We drove all the way up from NJ this past Saturday to check out the Stonyfields Farm visitor center. Unfortunately, it’s closed on weekends. Even though every search on the web shows it as open. My family loves Stonyfield Farms products and it was a real disappointment. Especially when I had to explain to my two year old that they weren’t going to be open at all that day. She kept telling me that she would like to stay and wait for them to open and that she really wanted to get a treat from there. Broke my heart! :(

FACTORYTOURVIDEO We stopped here before heading to the Currier museum since this place opens pretty early at 9:30AM. The nice lady asked us if it was our first time. It was and she took us to the video room for the plant tour. Originally, Stonyfield Farms gave site tours but now it’s on video. Pretty cool video that explained about the whole process from milk to cultures working in the milk to incubation to chill room. Kids will find this fascinating and adults will love the whole beginning to end process. YOGURTSAMPLING Wow, the nice lady came after the video was finished and brought us a plate with several yogurt cups to choose from. I chose the YoBaby Apple Cinnamon. My dad tried to oatmeal Greek yogurt and my mom tried the caramel Greek yogurt. YOGURT&GIFTSTORE Afterwards, I picked up a 4 pack peach super smoothie as well as souvenirs too. This was perfect morning fix and you can even get frozen yogurt $ 1.00 a scoop. Much better done than Ben and Jerry’s in my humble opinion. Plus, you see how conscience they are about the environment with recycling program of cups and spoons. The video also explains about their packaging as well which save costs and carbon footprint on the environment. I had wanted to pick up a milk canteen with the company logo but it was $ 15 for a small bottle. Too expensive. So, I just got a pen and pencil for my sis. My mom saved her spoon which I realized after we got home. Darn, it was such a nice spoon and pastel green too.

Stonyfield Farms yogurt is a great way to get a lot done early in the day. Feed your tummy with delicious food? check. Indulge the kid in you by playing with your food as you stir the fruit in? check.(I admit to having tried the baby yogurt too… so good!) Indulge the adult– it’s organic! check. Save the world? check. Stonyfield has a conscience: they donate 10% of their profit to environmentally friendly endeavors. Gotta love that. It’s so worth it to buy their products, not only because of their great quality but because they’re committed to making it in an environmentally friendly way.

YUM! I love Stonyfield farm products, especially their creamy yogurts. I have to say they are mighty delicious and almost as good as TJ’s Spego Italian(fruit on bottom) yogurts. There is a lid-redemption program(all you do is send a licked-clean lid to their address.) that sends a small proceed of their donation to a program of your choice and then rewards you by sending you a coupon for a free yogurt(you must wait patiently for 6 – 8 weeks). Good deal though! They also have some coupons on their website — sorry Mac owners(including me), you can only view them on PCs. Stonyfield website admins: what gives?
