Zak’s Pizza, Pasta & Wings

I dream of Zak’s wings! Zak’s is my fav Zabiha Halal wings place. The wings are by far the yummiest thing the have on the menu.
The pros — It’s 100% Zabiha Halal. Clean. Every time I have gone in the people are nice, they even recognize me. There’s a lot to choose from. If you’re not into wings you can totally try their pizza which is delicious! Also, the chilli cheese nachos are to die for. You have to wait for the wings but they let you know that up front.
The cons — There are way too many items on the menu. Sometimes you’re just overwhelmed. I see a lot of people complaining about not bringing in outside food or drinks, the one thing they can and should offer is free water. I would try the pizza and wings over the wraps.
Another brownie point — I was confused as to what to get once and wanted to try boneless wings and just mentioned it to my fiancé, but the owner’s son overheard me and a bit later he brought out a few boneless wings for me to sample. That’s amazing customer service in my opinion.
Just go there and do your taste buds a favor.

I usually go here for the burgers and if I feel like driving about 45 mins. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, and I had been quiet disappointed by the pizzas. Specifically, I’m not fan of their meat lovers pizza. Although, they have good burgers from the sajid burger to the chilli burger which is my favorite. I will surely go to this place for wings and burgers, but I’m not sure about the pizza.

This place is for take-​out. Don’t be mistaken and think otherwise unless you and a friend are just grabbing something real quick and need to sit and eat. Stick to the burgers, ribs, and higher priced sandwiches. Everything else will more than likely disappoint you, especially for the price (including the pizzas). Don’t expect much in the was of customer service. Regarding the ribs, they’re really good but the price is HIGH. Note that this is another place that recently raised they’re prices and added more items to the menu to justify it. Do they really think that makes since?

I found Zak’s by accident… via a cab-driver’s good advice… their pizza crust is great and delivery is fast and friendly. I’ve had their chicken parmigiano which is also amazing… all delivered and all delicious. They have the BEST chicken wings in the area.

This is family running joint with huge mouth watering menu to make you confused what to order.
Ambiance is just okay, need complete renovating for more dining orders.

Best halal burgers in the Chicago land area. Haven’t had any better burgers than Zaks. They have Chicago style deep dish pizza for people who like deep dish pizza. Great sandwiches and wings and pasta. Never had a bad experience. Always a good choice.

Ordered few times at this place and this 1 particular day we decided to eat in. My daughter of 3 yrs old were with us and we had a bottle of water for her which she been drinking from. So apparently they have the policy where you cannot bring any outside food and the bottle of water for my 3 yrs old daughter falls into the category of «Outside food» — this was ridiculous. They have no manners and no customer service at all. The lady inside was so out of manners and ask us to throw the bottle or go outside to drink… IT WAS WATER FOR A BABY!!!
I will never ordered from them and give them my service… will ask my my friends and families to do the same… the food may be good, but their customer service sucks!!! IT WAS JUST WATER!!!

Overrated! I did not like their pizza style and I can easily pick Italian Express Pizza over Zak’s pizza any day. Or I’d just go for a deep dish. The inside is just not family friendly. Do not come here with your family or even a group of friends.
They have a sign inside that states
«No outside food or drinks allowed. You will be asked to leave and no refund will be given»
^^ If you have that problem with people bringing food from other restaurants to the point where you have to put a sign up… then obviously your food isn’t appealing enough for the whole crowd to enjoy.

I’ve eaten at Zaks sporadically since they opened for business. When they first opened, the quality of food, taste, and price were something that was unrivaled; but over the years, everything has gone downhill!
Customer Service: ¹⁄₁₀
My brothers, independent of me, have ordered from Zak’s, and they’ve gotten the order wrong nearly 50% of the time. When they mess up, Zak’s makes you wait until they remake your food, and offers no apology, credits, or amends for the mistake. Instead, the customer is the one that bares the burden of poor order taking, time, and their money, all the while Zak’s still makes their money.
I’ve ordered food for pick-​up, to be told that it will be ready in 20 minutes. I get there to pick up my food, and it took them over an hour to get me my order. When I complained, they told me that it was not their fault and offered nothing for making me wait, not even an apology. This has happened numerous times!
Zak’s hired his family to work up front and it shows! The kids are not the most customer friendly people and will do the bare minimum, because they know they can’t be fired.
Food: ⁶⁄₁₀
The burgers are below average (⁴⁄₁₀). For a $ 10 – 12 burger, I would expect a better bun, a toasted bun, and better garnishes, but I guess its too much to ask for. Also, they only cook them «well done».
The beef ribs are good (⁶⁄₁₀).
The chicken tenders are on the smaller, but overall good (⁵⁄₁₀)
The pizza is good (⁶⁄₁₀), although inconsistent. Sometimes the dough is too doughy and almost uncooked, or the cheese isn’t cooked long enough, etc.
Price: ⁴⁄₁₀
Its on the more expensive side of the «fast food/​specialty» scale.

Tried one of there sandwich one time it was great, then went there to try another, and found out that there sandwiches are way similar with no taste. There burgers and sandwiches are sooo greesy, dont know if I will go there again.

Been here many times, and have tried more then half the items on the menu.
Ribs are amazing, not many places where you can get Halal ribs. Out of all the places that i have been to, these are the best.
Can’t go wrong with the Wings either

Been a long time customer here and each time the quality /​experience goes lower. The girl up front answers questions about the menu in a very rude way. She needs to learn customers are what keeps you in business.
I have tried majority of the burgers/​sandwiches and don’t believe you get value for what you pay for. The Sajid burger was not all that great. Although, the ribs are tasty and the sauce that its in has a great taste to it as well. Personally, when I pay for something, I want a good experience and quality food and Zaks is failing big time on the customer service side. This was the last time I came here.

Can I just say worst gyro sandwich ever??? Like I just don’t get it. Zaks does such a good job on their burgers. Why does the gyro sandwich have to be so horrible. Get it together guys!

Have been here a couple of times with friends and family. Their ribs are top notch and definitely worth it, along with their chilli fries! Certainly don’t have halal ribs like this in Toronto… Yet. Sure the disposable cutlery and plates don’t exactly make it the most fancy family dinner, but if you’re coming here it’s mainly for the food! The staff are always friendly and helpful and your order, no matter how big it is, is usually ready within 20 – 30 mins — everything is made to order and they are very accommodating of requests!

Ordered the Sajid and the Gyro chicken sandwich. The burger buns were super thick, the patty was thin & hard as rock every bite that you took there were bones in the chicken. I found 5! I don’t know if this is normal or not but I’ve never found bones in my burger. Oh and also the chili cheese were just blanketed with way too much cheese and the fries were swimming in the salsa and turned into soggy potatoes. Very disappointed since I was looking forward to trying this place since there’s a few places in the area that are zabiha. Def wouldn’t recommend this place or come back.

This is the wing place I was waiting for my entire life. The chicken wings are finger-​licking good. Hands down best wings I’ve had.
We also tried the ribs– really good. Warning: they are HEAVY. Good luck getting through 1. Definitely bring friends to help you eat.
Pizza is pretty good. Not amazing but definitely hits the spot.
Overall, don’t leave without trying the wings!

They are the sweetest ppl and have excellent food. They accidentally over cooked my two pizza so now they are giving me another two for free because they felt bad. I love how they were honest, especially going thru a difficult day

Had a really bad experience at this restaurant.
My friends and I decided to dine in but my friend brought food from another place. Apparently, they have a policy in which they do not allow food from other restaurants. When the owner saw my friend eating, he reprimanded my friend publicly and with impolite language told him to get out of the restaurant. Overall, mediocre food and horrible customer service! I would never go their again.

I’ve been here three times in total. Two of those times I have ordered the mushroom and Swiss burger. OH MY GOD— SO DELICIOUS! The flavors in that burger are so freaking delicious! I can’t.
I’ve also had the mozzarella sticks which were pretty good, but my guess is they are just reheated frozen ones from Costco or something. Oh well, still pretty good.
The restaurant itself is small with 2 or three tables. It is fine to sit there if you have a small group, but I have always done take out. Just call ahead, and they will have the food ready for you.
All in all– get that Mushroom and Swiss burger!!!
