We stayed here on February 7th, 2014 on the stay and cruise program where we spent the night and left our car until we got back a week later. This is the best value going and I did a lot of research finding it. The room was super clean and large and had a patio with a direct view of the gazebo in the courtyard. We ate at the restaurant and it was good and very inexpensive. We had a marina view while we ate. The staff at the front desk were very helpful when we ran into a sort of emergency situation when we returned. This isn’t the Ritz but we didn’t want to pay for the Ritz. Some say it needs updating but we didn’t think so. We loved it just the way it is. Would highly recommend!

I don’t know how these people ranked this place so high! The only thing is has going for it is the staff. Pink old stuccoed walls with tacky yellowed furniture. We had popcorn ceilings on the 4th floor. Son at 6’1″ almost reached the top of the ceiling. Tacky and run down. The staff tried to keep it clean but there are years of paint that need to be sanded and replaced! I posted a review on Auto club. $ 109 dollars! Go somewhere else!

Came here for an event and was not impressed with the upkeep of this hotel. Everything seemed old and run down. You’d think they would clean the place up and keep their customers coming back? Hmm. just a thought.

This is a typical best western. The rooms were very clean. However, we had EXCEPTIONAL service. From our phone call to book the room, checking in, and checking out the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Not to mention we lucked out by getting a hot tub in our room which we enjoyed. Make sure you get the included breakfast buffet as the food was great too. For $ 95 a night this place can’t be beat.

Actually went to the PCH club to see some live bands that were playing. The bands were good, but the bar SUCKS. Expensive drinks that tasted like straight alcohol. Definitely will not be back. Not even for the bands.

Two words 1. Old 2. Cheap You never need to spend more than $ 99.00 for this place even with breakfast. Check out priceline for much better rates. Sometimes you just want a place to stay with no frills and this place is it. Don’t come here expecting the Marriott or one of those mid range chains. Quick Tip: Gaslamp Bar right next door has KILLER live music on Fridays!

Nice hotel, but the bar(Golden Sails PCH Club) SUCKS big time!!! It gets so hot and stuffy, I can’t believe they stay in business. If I wanted a sauna, I’d go to a health club. Hey General Manager, turn on your air conditioner!!!

Stayed here for a week and everything was great! It was $ 123.00 a night, but it included a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner(anything off the menu), and 2 drinks from the bar everyday. Totally worth it. They also offer free golf, but I didn’t use it. Enjoyed the VIP treatment. I definitely recommend this place.

We just spent a few days here and everything was great! A little bit more«motel-like» than I was expecting, and for that reason alone we may be staying somewhere else on subsequent trips, but overall if you’re in town for a night or two this place gets my recommendation. Really decently priced, and although a little outdated, its got pretty much everything you need for a night’s stay. Best part of the stay? The breakfast offered every morning! The wide spread was a surprise, and I filled up on bacon, sausage, eggs, french toast, fruit, and hashbrowns every morning(vacation means I get to eat whatever I want, right?).

Just tried their all-you-can eat buffet breakfast yesterday morning at the Flying Sails Restaurant onsite. The service was very good, the staff courteous and alert to guests needs, the food was good, fresh and plentiful! Standard buffet fare — scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, french toast, fruit, cereal, toast, bagels and make-your-own waffles, coffee, juices. Cost $ 7 per person, and a nice dining room with comfortable seating, looking out over a small marina. Definitely a bargin worth catching! Bön appetite!!!

So I checked out the Monday Night Swing and will probably go back especially when they have live music which is the plan for next monday. Everyone was nice and listened to my babbling about Jive and Swing Dancing back in the 90’s and the guys really did know how to lead. So much fun and great exercise to boot! The Dance floor was a little small and the bar really needs to turn down the house lights so it seems more like a club or bar and less like dancing in the high school cafateria. But like I said super fun and super friendly people though! Completely worth it if you are hankering to go swing dancing and want to stay near the homestead!

They have free swing dancing here on Monday nights in Club PCH which is located in the hotel. This weekly event just started several weeks ago. The dance floor is not that big, but it wasn’t very crowded when I went so there was plenty of room. The floor is not your usual ballroom dance floor, so you definitely don’t want shoes with a sole that is even remotely sticky. The DJ’d music was good and the people seemed pretty nice. I think this could end up being really great if more people find out about it and attend.
