The best thing about this hotel is the location. You are in the heart of Long Beach and walk everywhere.
When we checked in we were given a smoking room. I had asked for non-​smoking. No big deal, they changed our room, but the stench in both rooms was nearly a deal breaker. The only reason we stayed was because my husband went to the hardware store and purchased two fans. We opened windows and moved as much air as possible. Aside from the bathroom fan, there is ZERO ventilation in the rooms. No vents, no fans, no AC — nothing.
The pool appears clean, but the bottom is scary. It is missing huge patches of the plaster/​stucco, etc. at the bottom. It made me nervous. The beds were very uncomfortable, luckily we anticipated that issue and brought a bed pad with us. The bathtubs do not rain correctly. I don’t know if it is because of sand, but that is what backed up into the tub when we turned the water on. Pretty gross.
I can say that the staff was friendly. And again, the location is great. Not for the faint at heart.

Not somewhere I’d stay again. Fairly clean for a very old and dated hotel. Beds were decent. The room did smell old and musty though. The continental breakfast consists of breads and cereals on a table in the lobby-​as seen in pictures. Like I always say «You get what you pay for».

A few good things about this place were the location, the breakfast they had and the motivation to place a negative review … my stay in room 108 was quite a dislike. Bedding such as the blankets were not clean (had pubic hairs) and the stench of the room was a mixture of convalescent home with a hint of smoker’s alley puff (I did request a non smokers room). The bathroom tub was not at all inviting had stains and needed to be replaced. I decided to air the room for several hours when I realized the windows had no screens. Nice. After a request, housecleaning could not assure they would fit properly due to the resent storms. I’m not sure how this place is getting positive reviews .?? Check out: The assistant manager did provide 20% off the total bill after hearing the above issues I encounterd and for that I was great full ;)

Great motel, for cheap. Friendly staff, clean rooms, microwave, refrigerator, pool, large room, takes pets for 7.00 per night. That is a cheap pet cost. Close to downtown and beach. the only reason for four stars instead of five, color of building…

I’ve stayed here a couple of times while doing my military reserve duty and I can’t say I have any complaints about the place, though I don’t know what the prices are, so I can’t really make a qualitative statement with that in mind. It’s your basic, no-​frills motel. The rooms have a mini-​fridge (unstocked), a TV, and a coffee-​maker. Both times I’ve stayed there it has been clean and problem-​free. This is the type of place to stay when you aren’t planning to hang out in the room (i.e.- you’re here to see Long Beach and do things involving the sea), so keep that in mind.

It’s nice and comfy, nothing fancy. Gave me a great deal for one night, free use of crib for my baby, etc. Friendly staff. Clean room, good size for the price, heck it could’ve been a Apt studio lol. I would stay here again in the future.

This is a good hotel to wait out a storm.
I needed to be in Long Beach for work the day of the 2012 Snow Armageddon, so I drove down the night before. The hotel is located directly downtown near bar and restaurants. The staff were very polite and helpful. The room is clean, has a refrigerator, microwave, and free high speed internet. And, it only cost $ 53.
You really can’t go wrong for the amenities, location, and price.

I really liked this hotel, it was simple, in a good area, and clean. My only complaint is that they have flat pillows, but we all survived! We were going on our vacation to stay mostly in Oregon, but landed in this downtown area first and spent most of our time here and in the areas around it. It was the perfect spot for my 5 year old son.

This is the best hotel in Long Beach, and I cannot understand the low ratings it is getting. The Rodeway took me and my girlfriend in on another of our crazy coastal excursions with ready easy at something like thirty minutes after midnight when our final destination had abruptly and randomly changed. They have us, in May, so hardly the depths of winter, a room with a full kitchen and two beds for the price of a single bed since they realized we’d only need one (and didn’t say anything about it), all for about $ 70.00.
The room was comfortable, not too hot or too cold, my usual complaints with hotels that keeps me from sleeping in them, and the service and kindness was a welcome relief. In short, this is the best coastal hotel on the Washington Side by the Columbia river bar, especially for the very reasonable price.

I blame my dislike of this hotel on Long Beach, WA. In spite of promises of nearby beaches, museums, state parks, restaurants, shops and other tourist attractions, we found Long Beach to be rather dull. It was also cold, windy and rainy. Pretty much cancelled out one of Rodeway Inn’s main selling points: proximity to the beach.
Anyways, as per usual, we chose Rodeway Inn because it was cheap. The staff were friendly, the room was fine, and I think we even got away with leaving our car in the lot for a couple hours past checkout. But it was nothing special and a little sad and drab. My main complaint is that it’s one of those hotels where the rooms exit into the great outdoors instead of into a hall. This is not Hawaii — what were they thinking?! To get to the lobby, for example, you had to go outside, down a flight of stairs, and across the parking lot. Not so appealing or convenient at night and/​or in the cold.
Our room was pretty bare bones but the website shows other accommodations with kitchenettes and sitting areas. The website also says there is free wifi and continental breakfast, and that the hotel is pet friendly (for a fee). On the way to the beach we passed the World Kite Museum & Hall of Fame* and a horse ranch/​riding facility. While in town we played a game of mini golf and tried to walk along the boardwalk while it was windy and drizzling. I don’t remember being that impressed with the dining experiences. At one point we ate at McDonald’s (which was teeming with teenagers, man I feel sorry for them growing up here!). Thank goodness we also went to Cannon Beach, otherwise this would have been a miserable trip.
Long Beach is near Cape Disappointment State Park and Lighthouse and about half an hour from Astoria, OR. Perhaps it’s a cool town during the summer or if you go with a plan and that plan involves alot of relaxing and not much activity. Our stay was not horrendous but neither the Rodeway Inn nor Long Beach did it for me.

Right near downtown this is a great place to rest and be able to walk to all off the sites downtown and the beach. No this isn’t beach front property but we found the location great as it was near everything we wanted to see! You can walk to the go carts, beach, horses, kite museum, arcades, icecream parlor, shops and great places to eat. Also very close to Marsh’s Free Museum. A good place for those traveling with pets too. They gave us a fantastic discount when we stayed here for our family reunion. Also have a small outdoor pool for the kids to enjoy on those rainy days. Rooms are large and include a stove, microwave, table with chairs and mini fridge. We had great game nights after long days of running around town. If you are looking for a romantic weekend I would probably go somewhere else but for family fun this is the perfect place to stay!

We booked the Rodeway Inn & Suites (formerly called the Shaman Inn & Suites) because there seemed to be no major hotel chains in the Long Beach, WA area and the website and price appealed to us. When we made the reservation, we specifically requested an «ocean view» room.
Upon arrival, check in was a breeze and the people working behind the counter were extremely friendly and very helpful in suggesting restaurants as well as attractions in the area and in Astoria, OR – our next stop.
The room was very simple, but clean, with little to no design upgrades. We had a wood-​burning fireplace, but because that required an open window and we were at the Shaman in March, we chose to forego that «luxury.» That was disappointment number one. The next came at the expense of our alleged ocean view… which turned out to be non-​existent. What we had was view of a large patch of naked trees, beyond which lay the ocean (we found out). I suppose it’s an ocean view if you’re Superman and have X-​ray Vision and can see through the trees.
Still, the motel was clean and comfortable and located centrally amidst Long Beach’s small main strip, with easy access to a grocery store, restaurants (we loved Dooger’s) and, most importantly, its beautiful beach. I would suggest it for those looking to spend a few days relaxing by the water without spending a fortune.
