Training dancers in the LA and Orange County areas for over 50 years, we pride ourselves in providing an excellent well-​rounded curriculum including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Creative Movement, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Conditioning, ZUMBA and Pilates.

Our class offerings are available for ages 2 — Adult and any level of talent, whether a beginner or professional dancer. We offer private lessons for those who might not be comfortable joining a class setting, or for those who want to master a certain set of skills.

As dance increases muscle tone and cardiovascular strength, our classes will develop poise, grace, posture, rhythm, and concentration.

History

Established in 1958.

Established by Marrillyn McDowell, MMSdance has continued its effort in developing a positive and creative environment for children, adolescents, and adults to learn, refine, and master their dancing skills. Continuing the family legacy, MMSdance is currently directed by, Marrillyn’s daughter Denise Knight; assisted by her daughters, Cheryl Hurley and Randi Kokis.

Our faculty consists of teachers from all across the United States with extensive studio, collegiate and professional training. Our teachers have been featured in, among other things, the tour of Celtic Tiger, RhetOracle Dance Company, music videos, and movies.

Meet the Business Owner

Denise K.

Business Owner

Denise has been performing since the very young age of two. Having been raised in a family of entertainers, it’s no surprise she has chosen dance as her profession. Denise received her extensive dance training with top professionals from all over the United States. She appeared in countless stage productions with Long Beach CLO and CLO of South Bay Cities.

Additional performance credits include Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm; promotional commercials for both parks, and appearing in the Paula Abdul workout video. As the director of MMSdance, Denise holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in dance.
