Lompoc Honda

Came in to get a simple oil, filter change and tire rotation. When I asked about how long it would take they said 1 hour. I sat and waited for 2+ hours before some asked if I had been helped. Although people were polite the service was terrible. I should have just done it myself. … a few months later I’m checking under the hood verifying that everything is good to go with a trip that I have coming up. I notice that the oil cap was left off and placed on the latch of my hood. I have been driving without an oil cap on my engine for almost three and a half months now. I will never return for service to this location as they have not proved to me that they are capable or proficient in anything that they do when it comes to servicing a vehicle.

I just want to say what a stellar job your new service manager Brandon George has done. He is always polite, professional, genuine, personable, and thorough. Thank you for a VIP experience. Brandon really goes the extra mile to keep me happy. Awhile back there were several employees who almost ruined me n Lompoc Honda but your new hires have returned Lompoc Honda to my A list. Thank you for your quick response and genuine desire to offer great customer service.

I found a used vehicle that I was interested in purchasing via a Lompoc Honda ad on Craigslist. I attempted to contact the salesperson (Jorge Gonzalez) identified in the ad a couple times and got no response (oddly reaching someone’s personal voicemail when I called the dealership number listed on the ad). After contacting the dealership’s main office directly, I was put in touch with Cyndy Rodriguez (sales) who was 100% professional, courteous, communicative and helpful during the purchasing process. I was able to get the car for a very fair price, and Cyndy went above and beyond the call of duty to work around my busy schedule. Sue, the finance manager, was also very helpful and communicative. After a bit of a rocky start, the process went 100% smoothly.

My situation was a bit unique. I was in the market for a new car and after extensive research I decided on the new Honda HRV. There are about 6 Honda dealerships in San Diego and because the HRV only came out about a month ago each dealership only had about 3 – 5 on their lots. I knew exactly what I wanted: HRV EX AWD in Modern Steel. There was a dealership down here which had the HRV EX in Modern Steel, but not AWD. I soon learned, after calling and researching every dealership in Southern California (SD County, Orange County, San Bernardino County and LA County), Honda did not send any AWD HRV’s below central California. I spoke with many dealerships from Sacramento area, as well as the ones in San Diego, about getting one delivered to me, but no one seemed to want the commission enough to work with me. That is until I talked to Justin at Lompoc Honda.
I noticed online that Lompoc Honda had two AWD EX’s, but with no information as they had just unloaded them from the truck. I called and left a voicemail and Justin called me back a day later and I was very excited to learn that one of the two was the Modern Steel color. This was on a Tuesday. I had already test drove one down here, so I knew I wanted the car. We did everything over the phone and though the dealership is closed on Sunday, Justin was able to find someone (Cyndy), to meet me half way with my car. It was a two hour drive for me and 3 hour drive for her. The car was in perfect condition and she also let me test drive it before I signed the paperwork just to make sure. She set up my phone to the bluetooth before she left and gave me a quick overview of the features. It was about an hour long ordeal and I was on my way with my new car!
They gave me a very fair price for my trade in and honored my USAA quote even though their dealership wasn’t on the car buying service ticket. They have called me a few times to make sure I am happy with my car and have told me multiple times to call if I have any questions.
This was my first time purchasing a car on my own and I am happy to report that I did not have the horrible car buying experience that I have heard about.

I took our ’05 Honda Pilot in to have the air conditioning fixed as well as an automatic lock issue. The rear AC vent had stopped working. This required them to simply change out a fuse, but to do that required them to remove the front console so they could get to the fuse. So, the labor cost a couple hundred dollars to change the $ 10 fuse. Then, the auto lock issue required them to take the whole door apart. Again, a couple hundred dollars in labor for a part costing less than $ 50. I understand this to a point, but it’s a bit ridiculous in my mind. Then, while fixing the door lock, they broke another part. At first they were going to charge me, but after I challenged them on it, they agreed to not charge me. I went to them because I thought this type of service should be done by the dealer. Mistake. Before handing me the keys back, they notified me I was coming up on my 100,000 mile service which they’d be happy to do for $ 1000. I said I’d think about it. I checked out Perry’s and they did the $ 100,000 mile service for just over $ 600 and fixed a burned out tail light while they were at it for free! Avoid the robbery, go to a local mechanic you trust and save your money! Honda didn’t even throw in a car wash.

I hate buying cars. Why? Because I used to sell cars and I know how gross the whole process can be — I hated being on the other end too. It can be a grind.
That being said, I went onto
and they referred me to Ron at Lompoc Honda. Lompoc is far from Santa Barbara especially since we have a Honda dealer here (but they didn’t get great reviews). Ron was affable and straight-​forward from the start. Not pushy, but encouraging (that is his job afterall-man’s gotta eat!)
About 3 months after initially contacting Ron, I called him out of the blue, finally ready to pull the trigger on a Honda Fit because it’s on so many «10 Best» lists that I don’t think anyone can go wrong with a Fit. I initially wanted the LX model, which they didn’t have in stock. Ron told me they could have done a dealer trade, but I didn’t want that.
Ron went over the most desirable traits of the EX with me over the phone and I drove to Lompoc. Ron greeted me right away, took my trade (at the price he quoted me me over the phone) and wham/​bam I was in the finance office talking to Susan (?) and before I knew it I was taking the crap out of the back of my old Subaru and loading into the very spacious trunk of my Fit EX. Done. Easy-​peasy. Painless and no skeevy car salespeople!
Both Ron and Susan were VERY good about explaining all of the little charges and how each number was arrived at, something I thought was very conscientious.
Afraid to buy a car by yourself? Afraid of being ripped off? Then call Ron and whisper the magic word «Costco» and Ron will patiently help you choose without a bunch of sales calls and interminable e-​mails. Ron’s a pro, buy from Ron! I did.

I bought a brand new car from this place last year. I got a flyer in the mail that advertised a $ 28 oil change (it normally costs me $ 60 at other places) and free tire rotation. I made an appointment during my lunch hour after I was told it would take about 70 min to perform the job. Awesome, or so I thought. When I dropped off the vehicle, I let the cashier know about the coupon. She didn’t see the free tire rotation coupon and tried to persuade me to get their silver package, which would be a better deal. When I told her about the other coupon, she seemed perturbed then told me the tire rotation with coupon doesn’t include balancing. What? Don’t those go hand in hand? I then asked how much the balancing would cost and she tells me it’s the same price as the tire rotation and balancing. Seriously? That voucher needs to say no balancing then. So shady. Just ridiculous. And to top it off, it took over 2 HOURS to do the work. Got there at 11:00 and drove away at 1:35. Never going back. Oh and last time I was there, I got coffee and there were ants all around the sugar. Don’t get the coffee.

Bought an AMAZING — so I thought car here. An okay deal, found chocolate stains in between seats and kids chewed candy underneath seats, yes, found a candy ring and more. Really? you couldn’t have gotten a better clean before I bought it? I cleaned it better with my vacuum. Also took it in and needed transmission fluid changed after 2 weeks after purchase? Poor cleaning and service, if you buy a car MAKE SURE they do what they are supposed to before you walk away.

Got to say Mr. Abraham Espana was truly delightful! He took so much time with my daughter Meagan and I and found us the absolute perfect car!
Also kudos to Sue the Finance Manager, she’s great!

Can’t comment on the quality of the service, because there was none. I walked in and sat in several cars, while the salesmen and women talked with each other and did paperwork. I got in and out of the Accord and Civic in their lobby, browsed the lot, came back in, and they said… nothing. No «welcome to Lompoc Honda, how can I help you?» No greeting at all. When I asked for the manager’s card, someone finally looked up and asked if I needed something.
Yes I do – a different place to buy a new car.

I bought a Honda there last year three weeks later the wheel barring went out. I asked them to help me out fixing it they refuse to do it. Every month since then I’ve had to replace or get something fixed on the car. its a lemon! and they reassured me that all there used cars were certified yet here I’ve been having to spend thousands of dollars just to get it to work each and every month. When I talked to the lady at the front desk she told me that’s why you shouldn’t buy a used car and pretty much turned her back on me. If I was able to give negative stars I would. Lompoc Honda is deceitful and shady and their sales men are just the same

This dealership has the best customer service I’ve ever experienced from a dealership! I assumed I would be bombarded with sales people when I stepped onto the lot, and instead found an easy, laid back style that had me thankful I had come to Lompoc Honda.
They don’t hassle you and try talking you into a car you don’t want and can’t afford. No rushing to make a sale or get paperwork done. Salesman Cameo made the whole process easy and painless. The sales manager was great, as was the auto repair manager. Will definitely recommend this dealership to anyone interested in a new or used car!

I recently bought an ’06 VW Beetle (thank you Cyndy!) and then noticed several quirky electrical issues. I took it back a couple of times for the same issue… both times Frank and Mark got me in right away, but the 2^nd time, Mark suggested I take it to Community VW in Santa Maria to find the root of the problem. He called them to set up an appointment, offered to pay the diagnostic fee, and ended up paying the deductible on my warranty to fix the problem. My car is as good as new! I highly recommend this dealership and service department. Thanks Mark!

Took my 2013 Honda Civic Coupe for its first service here. I didn’t purchase it here. I was disappointed that it took quite a while when I was the first person there with an appointment and they didn’t even wash or vacuum my car. I wont be going back.

I can say nothing more than salesman Ron Hirzel really went the extra mile. I hesitate to use the word «salesman» as he really didn’t try to sell me on anything. The Honda product sells itself and he is more like a broker. I knew what I wanted and he was able to give me the lowest price from Bay Area to San Diego. I truly did my shopping around and came to the conclusion that this dealership and Ron weren’t trying to play games or swindle me out of my last dollar. Ron got me exactly what I wanted, and then some at no extra cost to me. Due to some special circumstances regarding my work schedule, Ron was able to drive 66 miles, conduct about 5 minutes of paperwork and deliver my vehicle without any extra charge and/​or drama. Ron Hirzel is a very friendly and down to Earth person and he treated me like a person and not like a sale. Bought a 2014 Accord from Beto. He is an awesome salesperson and I would definitely recommend using him as your contact. Very open/​honest and friendly guy. Can’t say too much other than I am very happy and satisfied with what he brought to the table and purchasing experience.
Went to the body shop to have some molding put on after buying new car. Mark and his crew are great. Marks been with Lompoc Honda as long as I have been going there, probably much longer. Would and will deinately be going back to have them install some more stuff. Prices match or beat other local estimates for what I had done. Thanks Mark!

Best buying experience I’ve had! Ron (sales) was very professional and the whole staff were courteous and helpful. I was specially happy when the sales department matched my credit union’s financing offer so I don’t have to go through the extra paperwork of getting the car loan approved through my bank. Will definitely refer if/​when I get the chance!

Went in here to investigate a leasing deal. I wish I earlier went with honda because you get more car for the buck.
Onto the dealership. I asked for a quote from honda’s website and Ron was very prompt with a reply. He even telecommuted from home. Even though he wasn’t around when I went in he directed me to Justin, who although I actually did not deal with, was courteous. I don’t remember who I dealt with but he was a younger gentleman, but I also don’t think he properly introduced himself because I was I’ll prepared and too busy looking at the email to remember Justin’s name. He was a very motivated salesman.
While I was checking cars out on the lot I observed another salesman spit on the premises. How professional (not!). Patton once said, «…you are always on parade.» It’s things like that, for me, wherever I go, that can seriously irrevocably damage my perception of a business.
The concierge was satisfactory because they offered me a bottle if water.
Lastly, I felt really anxious inside the dealership, not because of the prospect of purchasing a car, but because there was an odd/​foul odor in the very stale air. Additionally the show room was extremely tired and was needing of a facelift. The carpet was frayed, old, and dingy and needed to be replaced.
In the end I had no leverage in purchasing a car because I still owe on my current auto loan and we mutually ceased negotiations without any hassle.
When I’m ready to purchase, I may check out Santa Maria. If the show room is more comfortable to be in then that just might be the deal breaker, provided their sales team is also equally as sharp as the room.

I have purchased 2 motor cars from this dealership, my most recent, a Honda Pilot, in December 2013. I have also been taking my cars, Honda and non-​Honda to this dealership for service.
I can definitely recommend them. With my recent car purchase I was never pressured, there were no «bait-​and-​switch» or any up-​selling. In fact there dealings were upfront, straightforward and honest. I can say the same for their service department.
I will most definitely buy from them again!

I was just about to sit down and write the most positive review on Lompoc Honda; for their service and dedication and awesome helpfulness in all. My husband just happened to open the hood of the vehicle we purchased to check the oil and what type of filter it uses, Purchased a 2008 HHR in May 2013. Loud knocking noises coming from front wheel well. They took great effort to make it right. They did a GREAT job taking it back, fixing and providing a rental. Awesome Tech and owner! I was so impressed with their passion and care (They did a TON of work on the car and went above care for sure). Today we opened the hood to find one of their «fixes». Take a look. Seriously? I’ve been driving my son around in this car for 2 months… a shop rag wedged in between engine systems. Huh…
