Primal Flower

It took me long enough, but I’m transferring over a past review regrading my 2014 wedding since Primal Flower has a new location, but it all still holds true:
I cannot praise Shelley of Primal Flower enough for her talent, warmth, and taste! I found her work via Unilocal,and I am signing up as a reviewer to be able to thank the wonderful people who made my wedding day so perfect. These are my first reviews, and well worth it! I was drawn in by the work I saw on her website, initially, and after meeting with several other florists, I was thrilled Shelley was able to do the flowers for our wedding. Not only was she the most reasonably priced of all the florists I met with, but was the most flexible, the most sensitive to budget, and also the most creative, with a taste that meshes perfectly with my own. I love the lush, romantic, southern style of her arrangements. It’s a very natural, but artful look, which is precisely what I wanted… and is something that is very hard to find. Tight, formal arrangements wouldn’t have worked for the vintage style of our wedding, and Shelley exceeded all expectations, which were already very high, based on what I’d seen of her work and what we had discussed at our meetings together.
I told her the colors I liked (and disliked). She asked me what flowers I wanted, and where we needed arrangements, but I also trusted her to choose what was in season and which spaces would work best. She was flexible in making changes as we went along and even came out to the venue to see the space with which she’d be working. The results were absolutely gorgeous. I couldn’t be happier and my family and guests were so impressed with her work, as well! I was married in the beautiful garden of the Sepulveda Home, which was lovely in its own right, but Shelley’s work made it all the more magical.

Shelley is amazing! Her flowers are always beautiful and fresh! I’ve used her for countless occasions and have always received compliments on her arrangements. You put in the price range you are looking for and she will put something special together for you! If you need a local florist, I highly recommend her!

Thank you Shelley for absolutely exceeding our exceptions for our wedding! We were referred to Shelley & she did all the floral arrangements (bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, garland arch, and centerpieces) for our wedding in July of this year. I will attach some photos as well!
Pros–
— Shelley met one-​on-​one with my husband and I to hear our preferences and also offer ideas/​inspirations. She spent about an hour looking at arrangements with us and was incredibly warm and easy to connect with.
— After meeting with us, she curated a Pinterest board for us, with details of our taste. This was going above and beyond & made us feel very confident that she would create the perfect floral arrangements for the wedding
— The day of the wedding, Shelley was relaxed, professional, & carried out with exactly what she had promised. We were so impressed with the arrangements she created– they matched our taste but were even more beautiful than we could have expected!
— She understood our budget and was helpful in suggesting ways to stay under that number!
— The day of the wedding, we realized we hadn’t told her the correct number of boutonnieres that we needed! She was so flexible and without hesitation created a couple more on the spot. We were so impressed with her calm demeanor & easy going attitude
Cons– none that I can think of, seriously!
Our guests were blown away by her work– we got numerous comments about how beautiful the arrangements and garland arch were & we felt that she had been attentive to our style but also so creative in designing the arrangements. We loved everything! Overall, our experience with Shelley was extremely positive and cannot say enough good things about her. If you need a florist, she is the best!

The flowers from Primal Flower for my daughter-​in-​law and son’s wedding were beautiful! Succulents were featured and the designs for the centerpieces and bouquets were unique and stunning. Unlike regular flowers, we were able to plant the succulents after the wedding and they are a living reminder of a perfect wedding day. Thanks, Primal Flower!

Shelley is a dream to work with. She went above and beyond for our wedding and my husband and I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. She was so accommodating, detailed, creative and I loved all of her recommendations. I fully trusted her with styling and beautifying every element of our wedding — she did a phenomenal job. She worked within our budget and made the whole process seamless from beginning to end. We received countless compliments on our set up and much of the credit goes to Shelley!

My wife and I hired Primal Flower in January for our wedding and we were blown away by their ability to realize each and every detail we had imagined.
Shelley, the owner, was so attentive and easy to communicate with. She invited us to her lovely store and worked with our budget and vision while adding a wealth of knowledge about local and seasonal flowers and plants.
If I get married again, Primal Flowers will be there!

I used Primal flowers for my wedding this last April. Shelley Anders and her team were AMAZING! I had a plan and a specific budget that I wanted to stick to and she was able to deliver on both. I had a rustic wedding the involved a dark grey and mustard yellow décor. The flowers were on time, exactly how I imagined them and were absolutely beautiful. I would recommend her to anyone having a wedding.

This is my 2^nd review in support of Primal Flower, not sure what happened to the first one. However, I still feel Primal Flower is one of the best florists around! Shelley is a wonderful floral designer and I can count on her to create a gorgeous arrangement for my very picky mother, who has a great appreciation for flowers and floral design. I turn to Primal Flower for every birthday and special occasion. Like I said in my previous review, I’m not one to say «I have a florist…», but I now do! My florist is Primal Flower!

Ive bought my wife flowers at the old location quite a few times and just recently went into the new shop to get her flowers, and it is so nice! I love that i can go by our local flower shop and know ill always have great customer service from shelley and beautiful flowers to take home!

I love every experience when I go into primal flower! I was so sad to see her moving from the east village arts district, but once I saw she was still going to be close by I was more than thrilled! Thank you so much Shelley for all the beautiful flower arrangements you have made for me for all my family events, whether it be birthdays or just because flowers, they’re always spectacular! You are really the best !

I loved my yellow garden wedding bouquet so much that I had my husband ordered the same bouquet for our first year anniversary.
Shelly heard what I had in mind in designing the bouquet. The flowers were much more beautiful and mesmerizing! I can see the intricate care and artistic skills in crafting the bouquet.

Shelly and Primal Flower are the absolute best. I cannot even begin to adequately explain how talented Shelly is. We will be using her for my daughter’s wedding. Her unique arrangements, and beautiful flowers cannot be compared to «regular» florists. Cannot recommend her enough, you will not be disappointed.
I would like to add to my previous review now that the wedding is over. The bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces were perfection, just exquisite. We could not be happier with the results. If there was somewhere else I could leave this review, I would. Again, cannot recommend her enough. The biggest bummer is that we cannot keep the flowers forever!

I cannot write enough good words about the immensely talented and amazing woman, Shelley, behind Primal Flower. I found her while searching online for my Southern Californian wedding at Point Vicente. I was planning long distance and needed really professional vendors who can take my vision and run with it without much supervision. Having been in the wedding industry, I had a strong vision for beautiful flowers, but I also knew talent when I saw it. Shelley’s work was impeccable. She was super flexible as well. When my husband decided to change our wedding colors halfway through, she did not miss a beat, and was able to match the new color challenge easily. I am SO in love with the flowers Shelley made for my wedding, they were one of the highlights of the day. Each petal was perfect, fresh, and beautifully arranged. Her pricing was just perfect, and it was a great pleasure working with her.
