arrival at 12:15…the lunch hour, right… No one here eating, absolutely … NOONE. The owner(elderly man) seated me and dropped the menu off on the table. Not a word said. The menu, just as worn & tattered as the restaurant, had a couple pages of various foods. When he returned, I ordered what I thought was a spicy chicken & beef soup… no acknowledgement as to what I was ordering… Well, what arrived was not what I thought that I was ordering… but it was still tasty. I didnt say anything about a mix up. My conversations were one sided… he only said one thing to me…$ 10.98. Worth coming back here for a meal… lunch or dinner… Sure, the food I tasted was good, but lacking everything else… it wont be anytime soon that I do return. Sorry…“Courtesies”…make a difference.

Worst service ever. This guy is a A$$$$. Food was wet microwaved beef. Server never smiled, nor did he even greet us. He looked pissed off. I have never had such crap service. I won’t ever go back. When I paid I calmly told the man, «you have terrible service.» He asked«what?» I repeated, «you have bad service, I will never come back.» He then replied«Get out!» I told him, «Don’t worry I won’t come back.» Then went down while I was signing the receipt and I just couldn’t bring myself to leave a tip. This guy is ambivalent, doesn’t care and indifferent, it was as if we seriously bugged him for walking in and giving him $ 32.00 for 2 plates of food. I won’t ever go back, then again I’m probably not welcome.

I love this place. I stopped at the Asian Market and bought a few supplies I need to make potstickers then ate dinner there on a Friday night. I am a vegan so my options were VERY limited. However, got the tofu and veggie spicy soup(I can’t remember the Korean name for the soup) and it was so so good. I have to go back for more. The serving size was great, I had enough to take home for a second meal. I know so many people have mentioned having a problem with the«Soup Natzi» guy who works there, I don’t. Sure he doesn’t talk a lot, is very monotone, and doesn’t exactly act willing to answer questions. But I don’t care. Who knows maybe he doesn’t speak great English and is shy. I think everyone should give this place at least one try. Why eat burgers and fries your whole life when there is so much more out there?

it’s a mystery why the owner is in the food business. the food is just OK. I’d go back every other month because I love Korean food. but his attitude is so bad it can be hard to enjoy yourself. he can be pretty hostile.

The BEST place for Korean food in Logan. Yes, it’s the only place for Korean in Logan, but that being said, its still good. The restaurant doesn’t look like much inside or out, but they make some tasty grub and its some of the most exotic food you can get in Logan. My favorite: Jeyuk Bokkum — a spicy pork dish. The JapJae and Bibimbap are also good, but the bibimbap doesn’t come with a stone bowl option. The side dishes are yummy as well, although not as varied as ones at other korean restaurants. Except for the Kalbi, the prices are pretty reasonable. All in all: not a bad place to get your kimchi on. After your meal, stop by the attached korean market and get some Choco Boy for dessert. Yum yum yum!

Like other commenters said the owner’s attitude was really interesting. Even though i speak korean i just heard him saying a single word with no exaggeration. However what made husband and me surprise was the food. The food was way better than expected. We had spicy squid fried rice and kimchi soup. They are more delicious than any other restaurants in NJ korea town(my neighbor) have. I didn’t search Unilocal this time and i feel lucky since i usually follow the Unilocal’s review.

The first time I took my wife here we walked out as soon as our drinks came. Shocked by the owner completely ignoring us. After learning this was common and to be compared with the Seinfeld«Soup Nazi», we went back fully expecting to be treated poorly. Guess what — we were! To top it off the food wasn’t great — and some of it was plain bad. The place needs a complete makeover, a waiter/waitress to replace the owner, lowered pricing, and some quality cooking. I’ve had good Korean food — this is not it.

okay… I agree with the assessment of the charm of the owner. But I expected worse, so that was okay. I got the bimbop(don’t know how to say„ spell) Last time I had this(in Cinncinati) and the way I think it is supposed to be is in a hot pot that makes the rice all crunchy. Well, it was in an aluminum bowl. Not quite the same thing, but still tasty. I go to Logan about 6 – 8 times per year, and would probably get take out again. My colleague and I were the only ones in the restaurant and if I hadn’t seen the grandma in the back, I’d be more suspicious that is was a front for an illegal operation.

If you like servers who don’t say much and good soup, then this is the place. Even if you prefer overly friendly or affectionate servers I still say you should try this place especially if you are looking for something different. This place has really good soups. The kind of soup you would expect to come from grandma’s kitchen. My recommendation is the Kimchi soup, however I am sure there are other good items in the menu. The soup comes with several great condiments and it is very tasty. They also have a little market attached with a good selection of items. I plan to start getting my rice from there since it is considerably cheaper than the grocery store.
