In 2009, Scott Choppin, the founder and CEO, started S.K. Choppin Demolition to be a world-​class provider of demolition services, including residential, commercial, industrial, and pool demolition. We like to think of demolition as getting real estate set for its’ next life, be it backyard pool demolition, wrecking a house or a commercial building and the entire spectrum in between.

Business Owner

Scott Choppin is the Founder and CEO of S.K. Choppin Demolition and has been in the construction and demolition business since 1983, with his family in real estate and construction since 1960. Scott graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach where he swam and played water polo, then went on to graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. At Cal Poly, he received a degree in Business and Finance. Scott is a 3rd generation resident of the Belmont Shore area of Long Beach, CA where he and his wife of 21 years are raising their 3 kids.

Great communication and very reasonable price. I hired this company to have the swimming pool and a tea house demolished in the City of Arcadia. Once the contract was signed, the work was initiated promptly and all the work was finished on schedule with high quality. Scott was very responsive in replying emails, you will get his replies within minutes. He even moved up the start of my project by a few weeks when I told him there was an urgency. And his lead person, Andrew, already took care of the city permit on the first day of the contract. Everything went fast and smoothly afterwards, the entire process from estimate to city inspection was as good as it could get. I’d hire them again for any demolition work. Thank you.

Scott and his lead guy, Andrew, were great to work with. I just purchased a house and I needed the pool and our patio deck to be removed Scott gave me a great quote and finished the job as promised! They handled getting the permits and dealing with the city (which we all know can be a huge pain!). They even helped remove some concrete pieces that were lying all over the place in my backyard. They kept me updated and in the loop throughout the entire process. I highly recommend them. Very honest and hard working, which you don’t expect from contractors. For all the people that left bad reviews because he did not respond right away… the guy is busy, be patient!

We recently purchased a home that required a pool to be removed. One call to Choppin Demolition and we were set. We met with Scott Choppin and he communicated with us throughout the ENTIRE project. His project manager, Andrew, was terrific. Andrew and Jeremy had the pool out, area back-​filled and project completed ON TIME. They were very neat about a very messy and tough job. Scott and Andrew communicated with us every day and they left the house and surrounding areas neat and tidy. This is a great operation run by a guy that takes giving you «his word» very seriously. They handled everyrthing. Very nice job S.K. Choppin Demolition. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Not happy after they ripped up 50 year old Bonsai tree that my mother babied and trim all those years. They were contracted to fill in our old pool 50 plus years old. Our back yard was left in a mess. The people were nice and dealt with some of our issues but the final was disappointing.

Brian called later the same day I posted my initial review. Said he had been very busy with no time to get to the proposal. Seems I was not the only one waiting. Closed with an apology but recognized that the opportunity to bid was gone due to lack of reasonable response time. Can’t have faith in someone who can’t find two minutes to let you know what’s up.

I work as a project manager for a local contractor (JMC Concepts) that has used Choppin Demolition several times in the last month for demolition jobs. One was a simple pool fill and several small illegal structures, the other a full residential tear-​down. The projects both went smoothly and were completed on time and in budget. As subs they pull their own permits, handle their own paper work, and work efficiently, a true commodity in this industry. I am looking forward to a continuing business relationship with Choppin Demoliton Contractors.

I contacted Choppin Demolition on a Friday about two huge sheds I needed to have removed from the backyard. They were extremely responsive and Brian arrived at 8am Monday morning, as agreed, to look over the sheds and give a quote. To my pleasant surprise, the quote was significantly lower than other quotes I received and they were willing and ready to do the job that very same day. By 10am, again as promised, Brian, Andrew and Fidel were tearing down the ugly monstrosities known as sheds! I was amazed at not only how quick they got the job done (by 2pm) but the great price they gave us. They completed the job in just a few hours and hauled everything (their trash and honestly, a lot of ours — lots of xmas cardboard boxes that couldn’t fit in the trashcan) away– leaving the area clean and debris free. When I contacted them Friday, I would never have guessed that by Monday afternoon the job would be expertly done and with a few dollars still in my pocket!
