History

Established in 2011.

In August of 2011, Mira Knott walked into a local pizzeria where she would sometimes go get pizza to reward her nieces, after small talk with the owners she found out they would be closing in 10 days. The owners told her they tried selling for months and due to husbands health they couldn’t continue any longer. Being a full time Realtor Mira first offered to list the business for sale, after finding out the price she decided to buy it herself. After realizing she couldn’t do it alone, she asked her mother for help, considering her first job was at pizza hut as a manager, her experience with her family catering, her general love for cooking and of course some flattery naming it Momma Roses, her parents were confident it would be an investment risk worth taking. With only 4 days left before closing its doors Mira and her father make a deal with the previous owners, she gets the recipes, one day of training, one former employee & the rest shall we say is history in pizza making

Mira, co-​founder of Momma Roses Cucina started her restaurant career in 1990 working for her mother who was a part time caterer. In 1995 she began working as a customer serv. rep. for pizza hut, within months she began learning every position and became manager.

Although Mira has always had a full time job as a Realtor, cooking has always been her passion so she would cater on the side whenever possible.

Some of the recipes were bought with the business, over time with the help of staff/​family members Bubba, G and of course Mama Rose herself eventually the complete menu was changed.

Her passion for cooking helped her come up with some of the craziest delicious recipes by combining things she cooks well with pizza i. e, chicken enchilada pizza, jerk chicken pizza, carne asada pizza.

Don’t check id with credit cards. I lost my card someone charged 160.00 of food on my card. The owner didnt even think twice about it, than she said a child brought the card in but she accepted it without a problem. Hate to see if the tables was turn. I am very happy I never ate there. As a bussiness owner you should protect the customers.

Came here about three days ago with my friend, so let me first put this out there, the food is pretty good, hands down, the pizza is cheesy and it comes out freshly made, the order of wings was also freshly made as well, we got buffalo wings which were pretty delicious but they were pretty tiny, but flavorful. The reason I took off a star is because they take forever to bring you your food, the people next to us waited a good thirty minutes, probably even more for their pizza, but as we did, we waited patiently. I would say our food took about thirty minutes to come, so other than that, the pizza and wings are good, but be ready top wait a long while for your food to come! The owners seem friendly and they bring you your food when it’s ready, however they don’t come out to take your order, you have to go to the register to order what you want and then you sit somewhere and wait for your order to come. Now for the bottom line, would I come here again??? Besides the long wait, I’d say yes, why not! The food is tasty, the service just needs some speed.

Had to wait 30 minutes for dinner but it was worth the wait. Best meatballs and spaghetti plate I’ve had in years. Also excellent was the chicken fettuccini Alfredo plate. Very large portions. Excellent garlic bread and garden salad as well. What’s amazing is the excellent food quality combined with very reasonable prices. Service was ok but here patience pays off. Wish restaurant was in Torrance where I live.

I rarely write bad reviews. But I was disappointed with my order yesterday. First, our pasta took 45 minutes! And I had called it in before hand. The pasta was still undercooked and gave us heartburn.

Ordered food and it took them over two hours to get to my home even though we’re located right around the corner from the restaurant. Didn’t get the items we paid extra for even after calling and the girl answering the phone promised they would bring it. Very disappointing. Will never order from this place again…

I ordered online — greek salad — awesome and plentiful. thin and crusty pizza which didn’t come thin and crusty — more like a Sicilian pie (that’s deep dish pizza pie for you Californians). It was not bad for a Sicilian pie but I prefer thin and crispy. I would like to know if that is what they consider thin and crispy or if they made a mistake and sent a regular pizza.

looks/​feels more like a sports bar than a pizzeria. My food took longer to make than they had said it would and I’m 99% sure the appetizers are bought pre prepared and frozen from stores. during my visit i saw one of the workers take boxes of frozen wings (that I have seen at costco before) into the kitchen. besides the fact that they got my order wrong, I would have been more satisfied with buying frozen microwave pasta. 2 stars were given only because the guy that served me was friendly

Based on the food alone!
Tried this Pizza and Wings today and it was one of the best I’ve ever had.
The crust was fluffy and flavorful! The ingredients seemed pretty fresh and tasty!
The wings were not overwhelming. They had the right amount of sauce and crispiness.
I’ll be having this pizza and wings, again!

Coming from the NJ/​NY I’ve been around thee best pizza in the nation! After trying Momma’s pizza and I have to say the flavor profile is insanely good! Their BBQ pizza is on the MONEY! Aside from their pizza, there WINGS are incredible! We had the bourbon wings and it was YUMMMMM! Watch out Buffalo Wild Wings cause Momma is bring that FIRE!
Definitely revisiting flavor town again!

My family has been coming here for awhile! Was recommended by my brother and let me tell you… so worth it!
There are definitely some things you NEED to try! First their pizza is great! The chicken pesto is something to brag about! The pastrami is out of this world and an always order for my parents. The pasta is just ridiculously good and when I say I dare just 1 person to try and it eat! I mean it! I feel like you get a full pound of pasta with it, a handful of meatballs, stringy melts cheese and some awesome garlic bread. But my personal favorite thing to get; the WINGS! Let me tell you, wings are by far one of my favorites and I they knock them out of the park! Multiple flavors to choose from. My suggestion? The Bourbon or the Sweet Chili. Or if you are like us, we always order both!
Awesome place. Small homey feel with awesome food. Oh and you can’t forget a $ 2.50 pitcher of beer while you wait for your food!

I’m glad I found this whole in the wall. I love the unique pizzas & tht they offer a trio of mini pizzas which was helpful so tht I can try more than one pizza at once.
The Jamaican me crazy was my favorite! I forgot which pizza it was but that one had the soggiest crust. I think it was the pesto pizza. &the Twistin BBQ I think that was what it was called was a close second for me. Anyways, a must try!
Don’t be fooled by the exterior ruined by childish Californians.

Wanted to try some local owned pizza joint since dominos near me sucks bad. I was very surprised with what we got from here. Ordered the large cheese pizza and it was great! My kids liked it alot so that was good. The wife ordered a calzone and she said everything was good except she wanted regular Italian sausage and this came with sweet Italian I guess. I also ordered a side of buffalo wings to try that were pretty good too. The chicken quality was better I thought than most places. I will most likely order from here again for sure.
Now the only problem I had was the delivery. I ordered online and it took about an hour and fifteen minutes to get to me. That was quite a long time especially since I live within a mile of this place. Maybe next time it will be smarter to pick up.
Update. So we decided to go in and have us a pizza at the restaurant. When we walked in there was a lady working behind a counter who didn’t say hi or ask how she can help us. So I figured we’ll just sit wherever until someone helps us. So looking around we saw that a majority of the tables were really dirty. We found one that wasn’t too bad and cleaned it up ourselves. Now the whole time that lady had been looking at us off and on. We sat down finally but then got annoyed with the amount of ants crawling everwhere. Still no help so I said screw it and got up and left. Someone finally came out to talk to us from the back, made it all the way to my truck and asked us if we needed help. I just answered back no we’re good!

So, I have eaten there once, I tried again today, but no luck.
I ordered from an App last week, they contacted me to tell me 20 minutes later that they cannot make a delivery to me, but couldn’t explain why. Great, I spend another 30 minutes fishing online for somewhere else to deliver and I get a call back stating that their oven will be fixed in about 20 minutes then my food would be delivered about an hour after that. So I decided to wait. It took over 2 hours after that phone call for me to get my food, then they forgot my drink and the guy ignored me and walked out of my office so I contacted the company the App is through and eventually another person (in a dirty gross apron) brought me my can of soda.
But the food was pretty good, the fettuccini was pretty good, the salad tho had no dressing, and no croutons, what kind of salad is that? one for rabbits?
I also ordered buffalo chicken strips to meet their minimum, and they were just drenched in the sauce and sitting in sauce and grease when it arrived, I took several paper towels and blotted the chicken dry. But they tasted ok, I just could go without all that hassle tho.
Since the service wasn’t great last time but the food wasn’t bad I decided to order from there again. I got a call 30 minutes after I ordered, from the App company again, only this time stating that they don’t seem to have a delivery driver for the day. Awesome, just wasted more time with this restaurant when it could have easily been avoided.
Food isn’t bad, unfortunately I think they have no customer service skills or common sense. This will be the last time I try and order delivery from here, I think this shows how incompetent they are.

The crust to their pizza… omg, yummy. I really, really, really want to recommend a pizza but I can’t narrow down my favorite because every time I try a new one it becomes a new favorite — right now, it’s the Pesto pizza.
They make pasta and sandwiches, too. One thing I really like about this place is they will make your food how *you* like it. Extra sauce, less cheese, whatever.
