Dr. MACIOG has been one of the best Doctor’s I have had, Dr. MACIOG has had her own health issues through the years and has continued to do her best, I for one am going to miss her. I have been a patient of hers since she started practicing medicine following her from two other locations. She opened her own family practice on Spring St. and did very well there sorry to read all the negative reviews believe me if Dr. MACIOG suddenly just closed her doors it’s for a darn good reason, Doctors have lives also. The girls at the front desk could have done better. I’M grateful to have known her and couldn’t of been in better care. I wish her the best !!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Maciog for several years. She has always been extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and attentive; quite simply the best doctor I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. I was very sad to see that she has had to close her individual practice and move to a group practice setting. While I have every confidence that, should she be able to continue to see patients, her standard of care will not change, I fear, however, that she may be winding down to retire or is having some medical issues of her own. I certainly hope that the latter is not true, but she has had some serious back surgeries in the past. For those who are complaining about the abrupt closure of her office, I understand your frustration, but I think we owe her the same level of compassion that she has always shown us. I am sure that she would not have moved/​reduced her practice unless she absolutely had to do so. I wish her well.

My mother had Dr. Maciog for a few years and she was horrible, she never returns phone calls or emails, my mother was going through many health issues and she could never get anything resolved appts. etc. In my opinion she’s a Dr. that just doesn’t care!

I am so frustrated with Dr. Maciog’s office staff. I called a total of 4 times to get prescriptions refilled and still don’t have them. The staff lie, misplace documents and don’t seem to care about meeting a patients needs. Thank God I’m not severely injured or terribly sick. I like Dr. Maciog but her staff are unprofessional and uncaring!

This office is a complete headache to deal with.
1. Waited over 2 weeks for my new patient paperwork in the mail, finally call and they admit they forgot to send it out.
2. It’s over a month wait for a first appointment with this doctor just for an initial «Meet and Greet». I was told she only takes 2 meet and greet appointments a week.
3. Called because I have chest pains and numbness in my left arm. They said they didn’t want to take me because it was a risk to them. Aren’t doctors supposed to be take all patients no matter what the condition? They told me to go back to the urgent care I’d seen over the weekend or ER.
I’m switching PCP ASAP.

Good doctor but hard to get an appointment

I am absolutely done with the staff at Dr Maciog’s office. They have lied over and over again and no one especially the office manager takes accountability for their actions. I liked Dr Maciog but waiting a month and a half to get in to see her is unacceptable. Once I told them how frustrated I was with their unprofessional ism and that I was looking for a new dr. The office manager just said. We will send over your medical records. Just like that… The thing is I will tell everyone I know about my experience with this office. I’m totally disgusted with this place.

she is the best dr. with poorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr worse customer’s service empls! after 8 years being with this wonderful dr., 5 months ago, her empls. told me i don’t have insurance, then, they told me the results of my blood test are not in (they were there since 4 days), then, they told me, the dr. does not have time to sign them… (liesssssssssssssss), just horrible!!! i thought i will never again go to this dr! now after 5 months and being in an accident, and havingpain, i gave them another chance because she is a knowledgeable super nice dr. since 3 days, 10 times calls, everytime they put me on hold for each times 10 – 12 minutes, and still no appointment!!! i’m done!!! sorry my wonderful dr. maciog, i love you very much but goodbye!!!

For many years, stuck in HMO hell, I searched far and wide for a Primary Care Physician with whom I felt comfortable and confident, and who would not subsequently then leave my HMO for greener pastures.
It was not until a friend recommended Dr. Maciog that I found that person, and now that I have been her patient for several years I can say hands down that I do not intend to leave her practice ever.
Dr. Maciog is a wonderful, knowledgeable, patient, caring doctor. She takes the time to answer questions and explain what I need to know. This is no mean feat, as I am prone to anxious over-​questioning at times. ;)
When I have needed to see a doctor that day and have called in the morning, I have ALWAYS been given an appointment for that day.
Once, when I was very sick with an upper respiratory infection over the weekend, I woke up Sunday morning, called her office, and left a message with her service. I was hoping she would call in a prescription for me later that day. Instead, not 15 minutes later, and well before 8:00 am, she called me herself to discuss my symptoms (and not in the that, «I’m the doctor and you’re lucky to speak with me» manner, but quite congenially and refusing all thanks) and then called in the appropriate prescription.
I cannot say enough about Dr. Maciog. As with my CPA, Clifford Chard, my optometrist, Dr. Michael DeCarlo, and my mechanic, Andy Klein of Overseas Garage, all of whom I also adore, I hope Dr. Maciog outlives me and that I never have to search for another doctor again.

I’ve been going to Dr. Maciog for 10 years now. She was my Mother’s doctor for many years, and we’ve never had a better primary care physician. It is true that Dr. Maciog is thorough, compassionate, and takes her time. As to her staff, I am not sure who answered the phone back in Feb 2013 leading to a negative review, but I feel the current staff is the most courteous and professional of any doctor’s office I have ever visited. They are friendly, efficient, and obviously well-​managed by Dr. Maciog.

I love Dr. Maciog — she’s wonderful! But I have to agree that her staff are some of the rudest I’ve come across. Whenever I make an appointment, the girl on the line is impatient and short with me. It’s strange that such a nice doctor would have staff members that are really just not nice :(.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Maciog for several years. I am relatively healthy so I don’t go very often, which is one of the reasons Dr. Maciog stands out as an outstanding physician. She has a terrific memory for her patients, and as another satisfied patient pointed out, she is very thorough and wants to keep you well. She is very good about making sure as you move through various milestone ages, that you are given the necessary tests to make sure she has a baseline for you in the event anything comes up. She is an intelligent and compassionate woman and ’tis a pleasure having her as my primary care doctor. Also, I’ve found her front office staff to be very pleasant.
As an aside, to address some of the less than stellar comments, given the state the healthcare system, we all need to be a bit patient about seeing our doctors. They are inundated with appointment requests. If you’re very sick and can’t get in, that’s when a trip to the urgent care center is called for.

I have never « Unilocaled» before, but feel it necessary at this time. I had an appt. on my calendar for 11−29−12 @ 1:30 for a blood pressure check. I arrived at 1:15 to find the doors locked. The sign on the door said they were out to lunch until 2:00. I left and returned a little past 2:00 to be told by the front desk girl that I could not be seen and would have to reschedule. I asked what time they had my appt. scheduled for and they said 1:45. I asked why they would schedule that time slot when their sign said they were closed until 2:00. She said that even though the sign said they were closed they were actually there. Then I asked why their door was locked when I arrived earlier. I asked if I could still be seen and she told me no I would have to reschedule. I was shocked. They only had one person in their waiting room.
I asked why no one called me to confirm my appt time and was told they ALWAYS call to confirm. At that point someone else came up front with a list and you could see that all the names were highlighted except mine… I was never called. And after all this was still told I could not be seen. I left and got in the elevator at the same time as another person. She was also coming from Dr. Maciog’s office which meant that was one less person in that office. I called back and asked once again if I could be seen and was told no. The lady on the elevator asked my how many times they might have made someone wait and I thought «what a good point». Called again and was told that they had a 2:15 & a 2:30 coming in and that it would set them back. I responded with «they are not there yet»!!! By that time I am sure my blood pressure was off the charts!!! I called again to ask to have Dr. Maciog call me at that time FRANCINE got on the phone and said «SO LOOK» and I said «SO LOOK I cannot believe you actually addresed me like that»!!! She actually said, after calling three previous times that if I was still in the area I could come back. I told her I did not want to come back but wanted Dr. Maciog to call me. She told me she would have to tell Dr. Maciog because I was her patient, but pretty much said she couldn’t promise she would call. Needless to say I have never received a call back. I really liked Dr. Maciog but will not go back due to the treatment of her staff. Maybe Dr. Maciog doesn’t care but your front desk can make or break you… in this case it is going to break you!!!

Ugh. I feel so bad about doing this. But a gal’s gotta do what a gal’s gotta do. Have you seen MI:4 yet? You know the part where he goes through hell to get into the Kremlin? Well, I’ll liken that to getting an appointment here. Okay, it’s not THAT bad, but I swear, unless you’re deathly ill, you’re not getting in for about a month no matter what.
And if you are sick? Well I called on one such Friday morning telling the front desk gal I had a fever, only to get «We don’t do appointments on Fridays» and a curt «Thanks. Bye.» in return. So, yeah, you don’t do appointments on Fridays. Fine. I get it. Doctors enjoy Friday off as much as I do. But how about the staff giving me some options or something, coming in on Monday or whatever the case my be. Not even asking my name or anything.
So, while I do really like Dr. Maciog herself, I just can’t deal with waiting so long every time I need to make an appointment and the harsh staff.

As an RN, I am around Physicians daily. Dr. Maciog has been my Primary Physician about 2 years and I am so HAPPY to have found her. She is intelligent, listens, and definitely a wonderful Doctor. Highly recommend her. Her staff is a little «young» but friendly, and Dr Maciog handles anything she feels is important (like filling out the lab work herself).

Great, easy going doctor. My whole family has been under her care for years.

Dr. Maciog has been my doctor for YEARS and I love her so much. She is compassionate and thorough. I love having a one Doctor office just like the «old days». She is amazing. I just hope she practices until she’s 100. :-)

Dr Maciog RULES. Very patient, very funny, very intelligent, very thorough… In the fewest of words, I thoroughly adore going for my appointments…

She’s a great doctor who takes the time to listen and to explain in detail. How she manage to do that when she’s just one person and has a huge patient base, I have no idea. I drive all the way from Temple City to Long Beach because I trust her and she’s taken great care of me for about 12 years. You won’t feel alienated with her, I promise.

I love my doctor. I know that very few people can say that, but I do. When I was a kid, I had an awesome pediatrician, Dr. DeGeorge. When he would look in my nostrils and ears he would tell me that he could see Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in there. In retrospect, I should have probably found this terrifying, but I was 5 and I thought he was amazing. He made me laugh even when I was feeling sick and always prescribed bubble gum-​flavored medicine because he knew how much I loved that stuff. He made me feel safe, comfortable, and happy to see him. I secretly hoped that maybe he’d adopt me someday. For many years after, I was convinced that I wanted to be a pediatrician because I wanted to be just like him. Anyway, our insurance changed, we moved, and Dr. DeGeorge wasn’t my doctor anymore much to my dismay. I never met a doctor I liked as much as he until I met Dr. Maciog.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Maciog’s for nearly five years and I couldn’t be happier with her. She is incredibly thorough and doesn’t make me feel like she needs to get me in and out quickly. She takes incredibly detailed notes on family medical history and has an amazing memory. I know this sounds lame, but I feel like I’m visiting a friend when I see her. Like me, she was a literature major in college, so we often talk books (her second major was biology). Also, I’m kind of a dork, but when I see my doctor I make a list of things I need to bring up. Dr. Maciog goes through everything on my list and makes sure I leave assured that she has addressed all of my concerns.
I didn’t realize how difficult it is to find a great doctor (being so spoiled early on). I feel incredibly fortunate to have found Dr. Maciog.
