Jarvis Law Offices is a litigation firm practicing the areas of special education, employment law, and general litigation.

History

Established in 2007.

Prior to opening Jarvis Law Offices in 2007, Vanessa worked as a litigation associate and senior associate at a few well known California law firms. Vanessa tried cases before juries in a variety of different areas including product liability, personal injury, employment law, and professional liability. Ms. Jarvis successfully represented parties in state and federal appeals, before administrative courts, and in State Court. Vanessa settled and arbitrated multi-​million dollar cases.

Vanessa also worked for several years as the Chief Litigator for a local law firm specializing in special education law. Vanessa was in charge of handing all the hearings and trials before the Office of Administrative Hearings, in Federal Court, and before the Court of Appeals for the 9^th District.

Vanessa continues to assist local special education law firms as an «Of Counsel», assisting them in litigation and appellate matters on an as needed basis.

As a litigation attorney, clients come to me when they are facing difficult issues. It could be that their special needs child is not getting adequate services, or even being abused at school, or it could be an employment issue such as an employer harassing someone for taking family leave.

Whatever the issue, I see my job as doing my utmost to help my client resolve their legal issues as quickly as possible, while minimizing stress and legal fees.

Initial consultations are always free.

I will give you an honest opinion of whether you have a case. I will offer you a fair and reasonable fee, and explain my fee agreement orally and in writing. We will work together on determining the strategy for your case. I will personally do the legal work on your case. When possible, I will work to get the defendant to reimburse your attorneys’ fees. I will be available to answer your questions, and will keep you up to date on your case.
