I brought my wedding dress in a few weeks ago for alterations and couldn’t be happier with the results! The staff was super accommodating to my hectic schedule and was able to finish all of my alterations within only a few weeks before my wedding. Being a bride on a budget I wasn’t sure if I would truly need all of the alterations that they recommended but I felt the staff was super honest about what would be necessary and what would be optional. In the end I did end up taking all of their recommendations and my dress turned out better than I could have ever expected. I went in thinking I only needed a little off here and there but once they finished they dress I was amazed at just how much the little added tweaks they recommended made it fit me so perfectly! Pricing wise, I felt it was fair. could I have had it done for less somewhere else? Probably… would I have had the same great and stress free experience? Maybe, but I was not trying to chance that on my wedding gown! being a firm believer in the idea of «you get what you pay for» I was more than happy to pay a little extra for a higher end alterations expert and have no worries! Thank you ladies! I can’t wait to wear my beautiful perfectly fitting gown at my wedding next week! I’ll add some before and after photos to this review as well!

I have had a few dresses altered here over the years. Most recently I had a bridesmaid dress with multiple layers hemmed. The dress came out perfect and was done faster than I expected. The girls that assisted me was a pleasure and I was over all very pleased with my experience.

Having lost some weight and having an upcoming wedding to attend, I decided I needed my favorite and expensive Zegna suit tailored. Fit and Style in the Marketplace Long Beach was unbelievable; professional service thought the moment I walked thru the door. They even had the master tailor come out introduce himself and confirm the pinning and fit. The suit was complete in the time promised, and fit perfect. I will be back soon.

I am quite happy to rewrite a review for this establishment. I decided to try it again after I got a personal apology for the last experience. I was not disappointed. I was treated, 150%better this time. The skirt I had reinforced was done beautifully. Thank you.

BOTCHED WEDDING DRESS and poor customer service.
Right before walking down the aisle on my wedding day I found that one of the bust cups had slipped to my mid-​section with no way of retrieving it before my entrance. I felt awkward, self conscious and distracted. After my wedding I took the dress back to Liz, the owner who had worked with me on the alterations. She offered me $ 100 credit and fixed the dress so I could sell it. That was 3 ½ years ago. In that time I have used only $ 50 of the credit. I thought it would be reasonable to ask for the balance in cash since I have little use for alterations and her shop is not conveniently located to my work or my home. Liz emailed me her response which I’ve pasted below:
«I received your message regarding a cash refund for the credit. Unfortunately, this was a credit not transferrable to cash. The cost for the bust cups at the time was $ 25.00, I offered the $ 100.00 credit which was in far excess of the amount of the alteration as a courtesy to you. To date you have use $ 50.00 of the credit, and I will honor the remaining credit for $ 50.»
My point in writing this review is to alert future customers that if there is a problem with a garment do not expect a cash refund no matter how serious the offense. What you can expect is credit (whether you need it or not) because that is what benefits this merchant. This is not a customer centric business model. Good businesses understand that compensating a customer means offering them something that is of value to them. Perhaps this is one reason why this is the least successful business of its kind in the area according to Unilocal.
Liz can keep her $ 50. Apparently she needs it. I won’t be going back.

I am soooooo happy with the work done by Christina and the rest of the crew at Fit & Style. I took my gown here about 2 months before my wedding. I went back several times and we got everything altered perfectly. The cost ended up being exactly what was originally quoted and they were very upfront as to what was needed and what the cost would be.
I think I am most happy with the belt they helped me with. My grandmother had handbeaded flowers onto lace that was over 100 years old and they cut out the flowers and arranged them into a gorgeous belt. This is now a very unique and special heirloom piece for our family.
They were very patient with me when I had a lot of questions and kept me up to date on the progress.
I posted several pictures of the belt and the back of my dress. All the work they did, especially with the bustle, was just gorgeous.

I have had such an amazing experience with them! I just picked up my wedding dress. It took them no time at all to make alterations on my wedding dress. They were all so kind and patient. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much on such a beautiful job!

They do great work, but this place is very expensive. In the future for a simple alteration like hemming jeans, shortening straps, etc. I’ll go else where, but they would be a great solution for an in-​depth alteration job (though I can’t even imagine what that would cost!).

Took my daughters dress here for prom. Christina helped us & was nothing but nice and very helpful. Great shop! Highly recommended.

After impressing me on my last three visits, Just Alterations crashed and burned this time! They altered two pair of trousers and gave me new creases that don’t line up with the original — which is permanent! I even called the owner after my fitting to ensure that this specifically would not happen. I was assured that the crease will stay the same. All I got from the owner today was: «You should have brought them back to be fixed. We guarantee our work. We can use this as a ‘teaching experience’.» What? Problem is, Madame Owner, the slacks are now garbage, just like the alterations.
Does this mean they’ll mess up one in every four tries?

The best alteration and costume design shop on the planet they will blow tour mind with awesome service and great skill in all areas of creating the perfect fit!!!

This place was pricey, i paid more for the alterations to my dress than i did for the original dress. But it was worth it to me. I came here at the recommendation of a friend, was treated well at my appointments, even though i showed up a bit late due to traffic. At the initial appointment, she pinned the dress, gave an estimate, then basted the alterations for a second appointment, in case there were any changes. At my third appointment, i picked up a perfectly fitting gown. The alterations i required were shortening the dress from the waist (it had trim on the bottom) and taking in the bodice about 4 inches. The bodice had beading, which they matched up well or re-​did well, so it flowed like it did before sizing down. She also offered a beautiful suggestion for a bustle, I loved it! The bustle was fairly unique and easy for my helpers to figure out at my reception. The dress alterations were a stress free part of my wedding planning.

Do not go here. I have had so many items altered wrong and convenience is the only reason I came back. My most recent trip was my last one. I had a dress altered due to it being too large. They took in too much and the buttons were popping open at my chest. Their excuse, a lot of women have issues in their chest area (I have a small chest). I was then informed the dress didn’t fit due to my large shoulders. Even if I did have large shoulders that is the entire point of custom alterations, for clothing to fit to your specific body.
They took out some of the material that they had taken in but at this point my $ 150 dress was ruined. In addition, I just attended a wedding where the bridesmaids dresses were altered incorrectly. Padding was added to the bust area and all girls had one side that was pointy and the other side lumpy. I asked where the dresses were altered and I wasn’t surprised when I was told Just Alterations.
In addition to terrible alterations they are not friendly and they over charge. I am trying another alteration shop.

I’ve been meaning to review Just Alterations since my wedding, and I’m finally getting around to it. I have been here for both a bridesmaid alteration and then later my own wedding dress. They did a SPECTACULAR job on my dresses. I had them do some pretty tricky stuff to my wedding dress to make it exactly the way that I wanted and they did a great job. Not only that, they took it in two days before my wedding from the pre-​wedding jitters/​stress weight loss, they even yelled at me and told me to eat! Which I was, I just had some other BS going on (as many a bride finds out during the planning process). I can’t say enough about how great they were, I will use them for my basic hems to any intricate fix. Seriously, the price is right and the work is quality.

Just Alterations is a five star business. Anyone who gives less than five stars is the exception, not the rule. The owner went out of her way to accommodate my terrible work schedule so that my wedding dress will be perfect on my wedding day. And it is no less than perfect. To anyone who complains about price: You get what you pay for. If you want to look cheap on your wedding day, by all means go for it. If you want your dress to fit your body like it was made just for you, Just Alterations is your answer. And they don’t just specialize in gowns, they will take anything off the rack and tailor it to your specifications, for less than anything made couture. This is my latest and greatest discovery!

I walked in one day recently to get a quote for alterations to a bridesmaid dress that was designed to be easy to make basic alterations, but also to see if they could potentially be my local tailor shop for other things. They gave me a quote that was ridiculous and more than twice the amount charged by the wonderful lady I ended up going to in Costa Mesa (Be’s Alterations is worth the drive!!), so I will be sure to skip them for any other future alterations as well.

I went to Just Alterations for my wedding dress alterations and it was the worst part of my entire wedding/​planning experience. When I came in for my first fitting, within 5 minutes of me putting on my dress they ripped the seams down each side while I was still wearing the dress. Every fitting ended in tears and honestly the dress looked better before they ever touched it. I went back 4 times and the dress never laid right and did not look as good as when I purchased it. On top of my dissatisfaction with the quality, it still cost over $ 300, which is a lot to pay when you are disappointed. On top of that they couldn’t steam/​press my dress so I had to pay extra to have all the wrinkles taken out.
I will say that this happened a while ago (about 3 years), but none the less, left a lasting impression.

Very, very expensive.
They do not offer anything special, nor do they steam your clothes. So, at pick-​up, you get wrinkled garments and a very expensive tailoring bill. I know what I’m talking about, as I am 5“2 and don’t fit in a 0, so I have almost everything tailored.
Otherwise, the facility is nice and the people are friendly.
