Dr Michael Lieppman saved my life!!!
I was 18 years old and just about to graduate high school. I had trouble seeing out of my right eye. Dr Lieppman examined me and made me go get a MRI that day. The next day I was at St Marys getting a brain tumor the size of a egg removed. I can not thank Dr Lieppman enough for catching something my regular doctor missed.

Dr. Lieppman is the very best Ophthalmologist and one of the most giving persons I know. He is so knowledgable and passionate about what he does. I am so thankful that he was so highly recommended to me by my Medical Doctor over 12 years ago. I have never been to an appointment where I haven’t received a warm and welcoming smile from Dr. Lieppman and his staff. He explains everything in a way that is easy to understand. He give me a list of exact instructions to follow. His office staff is also top notch. I am so thankful for him.
Dr Lieppman donates his time and does charity work helping under privileged people in the U.S. and other countries who otherwise would not be able to afford eye care. He is truly one in a million.

Dr Lieppman is fantastic! He is probably one of the most knowledgeable doctors I know. And having grown up in a physicians family… I know a lot.
His bed side manner is great. Staff is very proficient.
And they have a large selection of glasses.
Location and parking are easy to get to.
I would highly recommend Dr Lieppman.

Dr. Lieppman is a great ophthalmologist!!! He is very patient and kind with an excellent bedside manner. Not only is he very knowledgeable about the eyes, he also knows a lot about health and the human body.
There is nothing more frustrating than losing your vision. He literally saved my eyes and my vision. I used to get horrible headaches and did not know they were actually migraines. I was also unaware that I had both Glaucoma and Cataracts – I just knew I was having trouble seeing. I knew in my gut something was wrong and I am so thankful I went to him for a second opinion. Now, he’s my first choice for the care of my eyes and my loved ones eyes.

I highly recommend Dr. Lieppman — he is the BEST ophthalmologist and eye specialist there is. I feel extremely fortunate to have him as my doctor. He is passionate about medicine, health and wellness and extremely knowledgeable — you can ask him anything. We all deserve the absolute best when it comes to protecting our eyes for a lifetime. It is definitely worth the drive from Santa Monica to Long Beach to see Dr. Lieppman — plus parking is free, unlike the hospitals and medical buildings here in Santa Monica/​Beverly Hills, and the optical shop within his office provides great service, helps you pick out frames, and makes things very convenient.
A handful of Unilocal reviews does not mean Dr. Lieppman is anything less than 5 STARS. He doesn’t need to market his practice or give incentives for Unilocal reviews. All of Dr. Lieppman’s patients and their families have been seeing him for decades and may not be the savvy social media/​Yelp reviewers. Dr. Lieppman is THE ophthalmologist that doctors send their patients, family and friends to because he has saved the vision of so many and truly gives expert care.

Dr. Lieppman is hands down the best Ophthalmologist I’ve been to. He’s patient, he’s thorough, and he explains everything to me in a way that’s easy to understand. He’s truly passionate about medicine in general and eyes specifically. He’s always smiling and his calm demeanor always puts me at ease. I can’t recommend him enough, I’m really happy to have found someone I can trust to take care of my eyes and my vision.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lieppman for over 30 years. Every time I see him he gives me great advice on improving my vision through nutrition and lifestyle choices. I highly recommend Dr. Lieppman because he cares about his patients. My vision is good because of all the great proactive advice he has given me over the years. His optical shop has very competitive prices and his rates are very reasonable. Dr. Lieppman is the best in the business. Call his office and make an appointment.

This ophthalmologist is not my kind of doctor. 3 visits totaled way over $ 1000 in charges and he spent maybe 15 minutes with me in total. He rushed through the diagnosis explanation and talked down to me.
When I later asked for a single prescription renewal his office refused and tried to schedule another check up. They did finally call it in, but when I went to pick up the prescription for a small, less than a ¼ tsp of liquid, it was $ 122.00 at Sam’s Club!
The pharmacist called his office and told them there was a generic exact equivalent for only $ 4.00 and he refused to change the prescription TELLING the pharmacist that it was because I did not make another appointment!
Look up extortion. You’ll find him there.
Bottom line? Obviously money is more important to him than anything else. I have a big deductible and even with a small cash discount I spent a fortune at his office. And this was the thanks I got. I would give him a –2 star rating if I could!
