Hyatt Centric The Pike Long Beach

We came here for my birthday in December. Interior was so modern and nice. Room was so clean and comfortable. I liked the layout of our room.
He did great job choosing this hotel for celebrating my special day

Stayed for a conference for two nights. One night in a king and other in a two queen.
Rooms were clean, no smell, no smoking, and had modern upgrades.
I had to call back regarding a bill, but it was taken care of instantly.
Only very minor annoyance is parking across the street with no in-​and-​out for $ 16 and having to swipe for each floor in the elevator…
Quality customer service.

Reminds me of the Soho Grand, clean lines, modern, lots of style — with a vaguely nautical/​aviation feel to it. Makes sense given Long Beach’s current and historical association with air and sea. A short cab ride from LAX, but don’t book a car through the hotel concierge — unreliable and expensive — that was our only misstep here.
Brand spanking new too — even the elevated garage view from our room was aesthetically pleasing. The cruise ship style heated roof top pool and views are the bomb!
We came to Long beach a couple of days early for a cruise connection, and this was the perfect spot for a layover. Smack dad in the center of town, a short walk to most any Long Beach attraction, hip restaurants, quaint upscale neighborhoods, the Queen Mary, the aquarium, shopping and even surprisingly good buffet breakfasts, and room service dining.
Better than expected and definitely the place to stay if you are making a cruise connection — only a $ 10 cab ride to the pier.

Here for race day, so the location was star-​worthy out of the gate. The room is nice with a comfy bed. The pool of awesome, and the design is welcoming. They just got a new chef, so the food also gets a star. The service is fantastic. Really paid attention to some important details, and very hospitable. Oh, and Simon Pagenaud wind the Indy Grand Prix, and HPE sponsored him. So maybe the hotel is good luck!?!

Top quality service and very nice rooms. Hotel is very modern feeling and comfortable. Located off the Long Beach streets that are used for a race track. We left our car parked right out front all night with no problems at all. Very nice area.
The person at the front desk (I believe his name was Andre) was super professional, well spoken and just a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. He personally went to make sure our room was prepared and was able to get us a king bed by requesting that room service turn down the room specially for us. I really appreciated that. He’s certainly an asset to the Hyatt; we really enjoyed our stay and definitely will be returning in the future.
If you are traveling or staying in Long Beach, I would definitely recommend this as the place to lodge. They also have a very nice roof top pool — we didn’t have time to enjoy it, but wow, it was nice when we took a quick peek at it.

Located in the middle of an outdoor shopping mall. the rooms are pretty cool. half wall separates a sitting area and sleeping area. the parking lot is shared with all the shoppers, there is no direct access from your car to the hotel, so it is better to drop off your luggage at the front desk and go park, than carry it all down. the bartender was pretty cool, she made some yummy drinks, small bar area. was there for an over nighter, easy stay.

Amazing stay place this weekend staff is very friendly, we got a complimentary champagne strawberries unexpectedly from the staff for our 2 years anniversary it was amazing never had we had a experience like this at any hotel we be coming back here if we stay here in long Beach, rooms are nice bathroom comfortable bed nothing but good things to say about this place ! We are a young couple in are late 20s, great location, only thing is parking 16 a night it be nice if they could do something about that … overall 5 stars stay see you guys soon !

This place is very nice and certainly worthy of 5 stars. The staff were all very friendly, and very helpful. The rooms are amazing. I got a free upgrade which really set the bar high. A deluxe king, with a small sofa and bench seating. The HD TV service is decked out with most of the premium channels, and the TV even pivots so that you can watch from the sofa, the desk, or the bed… or the shower if that’s your thing. There’s the usual assortment of toiletries available, plus a bevy of complimentary items you can have sent to your room. A waterfall shower and vanity mirror were nice touches too.
And now why is this review missing that one star? The mini bar and snacks are placed in sensor’d trays that bill you automatically and immediately… even if you are just reading the labels. I read the fine print and left everything alone but I guess people I was traveling with didn’t. It was simple enough to sort out upon checkout I guess. The big gripe is the parking. They share a parking garage with The Pikes Outlets which makes coming and going a bother. They validate for two hours or less but spend a few hours parked and then leave… $ 9. Come back for the night… $ 16 for overnight parking. There should be a flat rate for hotel guests, added to the room charge.
While your in the hotel everything is great, but as you leave the parking situation leaves a lasting impression and slightly dampers the experience.

Ron was so helpful at the front desk, We were catching a ship out and he gave us the late checkout. The hotel is gorgeous and has a Nuevo modern feel to it. My 15 year old even commented on how pretty she thought it was. It sits in the heart of everything, walking distance to the Ferris wheel, shopping, movies, aquarium, museums, restaurants, on the water, you name it this hotel has it all. 5 mins from the pier a quick trip via Über and you’re there! The airport is close
Via shuttle for $ 29 or Über. Was a great place to start our vacation. They also have room service and a small restaurant downstairs if your not up to venturing out. We loved it and would most definitely stay again. Previously we stayed at the Hyatt Regency and would recommend this over that hands down with its smaller boutique feel.

This hotel is not open ²⁴⁄₇. My wife and I were looking for a place to stay and we went here since it announce it was open 24 hours. The doormen/​security did not wanted to open the door to begin with and saw us standing in front, freezing. Ultimately, since he saw I was the calling the lobby he decided to walk to the door. Not answer the phone and told us that it was closed. To try some where else

Probably the best hotel room I’ve ever stayed in! The wood, color scheme, and lighting are perfect. Large bathroom with a gigantic shower. What an efficient use of space too! You have a work area, living room, and large bedroom area. The built-​in TV swivels so you can watch from anywhere in the room — BRILLIANT!
The staff here is amazing! Very friendly and helpful. Halls are clean and tastefully decorated. The bar and restaurant are cozy. And as for the location, you’ve got all kinds of shopping, dining, and entertainment right outside your door!
I’ll definitely be back!

I really liked this Hyatt hotel! I would definitely stay here again. The good outweighs the bad, so I’ll quickly state why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5.
If you have a car, the hotel does not have valet. You’ll need to park in a parking garage right next to the hotel, and it is $ 16 every time you come & go, so that would suck if you need to use your car multiple times. If you can manage getting around without a car, then you’re fine! I also noticed that the elevators in the hotel were VERY slow. I usually had to wait a couple minutes before an elevator arrived.
But other than that, this hotel was great! Very clean and modern. It had the style of a W Hotel, or The Renaissance. Modern, cute, swanky. The staff was very friendly whether it was up at the front desk, the hotel bar/​lounge, or the restaurant. I was always greeted with a smile and everyone was very accommodating. I spent a good amount of time in their hotel bar/​lounge when I wanted to finish up some work at the end of the day and it was a great place to unwind and have a few drinks. Takota (the bartender) was very kind and suggested some great wines for me to try. They have a good amount of lounge seats, bar stools, and tables, so you’ll be very comfortable.
I noticed the hallways in the hotel and loved them. The halls were dark, but with mirror lighting and lamp shades sticking out of the walls. Almost had a nightclub feel with an elegant touch. My room was a standard room but it felt like a mini suite. Desk area in the corner, small living room area with a tv that swiveled so that I could watch it from the couch or my bed. Bed was huge. Bathroom was very modern, and the shower was huge with a rainfall shower head. I would absolutely stay here again. It was a very beautiful & modern hotel, with a very friendly staff. I just won’t bring my car next time to avoid the parking haha!
Oh and side note, they have a movie theater, retail shops, and plenty of restaurants within walking distance! Always a plus.

We accidentally left a large amount of money in our hotel room. Room keeper found the money. They said they would ship it back to us. A month goes by, no money ever returned. Called back only for them to say they have no idea what I am talking about.
Point is. dishonest group of people. :(Pretty sad they would go out of there way to take down my address, pretend like they were going to ship my money back and never do it.

Took a shuttle from LAX as we were heading to the cruise port the following day. This hotel is very new and convenient for cruise departures. We had a decent sized room and the standing shower is good. It’s a few steps away from food and a small outdoor mall with movie theater so you don’t even have to rent a car as we took Über the following day to drop us off at the cruise port. Some drivers do have difficulty finding this hotel vs. hyatt regency which is also around the area. As diamond members we had a breakfast allowance so we ate in the restaurant in the morning and it was a great value.

There is no attached parking. You have to park across the street. 16 $ over night fee, and 16 $ a day «max» but no in and out privileges. So you are paying every time you come and go. Be prepared to spend well over 16 $ if you plan on doing anything during your stay.
The rooms are nice and modern and the bed is awesome, but more than ²⁄₃ of the rooms with Windows all face each other so there is no view besides the view of the other side of the hotel haha.
My best advice is to try and find a good deal at Hyatt regency down the street like I normally do, and pay 20 $ a day parking WITH in and out privileges. Much cheaper in the end.

This hotel was not worth any of the money, I do not recommend anyone stay here.
There is no valet, you have to pay daily for parking which then is added on to your room. No one helped me with any of my luggage, I had to keep it in the lobby while I went and parked/​paid for my own car. It was such a hassle.
I was their for a wedding and apart of the bridal party, we all went to the pool roof expecting to be able to order at the pool, the bar was closed and there was no service upstairs. The lobby bar pretty much was closed the whole time we were there.
Room service is non existent other than breakfast, which ends at 11. I called to order lunch and they had nothing, for the price these rooms are it was completely ridiculous.
The elevators are so slow, you will probably be waiting for up to 10 minutes to get into one, which makes doing anything a hassle.
Added charges were added on to my card for no reason and the price you checkout with online is NOT anywhere close to what you will be paying.
There was construction all around the hotel and roadblocks that made finding it difficult for many of the guests.
I was very disappointed with my stay and I think many others were too. It was supposed to be a nice, relaxing, accommodating weekend and this hotel did not supply that.

I stayed here in June for my wedding weekend. We used the hotel to both get ready for the big day on Friday and afterwards for my husband and I to enjoy the weekend. I could not have been more impressed and grateful for their wonderful customer service! A few highlights:
–sent up champagne and strawberries to our suite
–brought extra towels, coffee, and pitchers of water while my bridesmaids and I got ready
–re-​opened the breakfast restaurant after they had closed to make a few lattes and then gave them to us free of charge
–found a bartender to serve us celebratory shots before leaving for the wedding, even though it was 230 in the afternoon and the bar wasn’t open yet :)
All of this and more was done without hesitation and with a smile! I really felt as if they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great weekend and a seamless day. On top of all of that, the rooms were beautiful! I would absolutely recommend staying at this location for the service, high-​quality rooms, and a great location!

I was a fan of this self-​proclaimed boutique hotel’s interior and vibe. Clean and contemporary with modern décor, it’s easy to want to turn your visit to Long Beach into a staycation and spend a majority of the time in your hotel, lounging in your room and spending time in/​around the rooftop pool with its private cabanas.
The bedrooms are spacious, with a sitting area that’s separated by a wooden divider and a TV that can be swiveled to face either the bed or the sofa. The bathroom is well designed with mosaic-​looking tiles, an oversized shower, and a wide rain shower head.
Tempted as you might be to remain on the property, you’ll be relieved to find that you’re only a short 0.2mi walk from the waterfront and the Aquarium of the Pacific.
Wi-​fi is complimentary throughout the hotel but a bit spotty at times. Parking is in a structure next door for $ 7. Room service is available.

Not too shabby, did just want to say that there’s no valet parking for this location, you’ll have to park in the structure next door, that being said they do give you a voucher, so that it’s only $ 7 instead of whatever the normal rates are for the parking structure.
The other bad part was that the wifi is free, but um… there’s basically no wifi, it doesn’t connect that well and once it does, it just disconnects in 2 minutes. Hopefully they get that fixed.

My wife and I love this place. We stay here every other month or so when we can sneak out for a night and leave kids with grandma. The rooms are nice, of course the rooms with ocean views are nice. Rooms that are even numbered (I believe) face the ocean. Unless you are in 414, 514, 614, etc, those are corner rooms with ocean view and parking lot.
*Funny story, when we checked in at the appropriate check in time the computer system was down so they did things old school which I like because I’m an old school kind of guy. We were originally given room 614 and the keys did not work. Went downstairs and they gave me new keys, back to the room and opened the door. On the coffee table there was a big cup from chick-​fil-​a and the place had a very strong presence of marijuana. Then we walked further into room and my wife goes into panic mode, «they are still here, the suitcase is there, go go go!». I was LMAO because this is the Hyatt not motel 6. I like a little excitement, reminds me of my youth. Back to the lobby and they gave us an apology and new room.
Back to the review. The rooms are very nice. TV is awesome because it swivels around. The beds are unbelievably comfortable, I always sleep like a baby here. The bathroom is exquisite with the marble in the shower along with the shower head. Coffee in room is also a plus.
The pool on the roof is a nice place to hangout during the summer. They rent it out for special events as well. The bar next to the lobby is cool to relax and have a few drinks as well.
There are so many things to do within walking distance. Wear some comfortable shoes and you are good.
The prices of rooms very. We usually stay in a king deluxe and get rates anywhere from $ 156−265/night with the AAA rate. The taxes will run you about 20% so be prepared for that, parking is $ 10 with in and out privileges.
I would definitely have given a 5 star but I was a little annoyed with having to run around and get new keys and being given a room with a pot smoker still occupying it.
