The proprietor of the motel is not to be trusted. I booked this hotel 2 weeks in advance for Long Beach Comic Con weekend via . I had confirmed the reservation at the motel after the confirmation email was sent, and again the day before our travel plans– the reservation was set, no problem. The night we were checking in I called to let the motel know we wouldn’t be there at 7pm, and he started yelling at me(Hello there, red flag!). He insisted we be there before 10:30, as that was the last he could hold the rate($ 65). I told him we would definitely be there before 10:30, eventually pulling into the motel at 9:50pm. Even with a physical printout of the reservation confirmation, the proprietor insisted he did not have our reservation– not that he didn’t have the rate guarantee… that it wasn’t there entirely! When I asked him if I was then lied to 3 times over the phone, he waved multiple reservations in my face, gestured to the fax machine, and yelled«You try working with this! You try making this work!» So I confirmed, «So even though I’ve called you 3 different times to make sure our room was set, and you confirmed it was, there is no room? There is no vacancy?!» He smiled and said«Yes ma’am» and laughed as I walked out of he lobby. The best I can physically describe this man is like Jafar from Aladdin– but Jafar in disguise, hunched with completely rotten teeth. This man gives off creepy vibes MAJORLY. He completely screwed over my husband and I, leaving us no where to sleep in an unfamiliar city. I reported the La Mirage Inn to , and they helped us find another place to stay for the night. But to anyone considering this motel… DON’T. Blacklist them.

My experience at this inn was horrible for the following reasons: 1. They hand you a remote controller for the tv with batteries that are dead… No remote control for us. 2. The TV only played Nickelodeon. That’s all 3. After playing the TV for 30 mins, we had no volume 4. The worst is yet to come, the ac unit broke. We slept in 100 degree weather with 80% humidity. Fuck my life. This was discovered after we returned from a long day in the sun. 5. The guy working was so rude. 6. They DONTHAVEANICEMACHINE 7. We had to leave our refrigerator door open to try to cool down our room 8. Mold in the bathroom 9. Terrible place mostly due to the service. We were basically told to deal with all of these problems ourselves! Oh yeah… The toilet never stopped running. They said the Plummer and electrician would arrive after you’ve checked out $ 85 wasted. Got a $ 15 refund the next morning. Should have been a comped room
