Restore Your Floor Hardwood Flooring

Luciano did an excellent job restoring our 1960’s white oak flooring. He and John were always prompt, professional, courteous and above all FAIR. This business is a prime example on how all service businesses should be run. Their number one goal is to end up with a satisfied client who would be happy to refer out their work. Well guys, you have succeeded. Well done! Two tips you may consider that will make your future customers positive experience stand out more with your service: 1. Request detailed photos of what your clients are expecting as final results. 2. Request payment, AFTER the floors have completely cured to ensure they are happy with the finished work. Again, well done guys!

Restore Your Floor did an outstanding job for me. I had bought a condo and when removing a built in cabinet discovered the engineered wood flooring in the room did not extend under it. Fortunately the previous owner had saved some leftover boards when the floor had been installed three years ago as the flooring had been discontinued and there is nothing on the market to match it.
Luciano came out and did an outstanding job figuring out how to use all the remaining pieces (there wasn’t much) and to lay in the pieces so that it looks like there never was a rectangular spot where the cabinet was. Great job!

We contracted these guys to refinish our original 1953 white oak floors throughout the house and Nelson did a fantastic job. He suggested replacing some planks that had termite damage or were severely cracked, now I can’t notice which are the originals or what was replaced, he blended the wood very well. Would recommend these guys to our neighbors.

Renovating a 1950 house. Called John to get an estimate. The estimate came in at what I had googled as going price per foot. John sent his floor man Nelson out to start the work on my floors. Nelson was on time and started to work. I was fortunate doing this the week of Christmas. I was able to leave while work was done. A week to sand, replace damaged boards and restain and then Nelson came back to seal. It takes a week. The sealer has a light smell. So it’s better if you can arrange good timing for this process.
Nelson showed me different stain choices and went back over different spots that were showing some old stains and I took the opportunity while the floor was stripped to replace a few more boards. My floors are finished and look absolutely beautiful. This company is very experienced at what they do.
Prices are reasonable. John called several times making sure everything was on track.

We’re really happy with the work Restore your floors did with our floors. Our hardwood floors were hidden under laminate and some of the wood was really damaged. Restore your floors replaced the wood and you can’t even tell when looking at the floors where the new boards are at.
Luciano was a pleasure to work with and once we told him what kind of stain we were looking for he was very helpful in showing us samples on our floors.

I purchased a house some a few months ago. The floors were a bit beat up so I decided to restore them. I contacted these guys for an estimate. Luciano showed up at my home on time and gave me a more than reasonable price. Luciano began working on it right away. The whole process took about three days. Luciano did an amazing job!!! I couldn’t bit believe that it was the same floor. I am very happy with the results and I would recommend these guys to anyone! You won’t be disappointed. First of all, John called me back right away and set up an immediate meeting for an estimation (the next day). John and Luciano worked with me and expedited the job (the following Monday). In the middle of July 2015 we had Restore Your Floor come out to give us an estimate on possibly installing some Red Oak in our Kitchen and Master Bedroom (which was added on to the house) and refinishing our existing to match. I had received another estimate from a different company and was wanting one other to compare to.
After a few hiccups in the beginning with scheduling an estimate we agreed on a price and a time frame. We were in a rush to get the floors done, and John and his crew were ready for the challenge. That very next day, after agreeing to the terms the night before Luciano was at my door step with the new Red Oak. After acclimating, the crew got to work. Including replacing all the termite damage and pet urine stained sections.
We are in the process remodeling our entire home ourselves and RYF is the only contractor we have dealt with in doing so. We had to work around them on a Saturday, and the entire crew was fun to work side by side with. It didn’t even seem like we had a contractor there.
I have seen quite a few homes with refinished floors, and tons of before/​after pictures, very few come close to Johns quality. Fast forward 5 days later, My wife and I have awesome looking Chestnut Stained Red Oak floors in our 1950’s Lakewood Home.

Called and we spoke to make an appointment for John to come see our home. He was good in returning our call but failed to show up or even give us a call to let us know if he was lost or running late. Just take accountability and say you just forgot because maybe you have too much on your plate.
He never showed up and I texted him where he was, no answer.
John, it is not about your work. It is about the first impression that you make and respecting people’s time and being more responsible. Apparently you have stood up on other people before as they have stated in their reviews about you, which I read and was afraid to call you at first, but I do support small businesses and wanted to give it a try anyways. We all work hard as well in our jobs.
And please, do not lie that I texted you «way later on Friday night.» We had spoken on Thursday and I was driving back home so I did not text you til I got home on Thursday night after work. I was out at a party on Friday night, so clearly I did not text you, for I had done it earlier. So do not say I texted you on Friday.

I wish I could give these guys six stars! If you have a chance to get Luciano and his crew working on your floors you should feel lucky. Amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail. Our home was built in 1941 and has beautiful oak floors, but I don’t think they had EVER been cared for. We had some cat-​urine staining and water damage, in addition to several decades of wear and tear. Luciano and his guys made them look brand new, at a very reasonable cost. It’s a small local company, and it’s not always possible to get someone on the phone immediately, but I thought they did a good job of communicating with me and my wife. One item to note is that we wanted a very durable finish, and had to inquire about this before John mentioned that Bona makes an extra-​tough sealer that costs a bit more than the normal grade. We are very happy with the results and are glad that our floors have that extra level of protection, because with kids and pets we are pretty hard on them. We love our floors!!!

John never came out to bid he asked for the measurements over the Internet. 3 rooms were not enough sq ft for him to be interested in the job. He won’t get out of bed for any job that is not over 500sq ft or $ 2,500.00 or more. Average cost to refinish $ 3-​$ 4.00 per sq ft. John price $ 6.00 because he told me this was art… hum John this is a process not an original creation… get grounded.

We called Restore Your Floor to replace a water damaged wood floor in our bathroom. Their foreman, Luciano, removed the flooring and rebuilt the joists and subfloor, since they also were damaged. He installed new unfinished hardwood flooring, one plank at a time. He sanded, stained and sealed the new floor. We are very happy with the result! Luciano is a perfectionist & easy & fun to work with. We look forward to working with him again and recommend him highly!

My husband and I bought our first house and discovered some not so beautiful floors underneath our carpet. We had three people come and bid on the floors and Luciano was not only the most knowledgeable but the most personable.
He was able to replace some of the damaged wood and it is seamless. I can’t even tell where the repairs were done. Our floors are finished and they are absolutely beautiful I love them so much. We get so many compliments and I would recommend this service to anyone. Thank you!

The owner of this business had me send all my info and appointment time to come out for an estimate. No show, no call. Not the best business practice. I would not recommend this business. I looked on Unilocal and came across Omar’s hardwood floors. He was on time and was very informative. I hired him. My floors are getting done next week. A big job you missed out on.(15,000) John, Unilocal is an honest and valuable tool. As I business owner I know this. And as a business owner I also know to take care of your Unilocalers and be informative with them.

I tried calling them and nobody picked up. The website also doesn’t work. I’ll change the number of stars on this review once I get a hold of someone.

John, Estafania and Luciano are a great team. Luciano came out on time for the initial estimate. I called them back a week later for a re-​consultation due to newly discovered pet damage hiding under the carpet (no it wasn’t the Boxer and his AR15). Luciano explained how to possibly remedy the situation and gave me a full on demonstration with several real color samples to give me a true interpretation of what to expect. I obliged and the job started with ETA, deposit, and total amount due upon completion. There were minor miscommunication issues along the way but John kept his word and made it right which is PARAMOUNT. Job was completed on time and was beautiful as promised. Would recommend.

I am so pleasantly pleased. We have had such bad experienced with contractors lately, seems like no one takes pride in their work anymore, but these guys do. Luciano and the crew were great! Clean, efficient, friendly, but most of all our wood floors look prettier than the day they were put in. I had one area I did not like and Luciano was out the next day. John who? In my case John was a voice on the phone. So why am I giving him 5 stars? Luciano. Luciano came out and bid the job. Luciano came out and did all the work. Luciano is one hell of a gem and he made John’s business.
About the job. The hardwoods were ruined. They had not been taken care of for at least six years and the prior owner (and then tenant) had two large dogs. One who happened to decide that the entry way to one of the rooms would double as a bathroom. That left 18 boards that were stained and needed to be replaced. Overall the floors were a wreck. I almost expected Luciano to say «give it up, put down carpet.» But he didn’t. He measured off the space and then I got the quote within 48 hours. It was one of three quotes and it was not the highest or the lowest. So why not go with the other two? Luciano. He asked questions and then told me exactly what he was quoting and why. He suggested a set of options and was very straight forward on what the upsides and downsides of all of the options were.
I was GCing the remodel, and I was also doing a good portion of the work (not my usual line as I am a retired CTO). So, unlike many I was on-​site every day, and even working on the project when Luciano was. Luciano gave me notice on when I could have other contractors there (working on the kitchen) and when I could not have anyone there. He worked with me helping set up a schedule that allowed work in other areas to progress while he was working. This alone cut three days off the project thus allowing for faster completion of the overall project.
At one point Luciano needed to have a short day. Rather than telling me «I’m done for the day.» Luciano explained the reason he had to go and asked if I was okay with that. Amazing. I wish all the contractors on the job were as thoughtful.
The work was excellent. Luciano is a top quality craftsman. When completed the replaced 18 boards merged into the older boards 100%. If you had not seen the stained boards prior to the work, you wouldn’t know that there were boards replaced.
If I ever have a need for any hardwood work to be done in the future, the first call I will make will be to John, as long as he sends Luciano. I am pleased as punch, and can’t sing the praises of Luciano, his work ethic, and his quality workmanship at his craft high enough.
