I am not sure why all other people rate 5 stars. First thing when Jeff answered my call, he said, he only works during a week. I hate to say, but I work outside of home and that is not very accommodating. Needless to say, I made an appointment early in the morning. He came over and he looked the issues and jumped by saying I need to redo everything. I already explained on the phone that my handyman did wiring but not getting the power. He went on and on by saying how terrible the job was done by my worker. Excuse me? You don’t need to explain to me. I know. That is why you are here, right? To resolve the issue, not telling me how bad my worker did. On the top of that, he didn’t even looked outlets to inspect. I explained that I have to ask a maintenance guy to turn the power off because I am in the multi level condo. He said, «I won’t touch anything while power is on.» Really? You mean, you are going to die if you do? This is a household amperage, you may be shocked, but it’s not going to kill you. Besides, you are a «Pro.» Don’t you have a non-​conductive gloves? I tried other electricians and they said, they need to work while power is on to see if it’s functioning. OK, this is a comment by real «Pro.»
Two weeks later, finally my electrical issue was corrected. My previous worker didn’t do wrong just that the whole issue was, certain wirings were not made to work for switch/​combo which should have been obvious if someone was «Pro-​Electrician» and pull the outlet little to see the backside wiring.

Jeff was terrific – a fast response to my call, asked plenty of questions, showed up on time, and then made a thorough inspection before determining the exact problem with my ceiling fan. Customer service has become a lost art, but Jeff keeps his finger on the pulse of his clientele and gives them service above and beyond what’s come to be expected. If you don’t want to have to worry about finding an electrician you can count on, just call Jeff. I guarantee – you won’t be sorry!

I called Lantern to come out and fix a ceiling future that was no longer working. I wasn’t sure if it was the old dimmer switch or the fixture. Jeff found the problem quickly and replaced the ceiling fixture and switch — as well as installing a timer switch on my front porch light. He did a nice job and did it for the price quoted. I would definitely call him against for future electrical work.

Jeff did a great job of installing a new HDMI cable for me. It wasn’t an easy job in my 1922 lath and plaster house (and my components are infra-​red controlled in a closet), but Jeff found ways to make it work. The price was quite reasonable, too.

Couldn’t have been better. Jeff came right away, made all the repairs and patiently and clearly explained everything he did.

In a word, A-​M-​A-​Z-​I-​N-​G! I wanted a chandelier installed in my dining room that required a new junction box location centered with a new table, and patching up the old location. I wanted this done before the holidays, and after many last minute calls to several electricians and even a couple of handymen — yes, I was desperate — I found Lantern Electric. When I spoke with Jeff, I immediately felt he was the real deal, and my hunch was spot on.
He personally came out to my house on Saturday morning, he was punctual, clean and very professional. He completed the job with great attention to detail, which is something I greatly appreciate. He holds himself to a very high standard, and it shows. In less than 24 hours, I have a beautiful chandelier in my dining room and right in time for the holidays.

It was a blessing to find Lantern Electric on Unilocal AND have the reviews actually reflect the stellar experience my husband and I had with our electrical needs.
We found Lantern Electric in a pinch when we needed to install a sprinkler system. The owner, Jeff, showed up during the time scheduled to review the dilemma we were in. He also happened to notice how our landscaper was going to install a pipe to source the sprinkler system and explained that it was not an ideal approach and explained in detail why. The amount of knowledge Jeff has outside of electrical systems is very useful and helped us avoid a poorly designed sprinkler system with impacts to the rest of our home’s plumbing. Yay Jeff!
Since our initial encounter and project with Jeff, we have called him various times for other electrical needs (ironically, to fix issues caused by contractors working on other systems that have electrical impacts) and Jeff was able to get the job done well and showed up at the scheduled time. I like dealing with Lantern Electric because the service provided is personalized like a mom-&-pop shop but also provides the level of service with regard to knowledge, resources, and scheduling availability like larger companies.

I contacted Lantern Electric after finding them doing a Google search for Long Beach electrician. The response time was excellent. Jeff was very courteous and professional, And… He was kind enough to give me some very useful tips. Great Service! Call this morning and within a hour, Jeff was at the job site and repaired a couple of burnt GFI plugs. AND he even repaired a couple of other things, that were in need of repair. Very professional. Would highly recommend this man, really helped us out when we needed it the most. (BTW, I usually do not write reviews, but this guy deserved kudos)

Great experience. Typical story: I swapped out a fan switch on a live circuit, cuz that’s how I roll, and tripped a breaker and couldn’t get it to reset. I was convinced the 37-​year old breaker bit the dust, and as swapping out a breaker is beyond my electrical comfort zone I scoured Unilocal to find an expert. *Wife scoffs* «Typical guy… goof it up, then call the expert to fix it». I get past the inner rage and called a few people I found on Unilocal.One guy was out on vacation, the next didn’t answer, and has still yet to return my call. Finally, I try Lantern Electric and Jeff answers the phone. Great first step! I explain the situation, he said he can stop out after a job he was on his way out to, unless it was an emergency and he would head right over. I had to go to work but the babysitter was willing to let him in and Jeff confirmed «no problem». A few hours later the babysitter texted me they were there, and then later a happy text that everything had been fixed. I received a call later in the day from Jeff explaining the work he did. Turns out I couldn’t get the breaker to reset since there was a short in the box I had worked on. Yup, that sounds about right ~ and I would have tried to fix the wrong thing. They fixed the circuit and left an invoice. I returned later, to find everything working well, and couldn’t be happier. Jeff was very professional and proved himself to be very trustworthy. The babysitter even said Jeff and his assistant were very nice and she didn’t have any concerns. Thank you Jeff! Highly recommended for when you need someone to step in and get it fixed the right way.

Lantern was honest, made sure I understood what needed to be done, and had fair pricing. They were even able to fit me in for same day service, since I was having some problems that affected my kitchen. I highly recommend Lantern Electric.

Very prompt, very professional and did the work for the price agreed upon in advance of any work being done! The Electrician was very articulate smelled great! Last Electrician I used smelled like a Gym Bag filled with old sweat socks! YAAaaaY Lantern– those guys are GREAT!
