Will never return. They were understaffed and poorly staffed. The bartender seemed as though she’d never been behind a bar before, decorating herself in the long list of drink tickets instead of actually making the drinks, all the while wiping her nose on the back of her hand. It was disgusting. Everyone’s meal came out at different times, one steak ordered mid-rare was well done. The waitress was super sweet and apologetic that the bar and kitchen were so behind.

We went on a Friday night, and there was hardly anyone there. Even so, the service was sketchy, and they delivered the 2 out of 3 wrong dishes to our table. The Parmesan Crusted Chicken Sandwich was dry, and I only ate half of it. The food was not worth the price, and we probably should have just gone to Chili’s. Oh well. Lesson learned.

First we were greeted by some really friendly hostesses. We were seated right away, which was nice since we were trying to beat the noon crowd as it was. Our drink order was taken right away. The drinks arrived quickly and thankfully we were ready to order. I ordered a french dip and my wife had a giro. Both had plentiful portions. Mine came with steak fries and her with homemade potato chips. My food was fairly good overall. The beef in my french dip was oddly slapped into the bun and I had provolone melted over the top(another $.50) which was almost halfway hanging over both sides. So not only was the meat awkwardly slapped onto the bun, but it was held in place by equally haphazard cheese slices. Ok, no problem if it looks weird, but tastes good right? Well, the au jus sauce was very bland, and had almost no taste to it. That’s fine. Better than it being WAY too salty I suppose. As for the steak fries, WOW! SALTY! The flavor was good, but really salty. Funny thing is, I ended up dipping the fries in the au jus to un-salt the fries and salt the au jus. What a mess. Overall, service was excellent. However, the waitresses seemed like Earl’s knock-offs in terms of how they were dressed. Stop with the tight black outfits! The restaurant is a sport’s bar/grill or at least the atmosphere seemed that way. The outfits just made it seem like the waitresses were supposed to be sporty eye-candy. Wrong on so many levels that is not worth discussing here. Price for 2 for lunch was around $ 30, but thankfully we had a 1 free entrée coupon with purchase of another. Total price w tip was around $ 23. Barely worth what we got and certainly not worth what it would have been full price. Again, service was really fast, really good, and the best part about this place. The food and waitress attire needs work. I won’t go back any time soon. There’s too many better options in the area even if Champps offers coupons.

Don’t let the dumb name fool you, this place has great food. I got the fish and chips and have never tasted such goodness. They were light and flaky like you might find in New England. The waffle fries are awesome. My daughter’s chicken fingers were so delicious, also very fresh and soft and flaky. My husband’s burger was so delicious too! The service is slow, but who cares? I went there to eat, not make friends.

All I can say is it is better than Earl’s next door. The waitresses should not be force to dress like the girls at Earl’s either. Many of them can not pull it off and besides its a sports related place. Tight black dresses and sports does not make sense. Food was good. They have a dumb rule about only one free refill on tea. WTF is that? A gallon costs $ 1 to make. You charge $ 3 a glass.

Here’s when I like to visit Champps: When it’s lunchtime and I’m hungry, and I know there is some random sporting event on that I may want to check out, but don’t really care about planning my day around. In those situations, Champps has pretty good food, lots of TVs and I really enjoy myself. They have a huge bar with open seating, which I love. Their food is slightly better than most bars, and they make a pretty good burger. They have a decent beer selection, though more craft beers wouldn’t hurt. Here’s when I don’t like Champps: When there is a big event on and the place is packed, and you cannot find a seat in the bar and have to wait forever for a table. It’s really not their fault; it’s the curse of all sports bars. People watching sports tend to keep their butts in their chairs for the entire game, and could care less if we just want to sit down for a quick bite. If you want to catch a game here it’s lots of fun, but plan accordingly and show up early. Otherwise, expect a wait.

This was my first bad experience at champps and it was quite surprising. Wait wasn’t too bad for mothers day. Hostess was very friendly. The problem was they didn’t seat people in a phased approach. We sat for a bit but then ordered drinks n apps. Those came out fairly quickly. The server was a bit overwhelmed and it was apparent. Our food took over 45 minutes and was cold. One dish came out 25 minutes later. The kitchen was definitely understaffed. The manager did make it right, however by buying our meal an getting us dessert. Typically champps is fantastic and has the best ribs and salmon around. One bad experience is ok.

Kudos for being able to turn a 10 – 20 person party into a 30 person party with a smile and wonderful personality! Needed a place to bring a large group of disparate people — they were able to get us in and even extend when another car showed up! She was able to get all of orders, separate them into different types of separate checks, get our refils and all again — with a smile! The delivery of the food was a bit willy nilly — there were other waiters doing the delivery — and of course most forgot what all they ordered, or ordered similar things with«modifications» — but it all worked out ok! We had some cheeze dip and chips to start — not bad, did the sampler platter — that was tasty — but better if you don’t ahve to share will a whole table! I tried to be slightly healthier and went with the tuscan salmon — very tasty! Cheers to the staff!

I really love this place, it was my watering hole for a while and I got to know some of the wait-staff. The staff is great and the food is great. Mondays are a treat because of the discounted burger. I like the Bleu Cheese burger with waffle fries… Also the potato skins are really good, and half price after 10

Lackluster burgers. Nothing to write home about. Service could have been better. Manager stopped at every table but ours. Atmosphere was the best quality of the restaurant.

Have visited a few times and never been too impressed with the food or service. I decided to try it one more time(on a Monday night) since I received a $ 10 off coupon in the mail. I sat at the understaffed bar and ordered a cheeseburger and beer. The bartender was friendly, but it took a good 25 minutes for my burger to arrive, which was average at best. When I tried to use the coupon I was informed it was only for a total bill of $ 25 or more. I was a bit upset, but shame on me for not reading the VERY fine print. My opinion was confirmed and I will never go to a Champps again.

I hadn’t been here for years, but met a friend for a drink/snack. The Kobe sliders were very good, nachos good, house wine average… atmosphere pretty average.

There was a time when Champps was headed downhill. The food was not so good, the wait staff didn’t care… But it has changed. The food is actually good now, the wait staff is surprisingly on top of their game. I was really surprised how this restaurant has changed. I stopped going because it was just really not that good. I am a fan again… Not sure what the mgmt crew did but keep doing it…

Am a regular, and usually superb service, but missed the mark this evening. Left after sitting for almost 10 mins and no greet. Kudos to the manager who offered to buy our meal after chasing us down in the parking lot. Better luck next time, we will be back, just one bad experience out of many visits.

Champps is one of those I’ve got a love/hate relationship. I love the food but I always walk out feeling like I’ve got to take a nap! Their burgers are absolutely fantastic. They have what I call the Bellybuster, which is a double cheeseburger with bacon and waffle cheese fries. You can also get the same as a single, which is what I usually do. The burgers are made perfectly! I’ve also tried the salads here, and those rock as well :) Service is always stellar. My drink never goes empty, which is usually how I judge the waiters :)
