A friend brought me here in 2008 and since that time this restaurant has become one of my favorite Peruvian restaurants in LA. This is a family owned restaurant, I know most of the people that work here, every time that I come here I feel like being at home.
I’m half Japanese half Peruvian so I was very happy when I found out that not only they serve Peruvian food but also sushi and rolls!
I highly recommend their ceviche, pecado al ajo (deep fried fish with garlic), krunch rolls, piranha rolls, sudado de pescado, tiradito.

Came here with my gf since we were in the area and after our morning hike was super hungry. Called in and reserved 30 min before we got there. Upon arriving it really didn’t look like much from the outside but once we entered we were greeted and escorted to our table for two in the corner. Our waiter was super nice and he gave a couple of recommendations. We ordered the Peruvian Slur sushi roll and the Loma Soltado (softest potatoes ever!) Not a bad combo and quite a pleasant experience.

Absolutely deserves 6 stars!
Whether you like sushi or aren’t so crazy about it, this place has everything under one roof! Oh and a bar!
This establishment is a perfect hybrid mix of Japanese and Peruvian food. Sushi is fresh and excellent, and so it everything else.
Service is great! Staff is very attentive and willing to give you meal suggestions. Their «Papa Rellena» was a huge hit with my friends and family (potato stuffed with seasoned ground beef), and I couldn’t say more about their tuna sashimi! We also ordered «Tallarin Saltado» which is a spaghetti noodle with sautéed onions, tomatoes and chicken (or choice of meat). The chicken is perfectly cut in bite size, and the green sauce… OMG the green sauce!!!

Dear Kotosh,
Though I’ve only been here a few times, it’s always been a great one. Your food is delicious, and there’s a nice waiter working there with a wonderful smile and sparkling eyes. The restaurant is small, tucked in a tiny strip mall, but I love it all the same. We’ve been fortunate not to have to wait.
Cebiche Mixto is one of my favorite dishes here. They use swai, octopus, squid, red onions, and minced red pepper, all soaked with strong lime juice. Toasted Peruvian corn, giant Incan corn, and a yam is on the side. I love the acidity of the cebiche, which is offset by the more plain flavors of corn and yam.
Chupe de Camarones: Unfortunately, they don’t seem to use fresh shrimp, but this simple chowder feels homey and comforting. There are some peas, eggs, and rice in a creamy soup.
Tallarin Verde: Seems like just a simple pesto spaghetti, but oh so delicious! Not watery, and the katsu is also tender and crispy.
Lomo Saltado/​Chicharron dishes: I’m putting these together because while I don’t really have much to complain about them, they aren’t my favorites. It may be because there’s so much meat that I think could be complemented with some greens, but that wouldn’t be as traditional. However, the green sauce (pio pio) in the bottle that they place on every table is fantastic and tastes great with these plates.
I have yet to try their sushi, but eating here brings me a lot of joy. When my boyfriend went on Christmas Eve, the waiter even gave us a box of chocolates after our meal! Whattt? We were so surprised, and it was such a sweet gift. Thank you.

This place was a very pleasant surprise. I had no idea what to expect. I heard they did ceviche and that sounded good. As it turned out it wasn’t good, it was amazing. I am by no means an ceviche expert but this was certainly one of the best I have ever had.
The fried plantains with their slow sweetness provided a nice contrast to the spicy tartness. Great combination
We also had an octopus dish. I cannot remember it’s name, but it was drowning in an olive mayo. I don’t know if the octopus was good or not since I couldn’t taste it.
Over all, I can’t wait to come here.

This place was recommended to us by a Peruvian friend, so we had to try it out! If you’re in the South Bay and need to fulfill a Peruvian craving (ceviche, saltado, anything marisco etc.) we highly recommend coming here. It dethroned El Pollo Inka in quality and the portions were still substantial aka leftovers for next day lunch! The only downside is that the space is small, so expect to wait a bit if you come during peak times.

You can pretty much mix any Asian food with other culture’s food and call it Asian Fusion. In this case, Japanese meets Peruvian. I like this combination.
This was quite a busy Friday night, but we were the first on the waiting list. They sat us in the back room. Feeling very excluded to the rest of the restaurant, there were one larger party and a party of three.
We placed our order and we definitely waited over 30 mins for our plate to come. We noticed it, but didn’t complain. I enjoyed my Lomo Saltado, the man felt his dish, Chicharron mixto al ajo, was just okay. I had an additional order of the spicy scallops roll, which became on the house for the long wait for our food. We appreciated that from our server. Service was friendly and fairly attentive considering we were placed in the back room.
I love Japanese food and I love Peruvian food. So this was a great spot for both. I still like El Pollo Inka more because the offer the rice soup at the start of your meal.

I always come back to this spot for the Mariscos Saltado and I have recently tried and fell in love with a new plate – Chicharron mixto al ajo. The Mariscos saltado is a mix of seafood including calamari, shrimp, clam and some tomatoes, french fries and onions. Its my original fave! Then I tried this Chicharron Mixto Al Ajo and it was really delicious! It has fried seafood, glazed with some type of asian sesame garlic sauce and it comes with rice on the side. Both are delicious and my family gets both! Its a must try for anyone who loves seafood! The rolls here are also pretty good but I like to save my appetite for the main entrees.
The owner is really sweet and really takes the time to appreciate his customers :) He will remember you if you are always coming back and treat you extra nice! The other servers are just as nice and always refill your drinks.
I would definitely come back and I hope to bring all my friends here!

I have tried their lomo Saltado and papa a la huancaina and all I can say is delicious!!! So authentic! I am so glad I don’t have to go to pollo inka anymore.

This is seriously LONG overdue. I owed this amazing establishment a glowing review from my very first visit here about 4 or 5 years ago.
Everything about this place is the best – unique and amazing dishes, fresh seafood, and the friendliest staff ever! I cannot say enough about them, especially Yo Yo, who is seriously the sweetest man you will ever meet.
Well, as many people before me have suggested, you MUST try their Saltado. While I prefer pollo, everyone I know loves the lomo, so you really can’t go wrong with either. I’ve tried a lot of dishes on the menu and haven’t had one that I wasn’t crazy about. Anything with fish, seriously, you should at least try once – they’re all delicious! And another tiny detail… GREEN SAUCE. So amazing – just dump it everywhere. On everything. Trust me.
Whenever I come here, I always have to come with 3 or more people because I can never decide what dish to get. We end up doing family-​style, which lets you have a little bit of everything. Here are the musts every time I go:
–Cebiche de Pescado (appetizer) — hands down the BEST ceviche of my life
–Spicy Tuna Salad — so refreshing and they give you lots of fish!
–Lomo Saltado — no explanation necessary; can’t go wrong
–Arroz Chaufa — different take on fried rice, but that’s why I love it
–Spicy Tuna sushi — they don’t add tons of mayo like other places do (yuck!)
So this is usually split by about 3 – 4 people, and we always have leftovers! But there’s no other way to order… you just can’t miss out on anything.
There’s a reason why all of my out-​of-​town guests know about this place – I take EVERYONE I know here as a token of my affection because Kotosh is just that amazing.
I will never, ever go anywhere else for Peruvian.

I LOVE KOTOSH! My favorites are the beef ARROUZ CHAFA (fried rice) and the chicken TALLARIN SALTADO (spaghetti noodles). My family and I always order these two dishes and eat family style because it’s all so good! It has so much flavor! The Seafood Salad is also really good as an appetizer.
You HAVE to try their special GREEN SAUCE… It’s like a jalapeño mayo I believe. It makes the food taste 284 726 132 times better! (Hopefully you like spicy)
As for their sushi it seems like it’s pretty good quality fish and their rolls are delicious! Sometimes we end with their Flan for dessert.
Honestly everything here is good! I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re in the South Bay! There may be a wait but it’s worth it!

Appearance: This is a hidden gem. The parking is limited and the place is located inside a plaza in the far corner. It’s easy to miss. Seating is very limited so there can be a bit of a wait if you don’t time it correctly.
Food: My family ordered a few sushi plates for our appetizer. They were all very delicious. For my dinner, I ordered the Chicken Katsu plate. It came with a scoop of rice and macaroni salad. I have to admit I was pretty disappointed with my plate. The macaroni salad was very bland. The chicken was on the skimpy side and also very burned. I was hoping that I could hide it with the Katsu sauce, but that didn’t work very well.
Service: Our server was great and very attentive. Our food arrived on time and our drinks were always full. They were all nice and had bright smiles.
Overall Experience: My family and I used to come all the time. It had been a while since we dined in so we decided to come here. I want to say that the experiences prior to the last time where way better. This was the first time I didn’t enjoy it very much and was disappointed. However, I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. I hope the next time (whenever that is) is better. I’ll give them a three stars because of the food quality of my last dining experience.

Asian/​Sushi/​Peruvian Fusion!
I love it. There aren’t very many options in this category around So Cal and this Oma e is awesome! A small place but this is a selling feature for me! Plus there’s a counter that’s great for single diners like me. I had a few rolls and Peruvian Beer! Perfect!

So we decided to try Japanese AND Peruvian food again, I must say that I really like Peruvian food cause it’s very similar to Asian fusion food. This place opens all day from 11am on weekends which is awesome!
Chose to sit at the counter as we always prefer, took time to look through the menu, so many choices, I didn’t want to order a Peruvian food entrée cause I want to try more items on the menu. Started with pitcher of Sapporo, perfect for a random Saturday afternoon.
Peruvian style yellowtail sashimi: I think many Asian fusion place has this kind of sashimi, it was fresh and flavorful.
Salmon skin salad, half order: it’s a big salad for half order, BEST salmon skin salad I have ever had!
Spicy tuna crispy rice: one of my favorite Asian fusion dishes, so tasty, loved it.
Fabulous halibut roll: very refreshing, the rice was thin, the fish portions were generous, just the way I like my sushi rolls.
Mackerel and Thai snapper sashimi: fresh, and the cuts were perfect, not too thick or too thin.
Broiled octopus with housemade sauce on top: the sauce was pretty good but I didn’t like the octopus, a little chewy for me.
Peruvian style fish chowder: OhMY! The best soup I have ever had! The broth was so flavorful without saltiness, very generous amount of fish filets and a little bit of rice in it, it was a huge soup but we finished it all, even though we were pretty full from the food we had already!
Food was fantastic, service was attentive, we have to come back soon to try more dishes here!

The food is delicious here!
Try the Causa Rellena, it’s an appetizer which is served cool and a perfect app. Tiraditos are also amazing — Peruvian style sushi, has different flavored but perfect texture.

Kotosh is seriously amazing for several reasons.
Food: Unique, tasty, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared! I love all of their rolls, sashimis, & salads! Also their flan is life-​changingly creamy & sinful… you go for this alone!
Service: Freakin amazing!!! Yoyo is always so so so kind, attentive, friendly, interactive, and all around awesome to us. He always gives us extra attention, chats with us, and brings us desserts for our birthdays!
Ambiance: Casual, quiet, and can be chilly (bring a sweater!!)
Bottom line: One of the best places to eat in the South Bay, & friendliest restaurant owners!

Went here for my friend’s birthday, and I was super excited! So many people I know always tell me how delicious this place is. so my tummy was ready.
I really couldn’t decide which plate to get. Between the fried rice or lomo saltado. but since I’m a fatty and wanted more food, I got the fried rice lol.
2 people I went to school with actually work here to my surprise, and one of them was the chef! Very friendly staff, and an overall nice little restaurant. They were blasting that AC on high though, especially at 8:30pm.
Anyways, I got myself the fried rice with chicken, plus a little extra chicken. It’s a $ 3 charge for more. I just needed more protein. Friends basically ordered the same thing, except one gal ordered the Lomo Saltado. So. I was happy I had the opportunity to still try it out haha.
The food came out pretty quickly, and I KILLED it. It was a huge plate, and I literally ate every grain of rice. The flavor was delicious, the chicken was juicy and seasoned just right. They were not messin’ around with that extra chicken. With every bite I probably had 3 – 4 pieces of chicken, I love it! The whole dish was just perfect. I could eat it again and again.
I also tried the lomo saltado, and it was pretty good! Lots of grilled onions, and the steak fries were delicious.
Definitely can’t wait to come back!

Can’t lie, there was a fair amount of skepticism going into Kotosh; there’s just something unsettling about being able to order both Sushi and Peruvian food in the same restaurant. It turns out that Peru is actually quite the multi-​ethnic country housing both Japanese and Chinese immigrants; you learn something new everyday. On that note, I also now know that the food at Kotosh is actually quite stellar.
I would definitely recommend the lomo/​pollo saltado. I tend to judge this dish on the quality of the fries over the quality of the meat, and fortunately the fries are prepared very well. They’re fried to a near perfect texture and really carry their own flavor among the many other ingredients in the dish. The aji sauce here is a bit more mayonnaise-​y than other sauces I’ve had elsewhere, which were heavier on jalapenos and cilantro. All in all though, the saltado dishes here are super enjoyable.
My curiosity also had to try at least one item on their sushi menu. I decided to keep it simple and just order the California Roll. I’ll say that the sushi quality here is definitely above average, but nowhere near the quality you would get at a nice sit-​down sushi restaurant. The only reason I make that comparison, is because their sushi prices are very competitive to some of the higher quality sushi restaurants I’ve visited.
Overall, I left quite impressed with this very inconspicuous restaurant. The food here definitely feels authentic and the quality is all there as well. I’m definitely excited to try the Chinese food on my next visit, because their fried rice looked amazing. I recommend you give this place a try; just avoid rush hours because this place gets packed quick.

Date night with an old gf! It was Friday so no meat for me again. Home girl did not make ressies for us so after being turned away 3x, Kotosh took us hungry girls in.

Honestly the food wasn’t mind blowing but I really enjoyed the friendly staff, the $ 20/​bottle of wine and the comfort food. As always, we were the last one out but they were very nice to us.
I will be back and hopefully try some real Peruvian food. Who would’ve thought, Spanish speaking Japanese… very cool. I will be back!

Decent Peruvian food in the area. This is a fave spot for my little brother and mom. I usually do a to go order and today was my first time dining in. The service was wonderful. Attentive and friendly. Water was always filled without asking.
The seafood dishes are always a hit. The chicken saltado is good. Tacu-​tacu dish, I can not decide whether I like it or not. Appetizers are good, especially the mussels and the calamari. Always, stick to the basics so you won’t be disappointed. The green sauce is good but I wish it had more of a kick to it. The dishes are not quite authentic Peruvian but you can get your sushi fix here.
They are located in a small mall strip. Never had issues finding parking though. They get a quick Peruvian and sushi fix, this spot will do.
