Fierce Events & Custom Catering

We love fierce events! They always do an excellent job. They work with you for your event and always deliver! I highly recommend them.

I tried to hire Edward for an event. He came out to view the venue and provided me with a proposal. I thought we both had accepted and were ready to move forward, but suddenly he stopped responding to my emails and texts. Even though I thought I had hired him, he never had the courtesy to let me know that he would not be doing my event. He just disappeared into thin air! I am bitterly disappointed at his total lack of professionalism. There is just no excuse for not communicating and it shows that he cannot be counted on.

My husband and myself held an appreciation event at a winery for our associates and hired Edward to cater this event for 50 people. We worked with Edward on a menu and was very accommodating! I was so impressed with an email I received from him at 2:00 in the morning that next day. On event day, Edward showed up on time, set up (so elegant), made sure all our guests were well taken care of the entire evening, cleaned up and all with a smile on his face. Customer service was his number 1 goal and he certainly surpassed that with a class act! My husband and myself would highly recommend Edward for your next event… you won’t be disappointed!!!

We hired Fierce Events to provide heavy appetizers and light desserts for a fundraising event held over two evenings in one weekend. The food and service were excellent! Edward and his staff arrived on time, were very flexible with our limited workspace and delivered wonderful food as promised.
There was great attention to presentation with a fun variety of skewers, etc to allow easy «utensil free» serving as we requested. For dessert, I HIGHLY recommend the homemade custard tarts with delicious, crisp sugar cookie crust, fresh whipped cream and fresh berries. Also wonderful was the salted caramel chocolate cake bites.
Also notable: Edward and his staff were a pleasure to work with!

I Hired Edward to cater my 40’th birthday. I wanted a back yard sit down affair with dinner, a bar tender, and servers.
I had the back yard lit, and clean, and Edward did the rest. The tables were dressed in nice linens and center pieces.
When we started, salads were waiting for us with bread. After salads were done, the dinner was served and very nicely presented. All everyone could talk about was the food, and how good it tasted. Edward went one step further and handled the Cake cutting for desert. He set up a table inside the patio room where He and his staff cut and distributed the cake.
The servers were very friendly, kept everyone happy, looked neat and clean and were very good looking. After dinner and before dessert they cleared the yard of tables so everyone could mingle, all the while keeping up bar and drink service. When He and his team left, I think my kitchen was cleaner than when he got there. I would highly recommend Him and his Team anytime. I know I’ll use him again if the need ever arises.

I hired Edward to do a dessert and coffee bar for our films late night screening and he and his staff were magnificent! The movie is «Halloween Party» and he made sure all the details of the presentation followed the holiday theme. The chocolate chip witch fingers were a favorite along with the cream puff eye balls! He went a step further and put together an amazing display of fruits and even made sure his staff were pouring wine as well for guests.
I highly recommend Edward for any event, large or small, you may be considering. He’s a professional and it shows. He and the staff he brings are very warm, friendly and engaging within the job they are there to do. Kudos to he and his team for a great event made better with Fierce Events & Custom Catering!

We hired Edward for a sit-​down dinner party/​wedding in our back yard. The whole event was what I call «easy elegant.» I had the backyard professionally lit and decorated, we also had a live jazz trio playing. Basically we had a very elegant affair planned. I paid for the upgraded linens, silverware, chairs etc. The appetizers were great, as was the pre-​party attention he gave to me via phone calls and emails. However when it came to the delivery of small details I have a few cons that I’ll list here
1. We had NO napkins, all we had were some «emergency» paper napkins that he keeps in his car… that was a HUGE faux pas as far as I’m concerned.
2. There were no salad plates, he didn’t order them. The wait staff had to take the dinner plates after people finished their salad and wash them before they served the main course.
3. We had no knives, we had butter knives, which is what he ordered but it was a REAL butter knife (the kind you get at a fancy restaurant.) Anyway I called the rental company after and told them of the mistake, that they sent the wrong knives out, they told me «that’s what he ordered.» Isn’t a caterer suppose to know the difference between a dinner knife and a real butter knife?
4. We ordered water goblets so our guests could have water and they were never filled until I went inside and asked about the water service. Water is an easy thing and shouldn’t have been over looked.
5. He stated that he would send me a small refund given the mishaps that happened. He even sent a text about a week after the event asking for my mailing address. Needless to say if I was holding my breath waiting for a check in the mail I’d be blue in the face by now. Over 6 weeks and nothing.
I would only recommend Edward if the host was on top of EVERYTHING and didn’t trust the caterer to cover all the small details that should have been covered. His food and presentation was good but once again, he needed someone else there orchestrating and taking care of the small things besides just his wait staff since he was in the kitchen doing the cooking. Especially for $ 65 a plate and $ 5 a plate for the children’s dinner.

Through some networking connections we (my fiancée and I) were introduced to Edward and Bryan, the owners of Fierce and decided to use their «day of» services for our wedding (2−26−11 at the Hotel Laguna, Laguna Beach, CA).
Throughout the planning process, Edward listened to what our expectations were, what we wanted from a wedding and reception and took the bull by the horns. At times, we (my wife and I) ran into some problems with a few of our vendors and Edward was there to offer advice, as well as make some calls when the situation needed some «special» attention.
When it came to the day of our wedding, Nat and I just got to sit back and not worry about a thing because…
A) We were told that if we worried or freaked out about anything, we were going to be slapped (all jokes and fun here… Edward is really down to earth, enough so we totally joked around during the whole process).
B) Things were being taken care of… we could see it.
Edward and Bryan were on top of things (minus one little small mistake… music for the outside ceremony wasn’t set up until last minute) all night long.
Not only do they do weddings, they can pretty much plan and organize most any event you can think of. We will definitely keep them in our thoughts when it comes to planning any events or parties in the future!
