Hit the spot on this warm Saturday morning. Their birria wasn’t as expected but it was still very flavorful and meaty. It’s served more like a caldo and comes with a side of hand made tortillas and a small bowl of dried chilli paste. Tight little establishment on the side of the road. A small taste of Mexico in the heart of LBC. Will be coming back for their cochinita tacos.

Minus one star for ambience… BUT I didn’t come here for cloth napkins… the food has flavor. Been here a couple times tried tacos, birria, chilaquiles, and a few aguas. Not disappointed once. I don’t do birria but of course I have to taste it when it’s ordered. It was actually better than ive tasted, but was brothy. Today was my day for chilaquiles, this was the first time I had it where the flavor came solely from the sauce! They didn’t depend on the cheese to make it tasty! Mmmmm. We’ll definitely be back!

Great food. It’s a little spot in the corner, parking is bad, but it’s worth it. Please come try it!

While the food here isn’t bad, I think this place was just okay after my two visits to this shop. On the first trip, I saw her prepping a burrito by grabbing(what looked like already cooked) carne asada and tossing it onto the grill. Not necessarily a bad thing because hey, I wasn’t paying attention if she washed her hand before that. I ordered 4 tacos to go, so when I got my food, it was on a styrofoam tray that was cut in half and then covered in plastic wrap to protect the contents from spilling out. The reason for the concern was because the tray reminds me of the type that you’d get when you buy raw meats. I don’t remember the color of the tray(forgive me), but I let the idea slip past me because I was hungry, damn it! I actually really liked my tacos! I ordered 2 al pastor and 2 carnitas tacos and was thoroughly satisfied, which warranted my next trip. I came into the place the second time for breakfast because a greasy breakfast burrito is the best post-workout meal from what I assume scientists have concluded(sorry if I’m wrong). When I got the breakfast burrito, which was HUGE, the only thing I didn’t like was how soggy the damn thing was. After a while(or not even a while, really), the burrito became one big, greasy, flimsy tube of meat held together by my foil that just wasn’t fun to eat anymore. I probably had about 4 decently-sized bites before I noticed it being not so fun to eat, yet I trucked on and devoured the rest. I might come by again if I feel like clicking the«I’m Feeling Lucky!» button for lunch at this place, but I’ll probably stop at another place to see what else Long Beach has to offer.

I love just around the corner. I’ve been going here since I was 6. My dad and the owner are good friends. I love her and the food to death. Is so homey & fresh. She makes everything herself especially the tortillas.

wow just wow. fresh ingredients, felt like I was watching my mother make tortillas in the kitchen back home. It’s a cute little restaurant with only 3 barstools and most of the area is the kitchen. I got 2 huitlacoche quesadillas and they were awesome

Huitlacoche quesadilla was wonderful. Rich flavor, moreso than a normal mushroom, garlic onions with just the right amount of cheese. Red salsa on the side.

The best quesadilla I’ve had in the US. I had the huitlacoche and flor de calabaza quesadillas. The tortillas were just-made thick corn tortillas and had just the right amount of cheese. The huitlacoche was heavenly; earthy and simple yet rich

Meh. This place is ok… The food was mediocre. The service was terrible! Totally bad hosts.

I was suggested to go to this place by a friend who had told me to keep it low key, however he was as selfish as he gets and only gave me this location because I bought him lunch one day. anyways when I got to this spot off of the 405 near the hospital it literally was low-key a small restaurant that once you enter there is only room to order and a booth fitting three seats(however a big screen t.v. in front of you). I ordered just the simple carne asada burrito and was surprised to see how big it was. For $ 5 you get to choose a variety of Mexican dishes such as 4 tacos or burrito and a drink. The food was just delicious and with inviting customer service it made the trip even more special as it felt I found my first«spot«. The next few times I tried the special of the day and found my favorite authentic Mexican dish. their mole and chocinita was just too Bombay. They even have hotdogs and hamburgers that are taste way better than chain burger chains and a better home grilled burger. I have to admit that this place itself made me take action and share this place with any locals in the area.
