The only L&L I will go to. I live about a mile away from another location but I choose to and will continue to drive across town just for this location. For one, the quality here seems to always remain consistent. Food never tastes like it just sat there and it’s always full of flavor. I taste the love and work that goes into the dishes here. Not to mention, this location does the Mac salad best. With there being about 4 locations that I can choose to go to, you’d be surprised how many of them can’t get this right. If you’re ever craving Hawaiian bbq, this location hits the spots.

I ordered the seafood combo. It was terrible, I couldn’t eat it and was so upset to have wasted my money. The shrimp are definitely frozen and overbreaded, extremely hard, and NOT pleasant to eat. The fried fish was soggy! My plate was loaded with TONS of rice and cabbage and the smallest scoop of macaroni salad ever(which also lacked flavor). My stomach felt naseous afterwards, I ended up throwing it away. $ 10 in the garbage. Ugh… never coming again. I would have gotten better food at Carl’s Jr!

I ordered the sea food combo and thr shrimp was hard and dry, took it to the cashier and she stated«its our batter» really? Then I suggest you change it

By far the best Hawaiian bbq I’ve been to a couple l&l chains and they all taste different! This one tops them all the macaroni salad tastes very authentic and the meat is delicious I love the Hawaiian bbq plate with extra macaroni!

I called to place an order and the girl in a pink shirt on 4⁄30 who works here had me on hold for over 10 mins… to the point where I drove there while still on hold… and I can hear everything going on. She sucks as an employee and a human because she didn’t offer an apologies or discount. I love L&Ls but they got unhappy, horrible and dead like employees. No music either so it’s awkward here.

Man I love this place! Macaroni salad is carb heaven. Their bbq beef is soft and has a kind of bulgogi flavor to it. Their katsu chicken basically replaced fried chicken for life. All their different styles of musubi are delicious. Ordered a cheese burger here once, while calling myself an idiot and then surprisingly really enjoying it! Basically, you can’t go wrong with whatever you order here. The only thing I’m a bit confused by is they’re pretty stingy with their teriyaki sauce when you get take-out — What’s all that about? Overall, big fan.

The lau lau and Kalua pork with brown rice is so delicious! My son always get the spam musubi and just gobbles it all without sharing. Great price and great food!

Came to get dinner at 9:40 and they were closed even though it said they close at 10:00. We also tried to call to place a Togo order from our car, but the guy at the registered ignored it and kept counting the money.

Got tired of brown bagging it today and came here. This place is usually super busy at lunch and today was no exception, Another reviewer described this as a hole in the wall and I will echo that sentiment. I was able to get up to the counter and order the mini garlic grilled mahi, This comes with steamed rice and the mac salad, I waited about 10 minutes for my food which was not bad. It is a bit uncomfortable waiting for your food since this place is so small, there is no place to stand that is not in the way of people trying to order. The garlic mahi was delicious. I was a bit disappointed with the portion but I have to admit for the price it was not bad. Then there is the mac salad. If this stuff was not loaded with calories and cholesterol, I would not mind eating this every day. Overall, it was a pretty good meal. I am really not to wild about the menu at this place. It has some good items but they do not offer as many choices as other L & L’s I have eaten at. I have used this L & L location to cater a luncheon that I organized. For 30 people, I ordered barbecue chicken, barbecue beef, stir fried vegetables and mac salad. They had my order ready on time. Everything was packed well and still hot when I was ready to serve it. Too bad they do not deliver.

Just went to this location for the first time. I don’t really go to L&L at all, this might just be my 4th time. Melina, the girl on register, was extremely helpful with questions I had about the food, and recommending me with how I can order the meat I want with different sides because I was health conscious. I was having such a hard time deciding and taking too long to make up my mind and yet she was so patient and really nice. Thanks to the great service I had, I’ll be coming here for often. Thanks for all your help and friendly face, Melina. You’re a prime example of what customer service is all about :) AND she was right, I did not make a mistake of going with the garlic chicken ! I’ll def be back for that too! You’re awesome!

Great hole in wall place; typical of the LB vibe. Menu up front gives clear choices and portion sizes. Got the mini chicken with brown rice and salad And Spam musobi … It was different to what I recall back in my younger days so I won’t hold it against the nice folks here. They take card, just make sure it meets $ 10 minimum Cheers

Came here because the reviews brought me in. Got the bbq mix and substituted the bbq chicken for chicken katsu and honestly, the plate was DELICIOUS. Got one spam masubi as well and it was pretty good. Will be coming back again.

The worst experience. I ordered their fried shrimp. It was cooked do hard i could not eat. I came back by today, to see if they would let me try something else. The girls told me in order for them to do anything i should have brought the food back… unfortunately, I threw the $ 9 worth of disgusting food away. Any chance I to talk about their horrible customer service, I will. They truly are awful.

One of my favorite L&L locations in terms of consistent quality. I always order a Kalua Pork & Chicken Katsu combo w/brown rice. I love that whole soft + crunchy texture. The Kalua pork is the right amount of savory & salty, and has just the right amount of moisture and juices. The Katsu has been my absolute L&L favorite ever since I can remember — the Katsu here is thick and has got that super crunchy exterior while the meat itself is sooo juicy!(I tried ordering katsu at the 7th street location and the chicken was thin, dry, and overcooked — so i go out of my way to get my hawaiian fix at this location). Love that brown rice is offered here, too!

If you get the regular size plates, than you are golden and will be filled up. If you get the mini size plates, you will be disappointed if you are someone like me… those plates have shrunk a little. I know because I eat this stuff enough times to know what those portion sizes are suppose to look like. The mini plates have become more«minnier». Overall, I still like their food and would not recommend ordering the mini plates if you are a hearty eater like myself. Just go regular size and be happy that you did.

Have been coming here for years. I live just 5 minutes away! It’s so convenient. I usually come here for their chicken katsu, the bbq mix, the musubi, and the chicken bbq plate. I decided to try something a little different. I ordered the chicken bowl instead. Just wanted to see how it is. It was pretty good. It got me full! Also, they charge for the sauce. It’s $ 0.25 cents for a small katsu sauce and $ 0.50 for the bigger one. Hopefully, I’ll get to try something new next time.

Clean & friendly L&L ! I came here on a Saturday night and there was a mini line going on which is a good sign!(great food !) I was greater by a female cashier with a smile and she kindly asked what I wanted to order. My husband ordered the Atkins plate which was BBQ beef, chicken, short ribs & two eggs & it was more than enough for him. I got the half Katsu & half BBQ short ribs plate with two Mac and one rice which came out to a total of $ 20. The food was fresh & hot of course ! Katsu sauce is a must with every meal ! They serve brown rice too! Most L&L don’t have that option but I’m glad this place does ! & Of course I will be coming back!

I was coming home from work, and nobody wanted to cook. Why not go to L&L? My wife called in the order(to save time) and I was on my way to pick it up. Upon walking in, I saw the sign for their new ramen burger. I asked how long it would take. The lady said 15 minutes. Damn. My order was almost ready and I didn’t want to wait. Next time, I guess. My wife got the small katsu plate, and I got the large chicken cutlet. They are essentially the same thing; one comes with katsu sauce and the other comes with gravy. They are both breaded chicken. I always ask for extra katsu sauce because I like to use both gravy and katsu. I recommend getting the gravy on the side. This way the chicken won’t become soggy and lose its crispiness. You can dip each bite just prior to consumption to preserve its maximum crunch and freshness. I always get two scoops of the mac salad, and one scoop of rice. The chicken was nicely battered, fresh, and tasty. All in all a solid meal. It’s always too big, and even I can’t finish it. I usually finish about eighty percent of the chicken and rice. I finish all the mac salad because it is so good. This L&L is located in the same shopping center as CVS and Albertsons. We will be back whenever the mood strikes. Growing up, I used to eat at the Cerritos location all the time. I have many fond memories there. Chicken katsu and chicken cutlet were my go-to items. There’s lots of chains that are similar to L&L now — but L&L will always hold a special place in my heart.

This is one place that I often frequent whenever I am in Long Beach. The spam musubi is by far their best plate, along with their cheapest plate as well! The spam musubi consists of a piece of spam which has rice rolled around it. You definitely cannot ever go wrong with their scoop of macaroni salad, which goes well with anything that you purchase here. The staff here are always very friendly and attentive. Yes, the wait can be a while, which I personally do not mind. Their bbq chicken bowl is by far their most popular dish. Often, the portions of the food are too much to eat in one sitting, which is why there is no problem taking it to go if that is the case. There is plenty of parking here, considering it is located in a big plaza nearby the blue line station. There is a Starbucks and an Albertsons here too. On the outer area of this establishment it will often look dirty due to the almost always overfilling trash cans that are nearby. Overall, my visits here have been nothing shirt of cool. Will always be coming back, only because I am a big fan of their spam musubi!
