History

Established in 1982.

Dr. Barton Wachs received his medical degree from the University of California at Irvine. His residency training included general surgery, anesthesia, and urology training. His urology residency was completed at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Board-​certified urologist, Dr. Barton Wachs, established the Atlantic Urology Medical Group in 1982 to provide compassionate urological care and vasectomy services to patients in Los Angeles and Orange County.

Dr. Wachs offers years of experience and advanced training in urology, urological surgery, including minimally invasive and drug treatments. He offers special expertise in no-​scalpel vasectomy, VasClip, vasectomy reversal, ultrasound testing, urodynamics for incontinence, laser treatment of genital warts, and surgeries for prostate cancer.

Dr. Wachs is a great guy. It was one of those experiences where I went in really worried that I had a serious problem. Dr. Wachs took the time to explain things to me in detail and alleviated all fears. It is a busy office, but it’s clean. Which is a big deal to me. Office appears to have been recently remodeled too.

I tried to set up an appointment. I called and spoke to a lady about setting up an appointment. She said she would transfer me to someone who sets up the appointments, but I got that persons voicemail so I left a message. I did not get a call back so the next day I called and spoke to the same person that answered my call. Instead of making an appointment for me she said the person who does the appointments was out and would call me. back the next day. Again, no return call. Lesson, if they do not care enough with returning calls or making appointments they do not care about patients. Going somewhere else.

Dr. Wachs is a really nice guy with a light spirit and sense of humor. My only complaint is that their office is a little too casual. He’s a really busy guy, so expect to sit around for quite some time before getting in. Also, you’ll want to somehow get the office peoples’ attention because they won’t be constantly checking the sign-​in sheet. The first two times I went in, I didn’t see him till at least 45 mins after my appointment time. The third time, I knew better and shouted to get some attention. Having said all that, my medical experience went great and paying bills was easy and straightforward. If you’re not in a time-​crunch, don’t worry about everything I’ve just said… just expect to be patient.
