My latest favorite is the detox infra-​wraps, the results are amazing and Syl always makes me feel great throughout out the process. My body is a bit of a train wreck. I’ve had multiple car accidents, several surgeries and a fall down a stair case. In my journey back to health I have worked with untold numbers of physicians and therapists, and have even become a physician myself that specializes in neuromuscular medicine and rehabilitation.
Syl is hands down the single most gifted massage therapist I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She made changes in my body that I’d given up on hoping for. On an occasion when I had redeemed a gift certificate for different business that unbalanced my body and put me in awful pain, she took me in after hours on a Friday night and put me to rights. That’s simply the way she is.
She has an eye for detail and adheres to a high level of integrity in her work and products. She always goes the extra mile. I have referred a number of people to her and all of them have come back with rave reviews.

This was the most amazing and relaxing experience I have ever had. Syl was THE BEST therapist and was definitely worth the money I spent. She found every problem area of mine without me needing to point it out. I left feeling like I was floating a foot off the ground. I purchased a special with a body scrub. The fruity scent was mouth watering. I have very sensitive skin and am very picking about the products I put on my body, and these were all natural and gentle and I look forward to returning for a facial. If you have gone to any other spa in Long Beach and left feeling underwhelmed, make an appointment here and you will not be disappointed!!!

I had only good things to say until I was over charged. The owner said that she wasn’t sure if my recollection was correct. She agreed to credit my account the $$ amount. I used a portion of it for a massage and scheduled the next one. She called a couple hours before and said that she wasn’t feeling well. I said sure that’s no problem, I will call to reschedule. She still hasn’t returned any of my calls.
If that small amount of money is more important than keeping a customer and continuing a bi weekly schedule. So be it.

This place is amazing! This was my second time getting a spa treatment here. The owner is so genuine and sweet. The massage I had today was undoubtedly the best massage I’ve ever had! Unfortunately I was so relaxed I forgot the woman’s name who massaged me. Don’t pass this place up!

I can’t put into to words how amazing my experience was getting my massage from Sil… I have major back issues and I get deep tissue massages on a monthly basis as a result. Can I just tell you that I got the best massage of my life as a gift from my friend and I would pay this wonderfully talented masseuse $ 800 for an entire year of HER massages. The environment was safe (LOCKED DOOR Amen!), quaint & clean with an amazing energy that was just so positive!!! After my services we talked about other services, she offered to help with my other conditions and she gave me some homeopathic suggestions! So of course, I’m booked for additional services later this month; along with gifting the wonderful experience of her hands to some of my best girlfriends. I was truly blessed by my experience and dare u to try her once! You will be hooked too!

This is the place you’ve been looking for your entire life. I’ve been getting massages and facials for over 20 years from the most exclusive spas all over the country and the world. This is the most amazing treasure. The therapeutic massage is amazing — myself, my husband and daughter have all found significant improvement in our structural alignment and athletic ability. My husband has had terrible sleep and hasn’t been able to work out for the last 5 years because of neck pain and it is no long an issue. In the cases where I’ve received a relaxation massage I’ve always fallen asleep. The facials are exquisitely performed with a level of care and craftsmanship to my specific skin needs. Out of the hundreds of facials I’ve received, there is only one spa in Hong Kong that comes somewhat close to this spa’s knowledge of skin and organic therapies. Finally all the products used are 100% organic and while small, the space is clean and quiet and I feel 100% rejuvenated and relaxed walking out.
BTW: It is a small intimate spa with only 2 treatment rooms so don’t expect to walk in for an ad-​hoc consult. It is by appointment only. The reviewer who posted the comment about the spa being creepy and uninviting couldn’t be more off in her assessment. My family and friends can only hope that her review keeps others away so there are more available appointments for us! I’ve deliberately not posted a review of this spa because of selfish reasons but couldn’t help myself because in the end goodness should be shared, and once shared usually comes back multiplied.

This is the creepiest place I have ever been. I looked up places to get a facial and found this one with mostly 5 stars. I wanted to go in and have a consultation so that they could tell me what service to get for the specific problems I wanted fixed with my skin. When I showed up they had an open sign but it was very dark and not in a nice area so I was a bit skeptical. I tried to open the door and it was locked. The secretary heard me try to open the door and opened it a crack and spoke to me through the crack of the door. She told me to make an appointment online and there was no one to see me. I wasn’t invited in and was spoken to through a crack in the door. When I think spa I think serene not shady. Needless to say I will be taking my service to a well lit, open door, welcome to enter business in a good neighborhood

I have been to this Spa 3 times now and every time it just keeps getting better. The moment you walk in the door it’s as if you’re in a mystical place. The atmosphere is very inviting and relaxing. The staff are friendly, accommodating, and there to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. It is always clean and the scents wafting through the air are just the beginning of your relaxing spa experience.

Hands down the best waxing place in the city! I have been going here for years and absolutely love the wax they use. It smells great and hurts less — both pluses in my books! The staff are fantastic, super friendly and accommodating (highly recommend Karla for your waxing!!). The facilities are clean, spacious and modern. I also enjoy their online booking system, which lets you pick your waxer, date and time without having any awkward phone conversations! Highly recommend this place!

I purchased a body scrub from Groupon and had a great experience. I’ve never had a body scrub before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Clearly, high quality products and a very relaxing environment. The only negative is that the pressure was too rough for me. Maybe that’s normal for a scrub? Overall, great place and as a bonus my BF kept commenting on how soft my skin was.

I have had my share of massages in my day; however, nothing like this one! What a hidden jewel this place is. i walked in feeling like a pretzel and floated out feeling so great. i did not hesitstate to book my next appointment. This was a true relaxing experience. i highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an actual therapeutic massage. i plan to invite girlfriends to experience a wonderful relaxing moment!

Karen is a petite young lady but her hands are magic and very strong. My 90 min massage was simply fantastic.
Syl is quite possibly the sweetest thing this side of the Mississippi. She is very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. She went above and beyond during my facial and made it a very pleasant experience.
A Silent Moment made a great first impression and I can’t wait to see these ladies again.
You will not be disappointed if you choose A Silent Moment!

I have been coming here regularly since I moved to LB and have found a new friend that is sweet but also very professional. Syl cares about your inside as much as your outside and always makes me feel like I have been on a relaxing vacation. Some of my best hours have been spent here. Prices are reasonable and products are wonderful!

I made an error here and I want to correct it.
I say Groupon like Kleenex or Xerox.
And my coupon was actually with Amazon.
LUCKILY Sil caught it and fixed it.
I think its a disservice to call it a Thai massage. Sil has a unique technique; she should trademark it! She is strong for being so small.
Also, when I asked, «Is there incense burning?» Sil got me outdoors so fast I only had
a slight headache. And she aired the place out FAST! I really appreciate effort like that.

Upon entering the front door, I received a very warm, endearing, uplifting welcome from the owner of the spa. Her overall energy was serene and inspiring. I sincerely hoped she would be providing my massage services for the day, but I was assisted by another staff person (a female whose name escapes me). I should note that in scheduling my appointment I debated between a 60 and 90 minute massage. I probably jinxed myself by deciding that I would rather have a shorter session in the event that the massage was not as relaxing as I had hoped. Well… this turned out to be the case. The entire time, I felt that I was not receiving a massage, but rather gentle application of moisturizing oils and lotion. I did not feel that the technique was thorough and that the time devoted to each body part was well managed.
I certainly did not leave disappointed — particularly because the price I paid was reduced due to the contributions of a gift card received over the holidays. After reading the experiences of other reviewers, I would be open to returning to A Silent Moment, but only under the care of another masseuse/​specialist.

I loved it! I had a 60 minute massage with a 30 min. add on.
«A Silent Moment» is just that. I was able to completely relax, clear my mind and enjoy 90 wonderful minutes of bliss. Syl’s hands felt like magic. Her soothing voice and great energy was amazing. She knew exactly where my pain and problem areas were, without me telling her. She teaches you to breath through it and relax your mind as well as your body. She may look petite, but, is amazingly strong!
It was so therapeutic physically and mentally. I have been to many massage places and this hidden gem surpasses them all!
Syl called me the next day to follow up on how I was feeling. Such personalized and wonderful customer service. Just like another review said, focus on you is 100%.
Some tips:
— You can schedule appt. on line from website. She will customize your treatment when you come in. I recommend 90 minute treatment. 60 minutes I would have been wanting more!
— Drink a lot of water the day BEFORE and do not shave 24 hours prior to your appt.
— First appt. arrive 10 – 15 minutes prior to fill out paperwork and pick your scrub flavor.
— If you get a scalp massage, it will be with oil, so, plan on having slightly oily hair afterwards.
–Great monthly specials and VIP monthly massages.
— It is located just north of 4th Street. East side of Ximeno, There are 2 parking spots in the alley, next to her shop.

This an unexpected jewel in Long Beach. When I’m tired of the buzz of the city this is my little hide away. Their facility is fresh and relaxing. When I walk in, I automatically feel calm… maybe it’s the light scent of organic yumminess in the air.
I’ve been addicted to this place from my first visit. Had A garden of youth facial and a delicious massage with an organic blend to tone and firm made of hot guava and coconut milk. Love it!!!
