Montue Woodard & Associates

Went to Ted Montue for several years and always had good service until 2012 when they didn’t file our returns on time. We had tax liabilities and this mistake cost us thousands in additional tax penalties. Ted promised that they’d pay the penalties and never returned calls for resolution. I had no choice but to hire another tax professional to sort out the mess and set up payment plans for California state, and federal taxes.
Fast forward to 2016 and I should have everything paid off by June or July of this year. $ 1,000 out of pocket every month has severely hurt my family.
I always thought it was very shady that they had you take out a loan for your refunds with a specific company. I’m sure good old Ted gets a benefit from this. I hope the team is enjoying whatever lavish vacations Ted’s paying for this year.

The people here are so friendly and professional. I got an appointment the same day I called. Donnell prepared my taxes & answered all of my questions; he was great. I was in and out in an hour. I also payed half of what I was quoted at several other places. I will definitely be back next year.

That’s the only word I can think of. I was greeted so warmly and respectfully. I was asked to fill out some paperwork and was offered a beverage as I waited. I saw young kids being offered juice, crayons and coloring books. Now let’s move on to the tax service. I met with Ted and he proved that he was the best at his craft. He was not feeling well but was still focused on his clients which was impressive. Although I always owe taxes, coming here I owed less!

Although I had to bring up my eligibility for my $ 250 education supply credit, I came to this comfortable converted house (sodas for customers, toys for kids) to see Jesus for tax service after discovering I would owe over $ 1200 according to my tax software. After his calculations, I owed less than $ 300. Thank you Jesus!

My husband and I have gone to see Ted for years, and my parents have gone there forever. Ted is always so helpful asking all of our questions and giving good advice. The ladies at the front desk are always so sweet. We moved to Sierra Madre but will make the drive to continue going here, we love it! I highly recommend.

Great place to get your taxes done with no headache. Montue and Woodard is low key but professional. My guy is Jesse and I have gone to him for over 7 years. Always easy, if any problems, they take care of it. I highly suggest anyone still doing their own taxes to give yourself a break and leave it to the professionals.

Wow! I have been wasting my time with H&R Block, and that inconvenient tax app where you do all the work yourself, those days are behind me. I was referred to this professional tax service and upon arrival was presently surprised at the efficiency, and speed of service. I was educated on new laws (based on my questioning), and thoroughly satisfied with the overall service I received. Me and my fiancé have been coming to Montue for about 5 years. They are awesome. They treat you like family. They are so friendly and the girls at the front desk are awesome. Jesse does our taxes and always guides us with the best information. They are kid friendly too!

I scheduled for an appointment and was seen right away, the appointment went so smoothly. They have great customer follow-​up, and my tax return showed on my account within a few weeks. I have been going here about 12 years I worked in long beach where I was referred and now I have lived in inland empire for 8 yrs and still look forward to Mr Ted do my taxes he is great and 2 years Jessie helped us he is great also. They are all well mannered and knowledgeable tax professional a few years my taxes were also real simple that I fax all my info and all is handled with a simple phone call so. I actually trust them because it feels like they are there to help me. I am very very picky and I highly recommend them.

DON’T GET YOUR TAXES DONE HERE. I went one time in 2011 and will never go back because now I am dealing with the IRS. The people there are uneducated and now I’m paying for it. I called them to ask for their help with the IRS and they said they couldn’t help me. I don’t recommend going to this place.

Montue Woodard & Associates is a really professional tax preparer company. I found them online last year and decided to try them out. Well im so happy I did. A lady by the name of Chante prepared my taxes. Not only did she do my taxes she did my friends and all of my family members taxes. After referring all of my friends and family member I received a $ 250 dollar check for referring them. So thank you Montue Woodard &Associates im a very happy customer.

I had been a client of Montue, Woodard & Associates for about 15 years. After receiving a letter in the mail from the IRS stating that I owed money I contacted M, W & A. Over the phone I was told that I couldn’t write off my second home interest due to the interest not being reported on a 1098 form and that I should just pay the IRS. The reason I was told was because the IRS «now» uses computers and if it’s not on the Form 1098 then they have no way of computing it.
Well I decided to research this online and found on the IRS website that I could write off the interest and that it was just incorrectly reported on the wrong line. So the M, W & A associate made a mistake and I can live with that as long as they are willing to fix it.
How does a tax professional not know that you can write off Mortgage interest not reported on a 1098 form by just placing it on line 11 instead of line 10 of schedule A?
So I called M, W&A back to speak with them about what I had found on the IRS website. The gentleman that I spoke with then told me that I should call the IRS to see if that was correct. When I told him that I wanted M, W & A to fix it and send me the corrected forms he got upset and told me «I’m telling you the best way to do it, but if you don’t want to listen then…». Well if I had listened to him (the tax professional) the first time I would have already had a large check in the mail to the IRS which I clearly didn’t need to do.
Well not only do they not know simple taxes laws, but they don’t stand by their claim that if you get a letter from the IRS to just bring it in and they will take care of it. I guess once they have your money they don’t care about you the paying client.

I have been with Montue Woodard & Associates since I was 19 years old… Circa 2000. I could never, would never, go anywhere else for any of my tax or accounting needs. From the front office girls to every last tax person, they are there for you. They are always up to date on the newest laws and tax information. They prepare your taxes and hand you a neatly organized folder with all info including a disk to download your digital documents. They are the best!!!
Although I see them once a year I always feel like part of the family! And seeing as my ENTIRE family (immediate and extended) go there, we are part of a great big family!
