City Loan

Stay far away from these damn vultures and snakes. I went to pay off my loan in full and was told they needed a credit card authorization form. One of their idiot brokers told me to complete the form and email it back to him, which I did. They took the money out of my account and the transaction went off just fine. Two weeks later, another one of their idiot «brokers» emails me and says that I need to print out the credit card authorization form and mail it to them with a live signature, even though they sure kept my money and I hadn’t canceled the transaction and my bank processed it through with no problem. They are threatening to keep my title if I don’t jump through their hoops, even though I am paid in full and don’t owe them one red cent. They also promised me $ 50 worth of gift cards that I never got for being a «V.I.P. member». Bunch of liars and crooks. They’re basically trying to steal my car. do yourself a favor and stay far away from these vultures!

Bunch of retards working here!!! Do do not use them they wasted 2 days of my time had me switch my title to CA then add them to it, sign the contract, then never pay Me,!!! Serially Fraud here. I had to wait 2 weeks and pay the DMV 75 $ plus I only needed money due to a time restraint. Just do go with another company. Very very low people that work to rip you off.
Never ever deal with this company I’m begging you. Was a nightmare I was in tears thought my 2012 merc was getting fraudulently taken.

If they could receive a negative rating… It would be –10 stars. HORRIBLE company. I took a loan out on our truck for $ 3000. Ended up paying more than triple that back to them. When there was only about $ 800 left on the loan, they called in the loan. They wouldn’t give me 24 hours to come up with the money. I had to deal with «Walter X». This company is a scam and talk about harassment. They will put your vehicle out for repo for no valid reason. After we paid off our loan, they wouldn’t release the title for 2 months. RUN AWAY

All I have to say is don’t deal with cityloan you will regret it you’ll probably have nightmares. When you make your payment keep track of everything your receipt your conformation from payment. They will not apply your payment and they will say you still owe more on your loan than you really do. Don’t trust them if your in need of cash think about it before you get a loan from them. You’ll regret it trust me. I had to leave a star but I didn’t have a choice.

Never– Ever will I do business w/​this establishment again! I always got the rude, unprofessional Manny on the phone. No manners, friendly personality what so ever. He answered and spoke to you like he was talking to some one on his home phone. No matter what time of day I called– always got him. And their website sucked. Payment would not go thru & if you clicked to speak to a customer service person– good luck, no one would answer!

I wish I could give them a ZERO rating. The make it easy to get a loan and the representative was very nice. But once you receive the loan, look out. The account rep who had my account was a lier and an asshole! They lie on their radio ad telling you they’ll work with you. That BS!!! They do not even consider working with people. The rep (Tony De’leon) told me I had until Thursday to get my late payment in but sent a tow truck out that Tuesday and impounded my car. They added all kinds of fees to get it back and if I hadn’t paid the entire loan off, they were going to have it sold at a public auction. The only thing that saved me is the tow company was closed the morning that the auction company came to pick it up. They actually towed my car twice. All City Loan wants is your car so they can make money off it. They are not to be trusted AT ALL! And to top it all of, they purposely did something to keep me from registering my car. City loan is a shady, rip off company!!!

Only 1 star because I can’t give 0. Felt so discriminated… said because I was military they won’t give me a loan. I am reserve not even active duty so she said she can’t lend to me because she said I was they don’t want to pay me a low rate if I deploy because they lose money… Wow. By law soldiers who get deployed and go into a active duty status and fight for city loans freedom have to drop the rate which is called soldiers relief act. Well as soon as she found out I was military she stopped right there and ended the call. shame on you and your company to.

Don’t FUCK with them, you’d be better off borrowing from the mob. I borrowed $ 5000 in March paying $ 516 a month, ready to pay off the loan by Dec (8 months)…had to pay $ 5900 to be considered paid in full. Their interest rates are higher than an overdosed near death crack head.

Although I’ve always received good customer service from this company and have never had any issues within the year that I’ve done business with them, today I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience with them. I’ve never asked for an extension on my payment EVER, and today I asked for a 2 week extension due to having to pay for my son’s funeral, and the representative literally yelled «NO»!! «IF YOU DON’T MAKE THE PAYMENT BY FRIDAY IT WILL BE OUT FOR REPOSESSION»!! Then he went and put in a note that I refused to make the payment, which was totally untrue. I simply stated that I would call back and speak with my rep when he returned from lunch. I can’t believe that a company would be so insensitive, especially during this time of year. Horrible business practice and total disregard for loyal customers, and humankind in general.

I would give a negative 5 five star to this business if i can. Avoid this loan shark at all time. They nothing but liars and crooks. Their interest is ridiculously high around 180% APR. The customer service is a joke. I applied for the auto loan the 1^st time because I desperately needed some money for my online business. I paid off the loan in two weeks. They lied about surrendering my title. It took almost a month to get my title back. The 2^nd time, I needed emergency money again and they charged even a higher rate and when I barely missed my first payment more than a day and they called to threten me — a return customer with previous good credit. TURN AROUND AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Don’t go to city loan, they will lie to you and rip you off. They really act and talk to you like they’re in a mafia. And don’t believe or go by the video they have cause they pay people to say something nice about city loan. They paid me a hundred dollars to say something nice about city loan. Then after they get what they needed from you they treat you like you’re some type of criminal. That’s why they took the video down and put another one up of someone else cause they know what they did to me, and they know I was coming to Unilocal to let the world know what type of thieving criminals they are. And also they put people in the office looking at your personal info and teaching them how to work the system, and these guys were the ones that was working out side moving cars around and cleaning up the yard. Be very aware, these people are like demons. And don’t believe the videos they put together it’s a total lie of who they really are. Don’t deal with city loan at all, save yourself the frustration and money.

I took out a title loan with these guys and although they held their end of the bargain just like I did, they still did things that were pretty fishy. I spoke to loan consultants here months (yes, months) before getting a loan to ensure I knew what I was getting myself into. They kept saying the loan would be an 8% monthly interest rate which is BARELY true. It’s 8% that accumulates annually which makes it more than a 100% interest rate. Also, the couple of months I was consulting in getting a loan with them they didn’t inform me until I get there that they put a GPS on the cars they use as collateral. Ummmm, okay. You couldn’t tell me ALL this before I came in the office? It’s for sure a ploy for them to get customers to walk in. I paid off the loan about 10 days after getting it. I just needed it for my travels. When I paid it off, the employee I was working with said that their office should receive my pink slip in 10 business days. I call 10 business days later and their DMV department said that they haven’t even started the process of getting my pink slip back from California DMV. So had I not called the paperwork still would’ve not been processed. My opinion is I really don’t think businesses like this should exist. They definitely charge interest so high that it should be illegal but it unfortunately isn’t. One would have to be truly desperate to get a title loan with such high interest. Although my business and transaction with them wasn’t as bad as others, I wouldn’t go with them again simply because of the high interest and their sketchy business practices. Borrowed $ 5k and two days later I paid in full but surprisingly paid close to $ 5,600. I was told verbally I will pay about $ 250 in interests if paid in full by two weeks but when paying the full balance in two days they charged me almost $ 600 dollars because of interests and administration fees. They will not give me my car title immediately until my vehicle was inspected because they never told me a tracking device was placed in my vehicle. I am sure they are not allowed to place a tracking device on your vehicle and if they do, they should let inform you about it.
WARNING TO ALL POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS! VERBALLY THEY MAKE THE LOAN OFFER SOUND GOOD BUT THERE ARE HIDDEN FEES THEY DO NOT EXPLAIN SUCH AS THE $ 500 ON ADMINISTRATION FEES??? I will not recommend going there and check other places first such as Speedy Cash.
Currently, I am still waiting for my car title to be given to me and have been waiting over a week even though I paid the full balance in two days.

Criminals… They take advantage of people in desperate situations. They charge excessive fees and repo cars when they want. They tell you to make a payment to stop Repo and then shut down the site so you can’t make a payment and then repo car. They then make you run around and tell you that you need police releases for the vehicle from your local PD. Local PD say that’s not true… Every day they have your car it costs more money and more money and more money. It’s their way to once again show they are criminals. Stay away. I know sometimes desepation is a terrible feeling but dealing with these people is worse than making a deal with the devil.

Obtaining a loan from this place will be one of the biggest mistakes of your life. This so-​called «business» takes advantage of a loophole in California law. California law prohibits lenders from predatory lending to customer by placing caps on interest rates. However, lenders such as city loan get around that provision by using a loophole in California’s usury limit and only allowing loans in excess of $ 2,500. If you do your research you will find that there are many law suits across the country by people who have been taken advantage of title loan companies. Most of these companies will charge borrowers between 80−150% interest loans and be misleading about how repayment works. They take advantage of people who have no where else to turn for money. Unfortunately, I did this research much too late. They are deceitful in that they give you an amoritization schedule and you think you are paying off all of the interest every month. Then when you go to pay off the loan they hit you with a different amount. I took out a loan for the minimum amount of $ 2, 500.
According to the amoritization (interest to principle) schedule they gave me over a nine month period I paid $ 2,022.34 in interest and $ 184.28 went towards the principle, but then when I went to pay off the loan, thinking it will be about $ 2,300 (original loan amount minus the $ 184 applied towards the principle), they tell me $ 2, 811.80 is the pay-​off amount!!! This is an additional $ 500 in interest! These people are a bunch of crooks and their uncourteous staff should feel ashamed of themselves for doing this as a career. They try to defend these high interest loan by printing on the contract that you should try to borrow money elsewhere (this is silly as most people trying to secure a loan from them are doing so as a last resort already.
I absolutely concede that I knew I was agreeing to borrow money at an interest rate of 111%, but I was deceived on how the repayment worked (the amoritization schedule). This is in fact against California law (unconscionable contract) and I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT GET A LOAN HERE, NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE YOU ARE FOR CASH.

Not a good company! Lies, forges loan documents and inserts fees you did not agree to. Dont ever sign your car over to these people you will regret it!

if your late for even one payment they send your car out to get repo’d many of the repo company’s that City loan uses rip you off with ether doing an inventory of the stuff in your car then charging you to get your stuff back or with additional fees for getting your car out of their impound lot, be very careful this company will lie to your face just so you can sign the paperwork. In all I’d have to admit you must be a very desperate individual to even consider selling your car that’s probably worth 10k for only 2.5k because that’s exactly what your doing by getting a loan with these guys or any other title loan company.
