I used Unilocal to look up some info and noticed that there were not any current reviews. As a patient of Dr Pagliano’s for years, I first met Dr Aslmand when he worked with Dr. P. Since then and now for years Dr Aslmand has taken care of my orthodics, in-​grown toe nails, nail fungus, neromas, and a bone spur. He always explains his work, is efficient and friendly. He listens to my concerns and takes care of my feet. I am a hiker and my feet are important, Dr Aslmand cares and make sure I can do the activities that are important to me. Thanks

As a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM), he is a medical specialist who is trained in human anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, sociological and psychological perspectives, general medicine, surgery and pharmacology.
He is a Specialist of Podiatric Physicians, this is extraordinary, as he is among podiatrists with additional postgraduate training or fellowship training and experience in specialized fields, in other words, an expert.
Three years ago, Dr. Aslmand, got-​me-​back-​to running. His knowledge in sports medicine, identified fractures, determined displacement, and surgically repaired angular toes that caused discomfort during physical activities. Over the several weeks recovery, he ensured I was seen by him at least twice per week. His is empathetic and well-​mannered. He also recently helped to correct my runner’s stance by creating orthotics to counter my flat-​footedness. I have never felt better — no cramps, shin splints, or back pain; and I’m back on track with spin, pilates, and running.
Dr. Aslmand, and his staff at Advanced Foot and Ankle Center, Inc. also specialize in biomechanics, geriatrics, and orthopedics.
He is one good guy, skilled surgeon, and one who will not be defeated. Pardon the pun.

Dr. Aslmand is extremely knowledgeable and very professional. After going to numerous foot doctors in Los Angeles, I was referred to Dr. Aslmand and I’m so happy I made the decision to visit him. Dr. Aslmand is prompt and friendly when treating me, including his incredible staff. I highly recommend Dr. Aslmand to anyone looking for an excellent foot doctor.

After my half marathon, I had two nasty blood blisters from not trimming my toe nails. I called the office and they were able to schedule an appointment that was compatible with my work and school schedule. Dr. Aslmand removed my blood blisters quickly and painlessly. Dr. Aslmand and his staff are great! He’s personable and caring.

I saw Dr. Aslmand for a running related injury. After going to multiple foot doctors in Los Angeles and not getting the right answer, I decided to make the drive to Long Beach after my friend highly recommended his office. On the first visit I was very impressed by his quick diagnosis and prompt and accurate treatment. Interesting that doctors at prominent UCLA and Cedars were not able to figure out. It has been three months and my foot pain is resolved with his shoe recommendation and the custom orthotics he made for me. Also, his staff was super friendly and accommodating with my schedule which was a big plus. So if you have Achilles issues and are not getting better, give this office a call.

Before Dr. Pagliano passed away I had been seeing him here for over 10 years due to various issues that ended up recurring no matter what thanks to another unrelated injury. He was fantastic both as a person and as a doctor.
Dr. Aslmand on the other hand, while practically equally skilled as a podiatrist, doesn’t actually consider anything more than his personal thoughts of what is best and goes through with it even against your will. I was charged over $ 800 in fees incurred due to things he forcibly did after I requested him multiple times not to yet he simply did anyway. Having had this same exact thing done to me for, again, over 10 years including from Aslmand himself multiple times (without the things he forcibly used this time) — both him and I knew it was not necessary because of that. However he chose to instead quickly use several (apparently very expensive) products within about a 10 second time frame which added up extremely fast on a bill that unexpectedly showed up shortly after.
I don’t think it’s an issue of him purposefully doing it for financial gain, I’m not saying he’s some kind of extortionist — I just think he’s lacking in the ability to consider every consequence his actions can cause to the patient and doesn’t take the time to listen to said patient. Patients are not doctors so sure they don’t usually know best, but if they say «do not do that» and it’s 100% totally safe to not do that, you don’t do it, or you at least discuss it with them rather than forcing it onto them. Especially in a case where you have experience with that patient and know this same surgery you’re doing these products were never used any times you’ve worked on them.
So while this place is fantastic in terms of the quality of work and care, don’t be surprised when it comes with surprise hidden fees or having your personal wishes actively ignored even when the issue is one that could be discussed further or is unnecessary. The former may be something all medical visits anywhere may have in one way or another, but the latter is somewhat disturbing to consider. I’d give 5 stars for actual quality of work, but I can’t give it more than 2 considering everything else. It may be a rare occurrence and not at all common, I wouldn’t know how often this sort of thing happens here to others — but I can say either way it happened to me and ended up costing me almost a thousand dollars out of pocket so it’s not something to go in completely ignorant of as a possibility.

I am a marathon runner and went here when I was experiencing pain in the heel of my foot — he diagnosed me with Plantar Fasciitis and helped me come up with a plan for relief along with keeping with my normal running schedule. After a month sleeping in a specific boot, a cortisone shot and new insoles I was good as new. It’s nice having a doctor who shows interest in his patients and their lifestyle without just telling you to take some time off from running and you’ll heal. He’s friendly, polite and the staff is really helpful. I never had a problem getting an appointment and appreciate him taking care of my beat up feet!

Very awesome doctor and super sweet staff. I needed an appointment asap two weeks ago and Debbie was very helpful making sure I had everything and knew how to get here. When I met with Dr. Aslmand he was very kind and polite. He even made some jokes with my boyfriend and that helped ease some of the tension of the whole appointment! Now two weeks later I had my follow up and everything looks great so far. I like that he’s honest and very personable! Thanks Dr. Aslmand!

i like the doctor alsmand. he is a great doctor n he has helped me alot but i dnt luke his staff sometimes they look like they dnt know what they r doing. n that old kinda blond lady .she is not friendly n when i get there n the dr is not in yet she is always on the phone talking n trust me it aint no business talk. but he is awesome.

I visited Dr. Aslmand for my painful achilles tendon after I started training for LA marathon. I had previously seen another podiatrist in a big busy clinic and he basically was a complete waste of time. He told me to ice, rest, take mortin and stop running for a while. After being recommended to see Dr. Aslmand for a second opinion, he watched me walk, analysed my gait, did a total exam which took over half hour and gave a splint and lifts to put in my shoes and told me to start running but very slowly. That was great news for me, since I had almost wanted to drop out of training.
The following visit with him I was fitted for orthotics which were great. He warned me not to wear the orthotics since they were so close to the marathon but his new shoes recommendation and treatment protocol were a lifesaver.
I finished my first marathon thanks to him. I have referred a few of my friends to him already and they all are raving about him. Thanks Dr. A!!! You got your patient for life

Update: it has been three months now that I have got my orthotics and my heel pain is now completely gone. I highly recommend Dr Aslmands expertise.

Dr Aslmand and his staff are great. Had a last minute emergency appointment, his office welcomed me with open arms. Dr Aslmand immediately noticed that I broke a certain bone in my foot. MRI confirmed he was correct. This was completely missed by a doctor I saw in Orange County.

Dr. Aslmand is easy to work with and his office is very organized. He has done wonders to help both of my feet through torn plantar fascias.

Advanced Foot and Ankle Center makes it extremely easy to become a new patient. They have a website with pertinent information, a link to ZocDoc to make an appointment online, and a link to the New Patient Form so you can submit it online instead of filling it out when you arrive.
In terms of appointment availability, they seem to have appointments available all day. In fact, I was able to make a same-​day appointment. And from the online appointment system, it appears that they’ll schedule appointments as late as 4:40pm, which is nice.
In terms of the appointment itself, I had a very short wait time in the waiting room and a very short wait time once I was put into a patient room. Dr. Aslmand was very friendly and I found it very easy to talk to him. He focused on the problems that I presented and then examined my foot in its entirety to make sure everything else was okay. Anything he could do in-​office he did (for example, resolve those darn ingrown toenails that no pedicurist has been able to), discussed a plan of action for me, told me to come back in two weeks, and I was on my way. I felt good emotionally (because I was really ticked off that my feet were hurting and were impacting my ability to run) and physically because my feet felt better than they had in weeks!
So if your feet are bothering you in any way, make an appointment (same-​day!) and go. You will feel great!

I had the good fortune to be referred to Dr. Aslmand last year after tearing my plantar fascia. The treatment and care I received from him and his staff was beyond measure. This year, after exhausting other less-​invasive options, I had to have surgery to relieve a growing discomfort from a neuroma. After having the surgery, I realized I hadn’t even considered getting a second opinion! He and his office staff instill a wonderful level of confidence in both the medical approach he takes as well as the care and compassion patients would expect.

I have been seeing Dr. Aslmand for over four years for a variety of foot and ankle problems. He helped me when I thought I had run out of options. Dr. Aslmand will try non-​surgical techniques. If those don’t work, he will perform surgery if necessary. I have had a neuroma removed (twice), major repair of my ankle, and surgery for plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. Dr. Aslmand is very approachable and friendly. His front office staff is very friendly as well. It’s easy to get in to see him, and if it’s an emergency, you can be seen the same day. I highly recommend Dr. Aslmand to anyone who is having foot or ankle pain. He is professional, compassionate, available, and knowledgeable.

I’ve have been going to Dr. Aslmand for months because of my plantar fasciitis and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. It’s always easy to make an appt. and I can see him the same week. The front office are nice and I’m seen within 15 mins after I get there. Dr. Aslmand is always smiling and knew what my problem was right away. He explained what I had and what were my options. I’ve received two steroid injections in my heel and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I feel very comfortable being under his care. I don’t mind driving 23 mins, 17 miles to be treated by him again and again. I’m having my mom see him next week for her bunion and would recommend him to anyone else who has foot problems.
