History

Established in 2005.

Federico Design began when two business partners and homeowners of a 2,500-square-foot complete remodel project were looking for a fresh, up-​and-​coming designer to make interior and exterior finish, fixture, and equipment selections to their newly built home in Venice, California.

Nicole was working full-​time with a designer in Malibu while she was approached by the Venice homeowners to come on board with their project. She worked tirelessly to complete their design on nights and weekends because she knew she had to seize this incredible opportunity if her dream of owning her own design studio would ever come to fruition.

Federico Design chose the materials and finishes throughout the home including the paint and stain colors, lighting and plumbing fixtures, and kitchen appliances. Her dream came true and Federico Design was born. Since FD’s inception, Nicole has designed interiors ranging from traditional to modern, budget-​friendly to luxurious, and everything in between.

Business Owner

Nicole Federico Martinez, the founder of Federico Design, received an associate degree in interior design at FIDM, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, in Los Angeles as well as a bachelor degree in philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh, her native city. Upon relocating to Southern California, she discovered her passion for design and its impact on society, the environment, and human behavior.

Nicole has been in the interior design industry for 10 years and continues to grow her skills and her business exponentially based on the enthusiasm and passion she maintains for design and her company.
