DogPACT

So I’m crazy enough that I adopted a puppy right before I had my first baby. I know, what’s wrong with me? Luckily, I found Kelli at Dog Pact! She’s been so great with our one on one training sessions, and my pup is always SO excited to see her (probably because she comes armed with treats!). She helped us immensely with his separation anxiety, not to mention his puppy manners. I’m so happy to have found them, and have definitely recommended them to family and friends with new dogs.

We have taken the Puppy Kindergarten and Pet Manners classes so far and we are very impressed. Kelli and Angela introduced me to a style of training that was new to me, positive reinforcement. They are very caring and patient during the classes. We never feel like we are being judged when our pup isn’t behaving, instead they provide us with insight on why she is acting as so and give us techniques to correct it. I have such a great relationship with my dog now and give them much of the credit. Their style of training feels so much better than the old fashioned style of training with choke chains, etc. I plan on taking many more classes from the DogPact. I especially appreciate all of the information and care that Angela has given to my dog Misty and I — She is great!

I have been using Dogpact for training my dogs for several years. Everything from puppy kindergarten, pet manners, agility and nose work. The staff is friendly, professional and very knowledgeable and helpful. I fully recommend. They know dogs and can help you know them too!

The classes are fantastic, full of valuable information and all practical. Terry’s fine tuning techniques resulted in remarkable and immediate results with Chloe’s behavior. Angela’s added energy with positive reinforcement is priceless. Even if it is a group class it felt like i was still getting one on one training that was applicable to my needs. And most of all Chloe loves the classes and looks forward to them — cant beat that!

We have taken both the puppy socialization and pet manners courses through dogpact. As first time dog owners we were trying different types of methods to train our puppy with lots of struggle. From our first puppy class we walked away with many tips and training methods that helped us see immediate results. The positive training methods they implement are very easy and effective as long as you are consistent, our young daughters use them too! The puppy socialization classes are great because you are able to see the puppies play with each other and the trainer explains the behaviors and referees the play session. They also teach the owners some of the basics to set the foundations of their dog’s training. It transitions really well into the pet manners course where you are able to build on what they’ve already learned and to advance their training. We have worked with both Ryan and Nikki, they are both wonderful trainers and we would recommend their courses to anyone.

I first came to DogPACT from a referral from my vet. I stayed because of the talent. From day 1 Terry made me feel welcome and hopeful for my problem child. I have learned so much from her. She is both patient and understanding adjusting the training to both my and my dog’s needs. If you have a problem dog, just need some obedience lessons or simply want to try agility, DogPACT is the place to go.

The group classes through the city were great. I wish we had the same experience with individual sessions. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE… unreliable, very little focus on the issue that made us make the decision to get one on one training, unprofessional. I wish I had gone with my «gut feeling» and asked for my money back after our trainer was a no-​show at session 2. Bottom line– great methods for training, awesome group classes through the city, waste of money for the individual training.

I own a shy dog that as a pup showed fear/​aggression. I wanted to enroll in the pet manners class run by dogpact through the city of Long Beach but was advised by owner/​operator Terry Long to try private classes. Admittedly I balked at the price, but was impressed with her credentials and liked our conversation, so thought I’d give it a try. We just finished our 7^th session and Lina is a much happier dog, now ready to enroll in the group class.
Terry starts working from the minute you arrive. She does a thorough assessment, asks the owner about their goals and designs a program specific to your dog and their needs. She is constantly observing the behavior of both dog and owner and offers creative, practical recommendations.
She’s a great listener, true dog lover and gives 100%.
In a field filled with self –proclaimed dog trainers, who charge less and know less, she’s the real thing. Long Beach is lucky to have her.

My youngest dog attended DogPACT’s 4-​week «Puppy Kindergarten» class. It was a great, positive experience for her. She learned basic manners for a puppy to socialize with other dogs & people. I learned what to expect from the different developmental stages of puppyhood, how to safely expose her to the world & new experiences & how to train with positive reinforcement. My oldest dog is training for agility with DogPACT and is making great progress! By implementing the training methods I’ve learned from DogPACT’s excellent trainers, I’ve created a strong bond with my dogs as well as an eagerness in them to learn!

I have used DogPact for over 12 years!!! I was originally referred to the most popular dog trainer in Newport Beach — but by the end of the first session I knew he wasn’t for us. I remembered meeting Terry Long at an animal shelter on our dog search and saw how amazing she was with animals. I called her.
She is the best thing that ever happened to us. I’ve had animals my entire life, but I learned more from her in 6 private sessions than I had learned my whole life. She is extraordinarily passionate and knowledgeable. She gets results you have to see to believe. One of our shelter dogs ended up needing a behavior modification program as well. She became the sweetest, most loving dog you can imagine.
Terry and her trainers are also on continuing education programs — so there is always something new they are learning. I’m on a new puppy right now with DogPact and learning so many things! The group classes are fantastic as are the private sessions.
The positive reinforcement methods DogPact teaches are valuable not only for your animals (heck — Terry has trained chickens to run agility courses), but for use in your life as well. DogPact’s methods get results faster than you can imagine.
I highly recommend DogPact. I’ve used several of the trainers and they are all excellent. You will be so glad you used them.

I have watched for the last year as my rescue Border Collie went from being insecure and overly emotional to being an outstanding agility dog. In 8 career competitive agility runs she already has 3 first place ribbons. Terry Long has been there every step of the way to guide that transformation and give our pup new life.
Recently I signed up my other dog for classes with Sierra Smith. Sierra is great, very caring, intelligent and informative. We (the dog and I) are loving the work together and he is gaining confidence every day. You CAN teach an old dog (6 years) new tricks, it turns out.
We have tried several different trainers, and the results from Dogpact are significantly better than anyone else. I can’t say enough nice things about their positive reinforcement style of training and love of animals.

I just finished a class with DogPact (thru the city of LB) and it was sooooo great. The class was fun and not too long (just 1 hour a week), it was just enough for the dogs before they lose their attention span. Our teacher, Sierra, is super awesome. She always let me bother her with all of my questions– which were many.
I got a dog from a shelter a few months ago and after I brought her home I soon realized my peril. She is energetic, chew-​aholic, disobediant, and ocasionally naughty.
Sierra the DogPact teacher helped me (and the entire class) to learn ways to train my dog. It has worked superbly. I see such an improvemnet in my dog and in myself. I really am enjoying my pet a lot more because I know how to enforce some training– which I didn’t before the class.
At our «graduation» class the dogs all got a reward along with us humans receiving some too. I will definetly take another class with DogPact. Thank you DogPact-​and my teacher Sierra!

We signed up for the six-​pack of training lessons for our puppy this year. I was quite pleased with the trainer, Sierra. Although it is expensive, we got the personal touch we wanted. Of course, it costs a lot more for one-​on-​one training. She crammed lots into our one-​hour sessions. Although, in hindsight, I would have signed up the puppy group training to help with socialization. The four stars is for Sierra!!!

My business partner lives next door to the lady who runs this dog training operation. When Daisy was very young and could not attend puppy classes, I had them come in for a private lesson in basic training. 180.00 for 2 hours. Though Daisy excelled with her private training, I felt I could do even better price wise. Ya see, all I need is another person to act as a prop.
I hired the local crack head.
It saved me lots of money. All he had to do was stand there while I teach Daisy to walk up to strangers and sit. She learned in ten minutes. By the end of the hour, she learned to sit unleashed while he walked back and forth and got closer and closer to her, without her playful lunge!
This morning I was playing with Daisy when we heard a loud knock on the door.
«Let’s go see who it is, Daisy»
I peeped the balcony to see my attorney downstairs.
I squealed like Mr. Bill. «Oh nooooooo» Damn… what now? His wife sent him on a reconnaissance mission to make sure I was doing alright. Nice to know that the people who count have my back.
I put Daisy in her crate, but after I got him settled, I brought her out, with confidence. She walked up to him, AND SAT!
In conclusion, hire a crack head and save yourself some money.
