Brett Blacher, DDS

I’ve been seeing Dr. Blacher for several years now and have nothing but positive things to say about him and his staff. He listens well and explains everything he’s doing. He also really cares about your comfort and does everything he can to make the experience positive. Lastly, he is a really nice and down to earth guy.

I’m scared of roller coasters but I rather sit on one than visit the dentist! Yes my fear of visiting the dentist is huge!!! However I have to commend the team and dr. Brett for being so accommodating and caring. You really feel very relaxed and everyone is all smiles and constantly asking you how you feel making you feel at ease.
Still nervous but definitely not avoiding the dentist no more!

I have had an amazing experience with Brett Blacher. I went to him getting a second opinion and ended up staying for my fillings. I had two fillings done about a week ago and it was incredibly painless and fast. Great staff and Dr. Blacher is so down to earth and takes the time to explain to you exactly what he is doing. Today I received a follow up call from him asking how my teeth are feeling. I have never had a dentist this caring before. I will be sure to stay here for as long as I stay in this area.

My wife and I have been coming to Dr. Blacher’s office for several years.
The staff is friendly, professional and never behind schedule. We’ve never had an issue with billing or rescheduling.
A few years ago, a day before I was scheduled to travel to Europe, on of my ‘childhood fillings’ came loose and caused a great deal of discomfort. Dr. Blacher was able to fit me in hours before my flight. He replaced my filling, pain free, and I experienced no subsequent discomfort. This experience speaks to Dr. Blacher’s flexibility, understanding of his patients needs, and more importantly his skills.
We are moving to the city next month. Rest assured, we will still come back to Lombard to use Dr Blacher!

This place has got it all.
Hands down best dental experience I’ve ever had. Christie (I’m not sure how exactly to spell her name) was my dental hygienist. She cleaned my teeth so thoroughly. She is incredibly personable and talented, and painfully cute. Dr. Blacher and his staff are truly one of a kind, and if you have the opportunity to get an appointment with them, drop everything you’re doing and go.
Exceptional work, exceptional people, exceptional atmosphere.

Went there today because my friends wife recommended him and said he was the best went there and the office was very clean the staff was very welcoming courteous and nice and professional the chair faces the large outside window and they have a tv with cable and headphones for you to relax and watch tv while they work on you which is very nice because I usually feel uncomfortable at dentist and they have many flavors to choose from for polish I had a check up and cleaning from Amanda Mikuski and Brett Blacher DDS seemed very nice and helpful definitely returning for future appointments high recommend this dentist to public and any brothers and sisters out there

Dr. Blacher is hands-​down the most honest and painless dentist I’ve been to in Chicago. After moving here nearly 8 years ago, I have been to several dentists and found that they all fit into 1 of 2 categories (and sometimes both):
1– They were dishonest (one dentist claimed I needed 8 cavity fillings, 2 crownes, and a root canal, when I had received a clean-​bill of health from a different dentist just six months earlier)
2– They were rough on my teeth (and I am extremely sensitive)
For these reasons, I avoided going to the dentist for 3 years. After a friend recommended Dr. Blacher, I figured I’d give him a try. I was so nervous during that appointment, that I nearly cried while sitting in the waiting room.
What I then experienced, was the best dental visit I’ve ever had. The technician was so incredibly gentle while cleaning me teeth, and had all kinds of ways to make it painless (such as numbing gels, etc.). When the doctor reviewed my x-​rays, I was pleased to find out I only had one cavity. Knowing how nervous I was about getting it filled, Dr. Blacher gave me a prescription for a sedative for when I came back. And a few weeks later, my filling was painless.
Since then, I’ve seen Dr. Blacher several times. I usually don’t have any issues with my teeth, but when I do — he can fix them right then and there with his drill-​less method, which doesn’t even require novacaine — it’s painless and only takes about 15 seconds.
I can’t recommend this dentist enough — if your looking for a judgement-​free, painless, honest (and cute to boot!) dentist — this guy is for you.

My wife and I have been fortunate enough to be a patients of Dr. Blacher who has been a wonderful professional when it comes to dental care. He does a great job of explaining each procedure and the reason for doing it. He has also been great at discussing what the options are for dental care and what might work best for us. He does not rush you when it comes to getting a procedure done and gives alternatives.
His staff has been wonderful in setting up our appointments and handling all the insurance issues.
Dr. Blacher is a supporter of the military veteran’s homeless organization, which puts him at the top of my list as a caring professional.
We both highly recommend him as a dentist you might consider.

I was tired from an early appointment working the night shift and Dr Blatcher was so gentle that I was nodding off while watching the news getting a crown buildup. Brett explains procedure and is very friendly. I had a cramp in my jaw before thanksgiving from my TMJ and the team got me in the next day and Brett educated me about TMJ options and prescribed me a medication that stopped the cramping in 6 hours. Couldn’t have chosen a better dental team.

I was very pleased when I visited Dr Blacher. We went for our first visit with Dr Blacher. My oldest child had a baby tooth that wouldnt come out right and he got her taken care of. The staff there was great, found colors for my other children to color while we waited. One staff member took my child to the bathroom, so I didnt havent to take them all to the bathroom. Dr Blacher and his assistant made sure my daughter was comfortable and could watch what she wanted on the TV while they pulled her tooth out. He gave her a box for the tooth and even told her that he called the toothfairy for her and that she would visit tonight. Our first time experience was great and will definately go back again and recommend him to anyone.

I couldn’t be more pleased with Dr. Blacher and his staff. Everyone in the office is friendly, has a sense of humor & makes an effort to see that I am comfortable. Dr. Blacher and his assistants don’t seem to mind answering my many questions or explaining procedures. The front desk staff is patient and even took extra time to help me understand my new insurance coverage.
I’ve had my teeth examined for periodontal disease, cleaned, and received two fillings. For smaller cavities Dr. Blacher uses air abrasion. Air abrasion uses fine particles carried by compressed air to remove the decayed area of the tooth. It requires no anesthetic & no drilling! He used air abrasion on one of my cavities & traditional drilling on the other. A numbing gel is put on your gums before the injection of anesthetic is given. For me, the shot is the worst part of dental work and I didn’t feel it at all. Dr. Blacher & his techs are extremely gentle.
The practice is on the second floor of an office building on 22^nd in beween Highland & Meyers in Lombard; across from the north entrance to Target /​Yorktown Center. There is plenty of parking. Easy in & out. The office waiting area is comfortable, though I’ve not had to wait more than a minute or two. The dental chairs face big windows overlooking a large pond visited by various waterfowl & an occasional hawk, which I find calming & distracting. Each chair also has a flat screen TV (with sound off) for further distraction. The most painful part of my visit was watching the parade of presidential hopefuls on the screen above me!

I have been getting my teeth cleaned here for a couple years now and I have always had a great experience. The front desk has great customer service and always greets you with a smile. Unlike some of the other comments, I have never been hassled or pressured to get any work done on my teeth. I do need a mouth guard and that is always brought up at all my six month cleanings, but I haven’t bought it yet. I have never been hassled as to why, and when are you? The do have lots of extra’s, a TV at each station to help you relax and get your mind off the whole «cleaning» or «work» process. As well as ice cold water in a fridge while you wait. I’ve never had that at another dental office before. I would recommend this dental office to all my friends and family.

In terms of service, I really liked this place. The staff and Dr. Blacher were really nice and they were able to drill my cavities without any kind of shots! Whoa. I guess the thing that really turned me off was that I felt like I was getting a lot of products and services pushed on to me. It was like an hour long sales pitch.
No, I don’t want your electric toothbrushes, Invisalign, and whatever else they asked me about. I know that we’re all in «an economy» and everybody wants to make «some monies», but for reals! I was waiting for them to bring up a time share or pyramid scheme next.

First… it hurts a little to pick the rating for this business… just something inside of me never wants to say «Yay! I’m a fan!» of going to the dentist. But if I’m ever going to give stars to an experience of going to a dentist, this would be it.
In general, I have had mostly healthy teeth, but after my experience with my last dentist who was very talented, but so impersonal and uncaring about my comfort (hello…he didn’t even offer for me to be knocked out to have all of my wisdom teeth removed… granted, i was okay, but after talking to people about it, i’m realizing that this is definitely not the norm), i put off not only returning to that dentist, but also finding another one, despite the tiny twinges of guilt that I felt every time one of those 1−800-DENTIST commercials came on TV.
But like most people, I waited too long to see a dentist (i.e. when I had a problem). So I had a toothache that was not going away. But not only did I have a toothache, but I had a toothache during the week of Christmas. And not only did I have a toothache during the week of Christmas, but I had plans to drive down to South Carolina for a week for the holidays.
Even though they were full, Dr Blacher squeezed in a quick appointment over lunch to examine my tooth. Not surprisingly, I had a major cavity which was going to require either a huge crown or a root canal. There was no time to do the actual procedure, but Dr Blacher gave me a prescription for antibiotics in case of an infection, tips for managing any discomfort and an appointment for a procedure to fix the problem shortly after my return.
Fast forward to that appointment, he was able to avoid the root canal (or at least for a little while if I can keep my mouth clean). Since then, I’ve had several cleanings and some small cavities removed (air abrasion, which he offers, is awesome, btw) and it seems that my teeth are all good at this point.
The entire staff has been awesome, just genuinely nice, and gentle while getting the job done. I would highly recommend them and despite the fact that we’ve moved further away from the office, Dr Blacher is definitely worth the drive!

Dr. Blacher is very nice and I was always comfortable with him. He explained the procedures and what was being done thoroughly.
My only complaint would be that I feel as though I got unneeded expensive procedures done, when I did not need them. While in his care, I needed two rootcanels, two crowns, an inlay, changing 2 metal filling to porcelain fillings. These are all VERY EXPENSIVE PROCEDURES! I have not had a cavity since and my new dentist expressed that based on my old films this may have been too much work done. I also felt pressure to get more things done like invisalgin and teeth whitening.

Dr. Blacher and his team of assistants are extremely professional without the stuffy cold personality. I am extremely afraid of having my teeth worked on, and everyone there makes a great effort to perform painless dentistry.
They succeed every time. 100% not kidding.
As most of you know, dental insurance usually runs out at or around 1300 dollars per year. Dr. Blacher and his office staff worked with me every step of the way to find a payment plan that worked for me when I went past my insurance limit.
This office has alot of extras. TV at every chair, headphones to listen to instead of the drill, and the best dental staff you could ask for.
I know Dr. Blacher offers some beautiful cosmetic dentistry as well, I just have not had any done personally.
