For birthdays we always come here. I love the Korean Rainbow Rice Bowl for my starter. It’s tangy and so delicious with a variety of pickled veggies and marinated beef over a bed of greens. I love the Sunny Roll. I think I could eat 3 rolls of those. The Mexican Crunch Roll, French Kiss Roll and California roll are also some of my favorites. It’s probably the best Sushi in Logan. I’ve tried all of the other Sushi places here and this one always tops it!

Truly puzzling that this restaurant currently garners a 4.5-star rating. I know we’re talking Logan, so the sushi options are limited, but Tona in Ogden isn’t that far away. I refuse to believe Unilocalers haven’t tried sushi other places. Takara is a small step above all-you-can-eat. If you like sushi drenched in sweet sauce and sriracha mayo, fine. But let’s not pretend that this place is something better than what it is, which is a stuff-your-face, heavy-on-sauces-light-on-fish, everything-is-50%-off sushi joint in a sleepy college town.

Sook is amazing! She made our experience here truly unforgettable. The food was great, but it was her amazing service that won us over. Thank you, Sook!

They just started charging me for sauces on the side, which we often ask for to customize flavors for my family. kid likes rolls sweet, wife can’t take heat. Now $ 2 more for a cup of eel sauce and spicy mayo. I was about to add a star, but since they’re the only sushi place I’ve ever been to that charges me for sauces, they just lost that star. Besides that, here are my updated thoughts… Takara has grown on me some. The lack of sushi eateries in Logan has me settling here frequently. Plus Takara is closest to my house. Menu is hit and miss, but I’ve recently warmed up to a few of their rolls. still overly simple and made cheaply, but pretty good. and the Monkey Ball is always delicious. My old review holds true, read it if you want more detail. And Aaron is right about it freezing near the door in winter.

One of the best sushi places I’ve ate in the state of Utah They have many under $ 5 rolls, daily specials, in specialty roles that can go as high as $ 29. I love their monkey balls. I have yet to taste anything I did not like. Their shrimp is very good not to battery just right. Wish they could expand their seating so get there early or go there late. They’re open for lunch. Watch out for the wasabi sometimes it’s mild and sometimes it’s wild.

Good sushi. No problem with the staff. I got the the rainbow, the double tuna, and the french kiss roll. I’ve had better sushi but not in the state of Utah.

Ever since I moved from Logan I have missed this restaurant. Good sushi is hard to find in UT being far from fresh fish but they have good prices. Knowledable staff. About as good as you can get being in-land.

As a vegetarian AND a sushi lover(oxymoron? Just plain old moron?) I love any place that gets more creative than cucumber rolls. The veggie tempura roll was a delight. Great service. Simple presentations. Support local!

Best consistent sushi in town. It always has quick service and good food. Sometimes it can be pretty packed, but they do a good job accommodating everyone. The best roll is the French Kiss.

We had an awesome lunch here the other day. We tried to go on a Friday night and it was jam packed so we decided to come another time. So glad we did! All of our food tasted fresh and delicious. The service was superb! I seriously can’t wait to go back. We had the crazy Mexican roll and it was soooo good, as well as monke balls, ramen soup, and chicken, veggie and ricd bowl(can’t remember the name sorry) I definitely recommend Takara and will be back soon!

The most yummy and professional sushi in Cache Valley. Service is prompt and friendly. Large rolls with plenty of fresh tasting fish meat. Always some kind of half off promo going on but they always raise prices to justify it so it’s not like your really getting a deal. However their prices are not bad anyway so I can’t complain. My personal favorite local sushi.

Were we on the northern coast or in Japan, I’d not have given 5 stars, but considering we’re in Logan, Ut. I wish I could give it more! I’ve eaten there numerous times and it has been a real pleasure every time, and, YES I do know what world class sushi is. The service has, every time, been courteous and thoughtful AND out of the way. The food prep is professional and artful(as one expects in the sushi world) and surprisingly quick. The menu includes several locally inspired dishes, i.e. Logan Roll, Mt. Logan Roll…(no trout, nor trout roe… yet) all has been properly prepared, every time, not loosely rolled or falling apart. They don’t carry some of the more uncommon items I crave(i.e. uni [sea urchin roe], but they do have a very nice variety available, shrimp, salmon, smoked salmon, yellow tail, scallop, squid, salmon roe, tuna, albacore, mackerel, flying fish roe, eel, quail eggs, and more. I’m told they occasionally do carry uni, but I’ve not yet seen it. I don’t know how it is scheduled, but I’ve been there more than once when a half price special was going on. The regular price is good for a sushi place, but this half price deal makes it… well… make me eat a lot more of it, I suppose… but, nevertheless it’s a damn fine deal financially. Lastly, while it isn’t critical, it is interesting, and appreciated by me, at least, that they serve saké and/or Japanese beers, which makes the experience more authentic AND pleasurable, in my, anything but humble, opinion…

Takara is the absolute go-to for Sushi in Logan. Their local reputation clearly stands above all other related restaurants. In my opinion, they come in at 5 stars for their diverse menu, quality sushi, and unbeatable VALUE. I’ve probably had better sushi… But not for this price. The majority of the menu is half price and still maintains respectable quality. Some of my favorites include the Golden Cali, French Kiss, Sunny, sunshine, Mexican crunch, 10 – 10, and the Aggie roll just to name a few. The service is a little inconsistent and don’t sit by the door in the wintertime. Other than that, Takara is a safe bet for sushi. Strongly recommended

Is this a joke? Our food didn’t pass as edible, let alone pass as sushi. Have any of you had sushi before? EVERY ingredient in the five rolls of sushi we ordered was the cheapest quality you can find. Cheap ingredients– the fish ISNOTREAL! The spicy tuna was ground up fish, the salmon and shrimp looked real but tasted off, and whatever crap they put in the rest of it tasted horrible and was the consistency of boiled egg yolk. Seriously??? Our server was nice, and they got our food quickly, but I will never ever go to this restaurant again. $ 45 dollars completely wasted.

GREAT sushi!!! We got mostly specialty rolls: the French kiss roll, Takara roll, crazy roll, and I think the Vegas roll(it’s not really«sushi» but DANG good!). ANDTHEYWEREALLTHEHALFOFFONES!!! For how cheap this sushi was it was AMAZING! I grew up in California and we were just in Hawaii last month. So I like to think I know good sushi, and this was pretty dang good! Our server was AWESOME(soft spoken guy with combed hair) and they even brought us some strawberry mochi for my wife’s b-day! It’ll be our go to!

Ok, I may get some hate mail for writing this but here goes. I grew up in Hawaii where fresh fish is always abundant. I am currently living in the SF Bay area so I’m also near the ocean and have access to some fresh seafood. I also did a study abroad to Japan for 1 year while in college so I’ve had really good, fresh, sushi as well — I’m talking about freshly killed still pulsing on your plate fresh seafood. So, I am a little particular when it comes to my sashimi and sushi. Now, I understand that Logan is rather far from coastline and it’s a small town so certain sashimi and sushi may not be popular. For example, I doubt that sea urchin or abalone would be popular. So I get that they have to serve what the public wants. That being said, I’m sure that this place is probably the best place for sushi within a 25 mile radius. The clients that I had with me who lived in the area were raving about this place. However, after purveying the sashimi in the display case at the sushi bar, I opted to get the grilled salmon lunch — which was OK. If they had the more exotic sushi stuff I would’ve probably got some, but as I mentioned I don’t think the regulars here would go for that. So I am basing my review on the salmon box lunch that I had. It was full of flavor, and the service here was very good. I think the discount specials that they have also make this place a good value. All of the servers were very polite.

This place is what first converted me to sushi, and my love for it has grown ever since. It’s in a nice location and as soon as I step through the doors, the hostess finds a table for me immediately. They are very good at helping me and taking my order quickly, once I’ve had a chance to look over the menu. I ALWAYS get the Monkey Ball appetizer, two fries balls of crab and mushrooms and delicious sauce cut in half, it is well worth the $ 4(That’s right, I said $ 4. Did I mention everything on the menu is half price?). I top it off with the French Kiss Roll, and if I’m with my go-to-sushi-friend, she usually orders the Sunshine Roll, which is equally as incredible. The waitress then brings out the perfect size of dipping dishes for my soy sauce and an extra plate in case the fish gets away from me. All-in-all, a great meal. TIPS&TRICKS: * The«perfect place to sit» is bitter sweet. I believe it is right when you walk in, the waiters and the chefs see you and don’t forget about you, my friend and I waited probably about 4 minutes for our rolls to arrive(however, every time I get put in the back by the restrooms, my wait time is about 10 – 15 minutes). That’s the«sweet» part. The bitter part is that it’s right by the doors, which makes traffic a bummer as well as the Logan Canyon Breeze freeze your face off. So, pick your poison – a long wait time, or icicle hair. * For those who aren’t a huge fan of sushi, but still want to try it, have them try the Vegas Roll, it is fried and has cream cheese, avocado, and just a little bit of crab. Not too overpowering. Their edamame is a nice snack too. * Get the hang of using chopsticks, I’ve never seen a fork in this restaurant! I’m sure they’d give one to you, if you asked, but you look cooler flailing the sticks around anyways.

I was sure there were no good sushi places in Logan. Somehow I missed this one! My husband and I stumbled across Takara while shopping at Natural Grocers one day and we loved it. We went back a couple weeks later, tried some different rolls, and love it even more now. Love the half off menu– Crazy Boy roll is our favorite we’ve tried so far, but every roll we’ve gotten has been great. They could use slightly more filling, but really, they’re still delicious so I can’t complain too much. Especially since the prices are so good! We referred some friends here and they reported back that they really liked Takara as well. We’ve had the same waitress both times(20-something blonde girl) and she has been great, so I have no complaints service-wise.
