I know most of these candy stores are overpriced– you could probably purchase individual packages of each item for less than you spend on a few pieces thrown into a bag, but ultimately, it’s fun to do it this way.

I love candy. Pretty decent priced candy, I have not paid more than $ 7 for one bag yet. They got a good selection too. Licorice wheels, cinnamon bears, coca-​cola bottles, sour tape.
Right next to a movie theatre. Just sneak the candy in with your pockets or purse. The workers here are always nice. A plus, they accept credit card too.

Purchased 3 small bags of candy for $ 17.
I tried a piece or two of nearly everything the store had to offer (I was excited!!!), & out of those pieces, almost ALL of it was stale. The gummy candies were barely chewable and like rocks. I ended up throwing most of it out.
I will not be purchasing candy from here ever again. Nothing like paying good money for old, stale candy.

This cozy little candy shop is ideally situated next to the AMC theater. A family-​owned and operated gem, this is the perfect place to grab your favorite treat before you head to the movies.
Some of the negative reviews on here are funny, but they’re also a total joke. This place is awesome.

As has been said it is convenient to the Movie Theater but it also has a lot going for it.
The size, layout and organization makes it easy to see what they have and what you may want. I have been in other candy shops that made it harder to find and figure out what I wanted. The prices are not as bad as many places; Certainly better than movie concessions.
Good selection of jelly bellies and chocolate treats for eating during a movie. A favorite for us is the selection of classic candies, candy bars and more to take with you. At other times the prices may seem high but this way it’s much cheaper than what you would pay otherwise.

Perfect location next to the movie theater! The selection is great! I love gummy everything! The prices were pretty cheap compared to mall candy shops. Totally will go back whenever I’m in the parking lot or going to a movie!

My newest discovery at Bön Bön candy store is the «Dolfin Belgium Chocolats» gift box. It’s nine different, unique flavors of chocolate (or «chocolat» if you’re from Belgium) all packaged in 10 gram, single bite wrappers. You get three bars of each flavor for a total of 27 bars.
My favorite flavors are the «Speculoos», Hazelnut and Orange. The speculoos bar is made from milk chocolate and has tiny chunks of speculoos cookies in it. Yumbo!
The total price for the gift box: $ 21.49
Good service. Good deal. Good chocolate!

This place has about every piece of candy you could think of along with a large assortment of Jelly Belly flavors. A great place to stock up prior to your movie next door.
However, very overpriced. Three small scoops of candy will run you about $ 6.

I ordered my favorite: dark chocolate raspberry jelly sticks. It was ridiculously overpriced. After driving half way home and then opening the bag and taking one bite I threw the whole thing in the trash. The candy was so old it tasted like rotten stale peanuts.

Came here before seeing Prometheus and got a small bag of sour gummies for $ 3.10. They have a pretty large variety, including my favorite, Mexican candy =). The only downfall was all the candy seemed a little old. Seemed like they have been sitting around for a long time =S.

The scene last night, was just like a kid in a candy store…
Oh, wait! That was exactly the situation when we took the littlest rug rat to his first candy store visit. I must say, it was pretty much for my benefit only, as I knew he would freak out and not be able to control himself.
As we entered Bön Bön, I watched the amazement upon his face when it registered that what he was seeing, was indeed happening. He looked around for a second and then screamed «treeeeeeeats,» and began hopping up and down.
What happened next was all parenting intuition, I scoped him into my arms a split second before he was able to get his grubby little hands into a candy bin. With him tucked under my arm, screaming «treeeeeeats» while kicking his legs and hitting himself in the head with his hands, he continued to he scream, unable to contain his excitement. Now, usually, I’d give him an advance taste by giving him something to tie him over.
However, the store owner had signs posted saying «No Sampling,» obviously because if it isn’t weighed, then you aren’t paying for it. It is not like opening a bag of M&Ms at the store that you pay for on your way out.
I hadn’t anticipated this conundrum and a bead of sweat broke across my brow as I realized we could be in trouble here, a full meltdown was only seconds away. Like one of those stories of super human strength, my wife sprang into action and began haphazardly putting candy in the bag so we could wrap this up quickly before a total meltdown insued.
The owner was amused at the entire scene, I am sure he has seen it before. Our little bag of candy totaled almost $ 7, which I considered questioning (when did candy get so expensive?), but I was in no position to negotiate with my child or the store owner…
I paid, exited and calmed my spastic child with pure sugary eats, like any good parent would do. And, I enjoyed every second of it!

I have a major sweet tooth. Such a major sweet tooth that, at the tender age of 23, I found a cavity during my last dentist visit.
That being said, when I saw this candy store next to Barnes and Noble, I was genuinely excited. They had a great selection of candy and some that I had no seen before. I love sour tape and their watermelon and peach sour tapes were amazingly addictive, I wish I had gotten more.
The chocolate covered raisins, mocha, and cookie dough were tasty as well. So why the 3 star rating? As you can tell from other reviews, some of the candy is old, like world war 2 old. Stale pieces of candy, and you can tell that the less popular candy is never really exchanged. The store is very small but there is not much wasted space and the price of the candy was more than I’d expect from such a small business.
I will definitely return for some chocolate and sour tape, but please lower the prices, or you’ll risk making my teeth look cleaner.

I definitely have a sweet tooth and Bön Bön has always satisfied with their broad selection of candy. In particular, they are one of the few candy stores which carries cantaloupe Jelly Belly jelly beans in addition to other classics like sizzling cinnamon, bubble gum, and Dr. Pepper. Yeah, the candy’s expensive for being a bunch of high fructose corn syrup mixed with carnuba wax, cocoa, and food colorings, but I’m pretty sure it’s cheaper than the candy inside the movie theater. It’s always nice to buy a bag of goodies before going to see a movie, directly around back from the candy store.

This evening, I decided to go to Best Buy in Marina Pacifica (the same shopping center in which Bön Bön is located) and I saw in bold letters CANDY. I’m a sucker for candy, and so I decided to go in, grab a little bag to have with me while I browse around Best Buy.
Disgusting! The sour gummy candies looked old (what candy packages look like at Blockbuster that had been sitting there for years). You know when it has that super sticky look. I’m a big fan of chocolate-​covered gummy bears. And theirs were shaped awkwardly. Looks like they dipped the gummy bears in cheap chocolate and just threw it in a box or something without caring about the appearance. So I didn’t pick those up. I was already in there, so I felt it would be rude to look into the containers and walk out. I tried out their «sno-​caps»… I figured I couldn’t go wrong with those… DISGUSTING! They left a really weird taste in my mouth. I was licking my teeth and each time I did, I could taste that weird sour flavor that it left in my mouth.
I didn’t even finish the bag. I threw it out. And I seriously wanted to throw up from the taste it left.
I know it’s tempting to pick up some candy before you go to AMC theaters (located next to it) but it would just be a waste of money.

A small candy shop with many sweets to choose from. As I walked in, a lady had just finished paying for over a hundred bucks worth of jelly beans. I’m guessing she was going to use the beans for some kind of party.
Meanwhile, I had a little celebration of my own… appointing which confection will be emancipated from their plastic slammer. Some of my favs consist of sour gummy coke bottles, buttery popcorn jelly beans, banana runts, gumballs and novelty candies like violet crumble. I believe anyone who has a sweet tooth will definitely crack a smile in here (if not a decayed tooth). ;)

Pricey, but comprehensive, this is probably the best candy store in Long Beach in terms of selection. They don’t have as many of the novelty candies like Powell’s, but they have a great selection of everything else.

Expensive as hell but a very nice selection of all sorts of candies! YUMMMMMM.
If only there was a neat new type of hard to melt chocolate, ha ha. damn hot car interiors!

There are not too many true «candy stores» around anymore. Sure there’s Sees Candy but where’s the gummy bears? Where are the Zagnuts? Where are my Pop Rocks?! They can all be found here at Bön Bön!
A relatively small store… long and narrow… nestled in the bottom corner underneath The Sports Authority. While the store is small, the selection is big. You have tons of bulk candies ranging from the well known to retro (where can you find wax lips, gum cigarettes and wax bottles under one roof???) and hard to find. They also sell pre-​packaged candies of all kinds.
Tip of the day: going to the movies located in the same shopping center? Stop by this place first and load up on your candies. This tip is more for the ladies with their ginormous purses and handbags. You will save a lot of money if you buy here rather than buying at the movies.
Also in reference to Nick. H’s review, parking can be sketchy sometimes, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. People going to the movies will take up a majority of spaces. weekdays and weeknights are pretty smooth.
Your dreams of being a kid in a candy store can now be achieved!!!

Lots of Candy!
This store is long and very narrow in length. They have bulk candies and a variety of items. It is similar to the candy stores in the mall. I actually came in to purchase a giant Hello Kitty Pez dispenser. It was $ 29.99.
I will come back to pick up some sweets, but want to check out another local store first. Parking is easy and there is plenty of it.
This is a great place to pick up gifts for birthdays and the holidays. Pretty cool place!
