Michael P.’s OPA! OPA! GYRO GREEK FEAST!!!

Sorry it took me thiiis long to get to writing a review for your event.
My bff and I arrived uncharacteristically early despite the parking confusion. Yes, confusion because we didn’t know where to park or not park and downtown parking isn’t something we like to deal with. So, we ended up parking in our usual secret cheap spot (Yes, I am not telling you where it is). We skipped (or at least I did) over to the restaurant and saw the Unilocal welcome banner. I thought that was a nice touch.
We were greeted by one of the bartenders, who went to get another person. Little did we know that it was the owner himself, who later introduced us to a man sitting in the corner with his shades on, totally unrecognizable… Michael P! :]
And so begins the chitchat accompanied by sips of mimosas. M.P. you had me at $ 2 mimosas! A couple of mins later and the other Unilocalers arrived. Nice to meet you all! I’m bringing nametags next time, I’m so bad with names!
I’ve never had Greek food aside from Louks To Go, which I still don’t know if it counts as Greek. Anyway, the food didn’t disappoint. From the salad to the gyro (how is this pronounced, somebody correct me please?) to the lamb chops to the oh-so-wonderful-can’t-stop-eating-this dessert.
Definitely looking forward to more of your events MP :]

$ 2 Mimosas.
Relaxing patio covered by trees providing shade and tiny flowers fluttering down.
A variety and explanation of Greek desserts to sample.
A yummy vegetarian plate to enjoy.
Meeting some new Unilocalers and hanging out with some I haven’t seen for a while.
Our wonderful host, Michael P, effortlessly making his way from table to table.
Did I mention the $ 2 Mimosas?

It doesn’t take much to make me happy on a Saturday afternoon. Thank for organizing this Michael and thanks to George’s for being so welcoming (I love the welcome sign they had for us in front of the restaurant!).

Michael you know I wouldn’t neglect an opportunity to spend time basking in your utter ridiculousness, thank you for that. And thank you to Georges Greek Café for allowing us Unilocalers to hold down the patio for hours of food, booze and chatter. You are too kind.

I eagerly waited like a Twihard for this UYE. Three of the things I am super fond of– Michael P, George’s and LBC. THANK YOU Michael for hosting this event.
I am proud to say that this was my last meal of my old ponytail hairstyle. What a way to shed my old self to a new me. It was very chill and with the $ 2 mimosas and complimentary nosh (apps and desert) to boot, dyn-​o-​mite!
It was definitely nice to see new faces and some familiar ones. Really nice to see my LA friends show some love to LB.
Can’t wait for the next one.
BTW: Good idea on grubbing down first before everyone filtered in so you can fulfill your hostess with the mostest duties.

This was my first Unilocal event… and M.P., you rocked my expectation of Yevents.
See, back in the day, there was this silly thing called AOL… and they held events — just imagine a train wreck in an arm pit of a place, but socially awkward and filled with unhappy drunks.
Now imagine my first event hosted by Michael P. (ray of sunlight cloaked in sunglasses) and filled with… adults. Adiós training wheels, Hello M.P.‘s events. The locale was fantastic, the host superb, lots of smiles and laughter, and the food was the oasis in my month.
Thank You Michael, I know it takes a lot of work to put together an event and walk that fine line between a business owner extending his/​her livelihood and accurately predicting just how many people really will show up. Dimitri and his staff did an excellent job not only on the business end, but they took time to educate some of us on the bigger picture of the food we were sharing.

What a perfect day to hang on Georges comfy patio drinking and eating with some terrific Unilocaler folks. Nothing better than enjoying Greek food with our own Mediterranean weather.
Have been a fan of Georges for many years so of course all the food was perfect as always. Service… couldn’t have been better! The staff truly loves Michael and it showed in their loving care of all of us as well.

Thanks Michael P. for hosting such a nice UYE. The weather was great, the patio was great, the Hef was great, and the food was delish. What a nice way to officially enter summer!

Mimosas with Michael P. HELLO!?! It was my honor to attend his Greek Feast UYE. George’s Greek Café is a great venue to have a UYE at. Excellent crowd and wonderful Greek food on the patio on a beautiful June day on Pine Street in Long Beach.
It was nice to finally meet Melissa O., a fellow Tustin resident, and officially meet Dan H. as well as Michael P. I’ve been a follower of his for awhile. I saw Erin & Andrea, Jo and Mel, Steven and Ty, too. I sat next to Chad A. for a while listening to everyone talk — so interesting. Michael P. was the perfect host — a social butterfly until the very end making sure everyone had a good time. The restaurant even validated parking. For this event, I need a sixth star, please!
