History

Established in 1958.

Dr. Harris graduated in 1989 from University of Florida Vet School. He worked as an associate veterinarian in Santa Clara California before purchasing Lompoc Veterinary Clinic in 1996 from Dr.Burton.

Dr. Michael Harris is the owner of Lompoc Veterinary Clinic. Since moving to Lompoc in 1996, he has enjoyed raising his family here. When not working, Dr. Harris loves hanging out with his family, gardening, bicycle riding, and sports. He loves spending time with his personal pets: Ruby, Lincoln, and Mugsie, and is currently breeding geckos with his son.

Dr. Harris and his staff have cared for our kitties for the last 15 years or so. Four of them were wonderful, loved, adult cats that had to be put down at the end of their lives, because they were in discomfort and pain. Dr. Harris took care of our furry friends with compassion and professionalism. He’s a no-​nonsense kind of guy and a very skillful Vet. You can trust Dr. Harris and his staff to care for your pets.

This is the best veterinarian I have ever been to!!! Dr Harris and his staff were so kind and patient with myself and my Bentley!!! We are new in the area and a friend recommended Dr. Harris. Bentley tussled with a coyote which resulted in some very significant wounds! I couldn’t get my poor dog out of the car, so the staff came out to us. I have never been so impressed with the kindness and compassion of a veterinarian and their staff! Bentley had surgery and is now resting comfortably. I would highly recommend this vet!!!

We take all our pets to this veterinarian. He’s excellent at explaining things and taking the time to explain it. A doctor that cares is important to me whether it’s for my health or my pet’s. We’ve boarded our dogs here a few times and they do well. And the staff is caring and friendly. Facility is clean. 5 stars

I only take my pets to Dr. Harris. His staff is always friendly and always remember us. They see us immediately when I call frantic. His staff has never told me I have had to wait. Love them!!!

We’ve used Dr. Harris at the Lompoc Vet Clinic for as long as we have owned animals in Lompoc and have never been disappointed in the services he provides!
The front desk staff are wonderful, and the level of care provided for our pets is second to none. Dr. Harris really cares about the wellbeing of your pets, and it is clear that the wellbeing of your pets are his number one priority. If your dog is fat, he’ll tell you — don’t take it in the wrong way, it’s because he cares.
If you are looking for a local, family owned and operated vet clinic with reasonable rates, this is the one you should go to!

Dr. Harris, Lori, Tiffany, Carlos and all the staff at the Lompoc Veterinary Clinic have given such good health and medical care to my toy poodle Mini. I have also boarded her there quite a few times during short business trips when I could not take her along. I can recommend them wholeheartedly for all the services they have provided.

I wanted to write to tell you how very grateful I am for the care and comforting received by our beloved dog Lucky. Dr. Harris performed surgery on her to remove several growths and to clean her teeth.
Later, we discovered that Lucky had cancer and we knew the loss of her front leg would not enable her to talk due to the pre-​exhisting trouble with both back legs. The professional yet caring way of helping us deal with the decision to end her suffering was very much appreciated.
I cannot thank them enough for the compassion, during all the processes as well as the card and flowers they sent afterward. I will always remember this and when we are ready to adopt a new pet, we will be sure to bring him/​her in for care at Lompoc Veterinary Hospital.
