A Plus Garage Doors

My garage door stopped working this weekend, and I called about 10 different places looking for quotes. Most of them started the conversation with the cost of replacement (as though the problem could not possible be fixed) but Jess Mota gave me a fair and honest quote over the phone for both repair and replacement. He’s local (which I prefer) and he arrived in 10 minutes, and found the problem immediately. Even though my system is over 20 years old, he did NOT try to up sell me! He fixed the mechanism, and gave me options of what to do when the old workhorse finally gives out. I would Highly recommend A Plus Garage Doors.

I wanted to get a new garage door and garage door opener because we just bought our house and the old one was damaged.
I found A+ Garage Door Co through Unilocal reviews of local businesses. All reviews were 5 star reviews and had nothing but good to say about them. So, I decided to call them up and have them swing by for a quote.
Manny stopped by a day later at a time that was convenient for me. He was at my house for about 15 – 20 minutes. He looked at my old garage door and did a quick assessment, brought out some samples and a brochure, and answered all of my questions. I felt good about using them and decided to order a new door and opener. The price of everything installed and my old one hauled away was very reasonable and comparable to what I found online and over the phone at other places.
Two days later, again at a time that was convenient for me, Manny came on time to install my new garage door and garage door opener. He was very quick and professional. It took about 3 hours or so for him to do the complete haul away and install all by himself! Once he was finished he walked me through the opener and it’s features (light on/​off and lock feature) and was on his way. The new door and opener are great! They work perfectly! The new opener is much quieter than my old one too.
I would highly recommend calling these guys up. They do great work, are prompt, friendly, and competitive with their pricing. Manny also informed me that it’s him and his brother that do all the work. They don’t source anything out like other companies do.

Jesse was quick to respond and was able to be at my house an hour later since he was in the area. He was professional and able to fix my broken garage door on the spot and for a very reasonable price (I expected it to be more). I’d recommend A Plus to all my friends!

We had an old wooden garage door with an odd size and broken springs, we wanted a whole new door. We got other quotes, that were more money and a longer wait. A+ was not only cheaper but also got the job done in just days instead of weeks, they actually can out on Wednesday and my new door was installed by Friday morning.

On the recommendation of a friend, we called Jesse at A Plus (A+) Garage Door, who works all over the SouthBay. Our old wooden door was broken and the motor had not worked in a while. Jesse returned the call promptly, came out to assess the situation the same afternoon we called, and gave us options for replacement. After calling a few other providers, we discovered Jesse had given us an awesome price.
We authorized the work and two days later, Jesse arrived, on time, and removed our old door, installed the new one, and patiently gave us instructions, demos and warranty paperwork. We could not have been more pleased with the service and the results. We have friends in Playa del Rey who have used him extensively as well. I would recommend Jesse and A Plus in a heartbeat!

Had my ancient 1950’s garage door replaced. Showed up on time and did such a beautiful job! Took my old 300 lb wooden garage door away and was so surprised he was able to do it by himself! My garage door wheel had come out of the track and the cable had completely unwound from the take-​up real. I called several other garage door services, but we’re not available on the weekends. Thank goodness for A Plus Garage Doors!
Jesse responded quickly, and was professional. He fixed my door in under 30 minutes! Jesse was very knowledgable and left my garage neat and tidy.

Friday afternoon and after 14 (or more) years, the torsion spring on my garage door finally decided it was fed up, had enough, didn’t want to work any longer and forfeited its life (broke). How rude!
You would think «Eh, no problem» right? Wrong! There is NO way the opener could manage the heavy wooden door now and I can’t open or close the door without breaking my back or the door… so it MUST be fixed!
Like a good Unilocaler I search here for local garage door repair companies. Honestly I was surprised how many showed «Serving your local area» instead of listing a specific city. «I’m definitely going to avoid those!» I see one in Huntington Beach, call and set up an appointment for Saturday morning.
I continue searching and calling, then call A Plus Garage Doors and speak to Jesse. He is very personable and asks a lot of «the right questions» as opposed to just scheduling an appointment. He also came by just over an hour later (at no charge) to confirm which exact spring is needed for the repair. He then tells me «My brother Manny will be here between 8 & 9 am tomorrow». What is this? Only a ONE hour window? Wow! It turns out A Plus is a two man operation most of the time, only brothers Jesse & Manny.
I called the Huntington Beach place and cancelled. Even though their quote was $ 50 less, I just didn’t have a good vibe about them and had a feeling they would’ve tried to «nickel & dime me» for the repair.
Now Saturday morning and Manny arrives at 9:05 am. OMG he’s 5 minutes late! Don’t they know I have a LIFE and don’t have TIME to wait around ALL day for… Oh… wait… (it was ONLY a 1 hour window and he was ONLY 5 minutes late…) Well… (clears throat)… in the voice of Gilda Radners character, Emily Litella… «Never mind.»
Manny comes in and gets to work. Less than 2 hours later he’s packing up his tools and my garage door is operational again. Apparently the door and tracks have been slightly misaligned for a very long time and he adjusted them too! All for the same price as first quoted, $ 195! SCHWEET!
OVERALL: For a small local 2 man business, they were very personable, friendly, knowledgeable and did an awesome job done in a very timely manner!
