The UPS Store

I have dropped of several packages for work over the past several years. Always friendly staff, always welcome me, and let me know if the US guy has been there to pick yet. I like to call it my home office…

My family has had a mailbox here for years and use it mostly to receive packages and some mail. With all the package thieves around, we get almost all our packages delivered here. All employees have been helpful and friendly. Sometimes there is a wait because it can get busy or a customer has a complicated package but I don’t mind waiting because they always do a good job. With a baby coming we’ve had some big heavy packages delivered and they will help bring it out to your car if needed. I’ve had a package that needed to be sent to Germany and they explained all the prices and time frames. I’ve needed notary services and they’ve been helpful with that as well. Definitely will keep coming back to this store for years to come.

I stopped by here to drop off an amazon package. and I asled the dude if he could. print the label for me. he said yeah. I assumedhe was gonna just pirnt it for me ans be done with it. froma busineas stand. it makes sense for companies to makenit easy for people to use their services. so I figured that was cool and thought nothing of it. I emaild him the label, and printed it. plastered it on the box. and he tells me thst hes charging me.
I wa flabbergasted. dude! wtf?! had you told me yoy were gonna charge me for it I would have not done it…
I felt totally taken advantage of. I paid and I left. totally unhappy about that. I obviously did notnexpect to be charged and he didnt tell me about it untill after the fact.

The sign says that you open at 8AM, yet it’s 8:05, I’m going to be late for work and you’re still closed with no workers in sight. Taking my business elsewhere.

This one is easy. This place is awesome. Open on Sunday, they’re super nice, convenient and more importantly, not stingy with the tape. There are some bizarre stories told on Unilocal but every single experience I’ve had here (shipping stuff, returning stuff to retailers, picking stuff up) over the past few years has been pleasant and exactly what you expect.

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE A PACKAGE DELIVERED TO YOUR HOUSE THAT IS NOT YOURS!!!
This is going to be a long post. I suggest grabbing a drink to keep yourself cool whilst you read this post. It all started yesterday when I returned from vacation and noticed that there was a package on my front steps. I looked at the address and realized that it was the address was off by one number but that the person the parcel was suppose to deliver to lived on the same street. I didn’t want to drop it off and have the person file a claim and say they never received that packet and get another parcel. So I thought that it would be a good idea to just give it to UPS so they can straighten it out themselves. I placed it in the trunk of my car so I can dropped it off at the UPS near my work place on Palo Verdes. (THIS WAS A BAD IDEA). So at lunch my coworker and I decided to go there and explain the situation and drop off the package. I walked in and was greeted by someone. (I didn’t get his name and I frankly don’t even want to know his name.) I explained my situation and he looked at the package and said its been opened and looked at me and said so we can’t return this. (I might add he had a tone in his voice that irritated me, as if I was the one who opened the package, maybe because of my skin color, I don’t know but it just felt like he was a little judgmental, or maybe I was having an off morning.) So I told him that ok I never opened it. I just came back from vacation and saw the package on the porch. So since they were closed when I got home yesterday I thought it would be a good idea to just drop off this package so it can go to its rightful owner. Apparently, that was out of the question. He stated and I quote, «you can either take it and drop it off at their doorstep or it can go in the trash.» Are you kidding me? Is this how UPS handles its packages? And I addressed my surprise to his statement by saying, «so you cant send it back?» He replied, «Or you can pay to have it shipped to the house?»
So let me get this shit straight guy who works at the UPS store. This package that was on my door step, that I didn’t even open is either going to be delivered to the intended party by me, thrown in the trash, or I can pay to have it shipped to the intended party? ME? PAY TO HAVE IT F*CKEN SHIPPED TO THE INTENDED PARTY, WHILE IT WAS AN ERROR THAT ONE OF THE DRIVERS MADE. «So, there’s nothing you can do?» I say. «No» he replied its been open. Ok I didn’t open it I replied. Well its looks like there was tape here and now its not, he pointed to a brown spot on the package. SO THAT IS WEIRD”, he replies back. (May I add, my coworker has now walked out of the store shaking her head because of the things he are saying. He then puts tape on the box and I say «you know what I got it», and he says sorry, I can’t do anything about it (which was the only thing that came out of his mouth that made any lick of sense. And I left. My coworker and I were so upset that I wanted to speak to someone else from UPS. To see what they would say about the package. SO, I drove home, to LONG BEACH, on my LUNCH BREAK. I got there and my coworker says let me handle it. I walk in with my coworker and she tells the person behind the UPS counter about how we ended up with this package. And the first words out of the person’s mouth was, «OK, We will just send it back out to our drivers.» NO questions, no judgments, no having me drop it off myself, no TRASHCANS, and no paying to have it shipped. I then jumped in and told this woman behind the counter about the incident that happened at the other store and told her that he had put tape on it because it was «opened». She looked at the packaged and said there was no tape that had been removed but a stain that was on the box. A FUCKEN STAIN. She pointed out the stain on the front flap and turned it over and there was nothing there, no removal of tape like the other guy said there was or anything. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I told her that he put the tape on there and everything and she said even if there was, THERE WAS tape that had been removed UPS AND VERIZON HAVE A CONTRACT AND IT WOULD BE REPLACE IF ANYTHING WAS MISSING. She went on to say that the other person must of been «NEW» or didn’t know that. I found out her name, which was FELECIA, and being the idiot that I was I shouted out «BYE FELECIA as I walked out the store. I am telling you she was polite and addressed the situation with grace. I am not sure if the other guy was having an off day, or if that is how he is but I will never go back to that store. EVER. He just made me feel like the bad guy for bringing the package in. I’m not sure if it was his intention, but that is how I felt leaving that store after his service. So my advice if you were given a package by UPS that doesn’t belong to you and want to get it back to its rightful owner then go to the UPS store in LONG BEACH, ON Atlantic Ave. Their number is 5 629 816 245 and say hi to Felecia for me.

Worst UPS store ever. Came for notary services. Guy was at lunch. Fine. Came back at their request in about an hour. So to be understanding I waited an hour and a half. Came back. They said he was in the bathroom. After 15 minutes of waiting I asked again. They said he would be right out. I walked out a minute later.

I emailed and paid to have a document printed at this location Via the UPS website. When I arrived, the employee could see the document (1 page) on the screen but he was unable to print it. He blamed UPS and their website for the problem and said that they were independently owned and had nothing to do with the inability to print it. He was unhelpful and wanted to charge me additional money to email it directly to him.

I don’t write many negative reviews, but this one store was so disorganized it made me disappointed all over again while writing this.
I needed a 200+ page document printed for my company and found that the UPS store had the lowest price.
I ordered online, gave my credit card info, and went to pick it up when it was ready.
When I arrived, I was treated like I was bothering them and they tried to hand me a stack of 400+ pages (not even bound). I had stated I wanted it dual/​double sided on my order and obviously that it would have binding based on the selection I made.
One of the employees stated I didn’t request it to be bound and that would be an extra cost if I wanted that. He even had the nerve to show me a print out of my order that didn’t specifically have the word «binding» on it. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but looking back at the website later I discovered I was correct in assuming my order would be bound.
They reprinted the document dual sided and then told me I hadn’t paid yet. I told them I placed the order online and paid using my credit card to pay. They said there’s no record of that.
I pointed out in the order (that he put in my face), that there is a black cover I ordered (and paid for). The employees search high and low for five minutes before telling me they could only find clear covers. Being a little frustrated, I told them if they would be so literal about the words in the order then I’d like the black covers.
They told me they didn’t have it and to come back after the holidays. I completely understand the busy holiday so I didn’t come back for almost a month. I arrived and one employee (same guy as last time) acted like I was crazy when I told him the circumstances. Thankfully the other employee remembered me and found my documents. But guess what? They didn’t order the black covers at all.
I cut my loses and just took the clear ones and thanked one of the employees who at least made some kind of effort.
To be fair (why they’re getting 2 stars and not one) is because it was only the attitude of one employee (white guy in his late 40’s early 50’s with brown hair and a large belly sticking over his waist line) and not the other. Also, the product is well printed.
Thank you for the product, but clean up the employees and /​or hire more during the holidays because they can’t handle the work load.

I’ve come here half a dozen or more times over the past year or so, each time to return items that I’d ordered online and decided I didn’t want. Each time there was almost no wait and the service was genuinely courteous, friendly and helpful – I didn’t get the feeling I do sometimes at Chick-​Fil-​A where you feel it is fake and forced.
Seems like I came at the perfect time, around 1:30pm on a weekday afternoon, because there wasn’t a wait. Right after I arrived a couple small swarms of people entered, so I guess I’m good for business :-D
Prices for boxes, padded envelopes, etc., seem to be in line with what one could expect to pay at a post office, FedEx or other type of store focused on mailing/​shipping thing – not as low as you’d like but not leaving any worse off than anyplace else.
The shop is small dog friendly, which is a plus for me. I brought by my pooch on one of my visits and there wasn’t a raised eyebrow, disapproving look or anything negative said. I did carry him in and out with me though, to make sure he was well mannered and didn’t leave any surprises in the store, maybe that helped :)

Poor service. Takes too long. Didn’t attach document to email. Misspelled email. Smug employees

Go somewhere else for your services. This place is terrible. They are supposed to notify the customer by email when a package arrives. Alex blamed it on the computer stating that it was not their fault. I aksed to speak to the manager. The manager «isn’t in and won’t be in for two more days. When I called him a flunky, he hung up on me. They are all a bunch of flunkies here.

I came in on a Sunday for the notary service (yay for being open on Sundays, btw).
There were a few people in the store when I came in, so it took awhile for me to be helped. But, Armando (the lone employee) was very helpful, and tried to help everyone as efficiently as he could. They really should have 2 employees in here.
Notary services are $ 10 per signature, and credit cards are accepted.

While I would have given them about four stars in the last four years that I have been coming here, things have changed dramatically, seeming to coincide with the remodel. I need to have documents notarized about every two to three months. I called in a month ago on a Friday to make sure that they would have a notary there on Saturday and was told that there would be three of them. So I then stopped there in a major hurry and was told that there was no notary.
Came by today at 4:45 today for a notary. There was a line out the door. Not not not good. Three people behind the counter, but two of them consistently helping only one person instead of splitting up. And no notary. And by the time they told me that, I missed the 5:00 P.M. mail pickup.
That’s three strikes. You’re fired.
Now I go to the Postal Annex across the street next to Fresh and Easy, where they always have at least three notaries present. And then after that, I can go over to Fresh and Easy and flirt with the two checkers there. One of them is Fresh, and the other one is Eaaaaaaaaasy!

Great employees and great location. I’m always in and out of here with packages I need to have shipped. Quickly walk in and the workers, even if busy, will acknowledge me with my prepaid labeled package and tell me to just drop it off. They’ll tell me when the next pickup is and I’m out of there within a minute. Nearby my place and nearby the freeway, so it is convenient for me to stop by on my way somewhere or coming back. Great stuff! It’s so quick I forget to check in most times (not so great…).

after an unsuccessful stop at another fedex/​printing place I went over to The UPS store on Spring. Within two minutes I was in and out of there, my fax was sent with no problems. The guy was very helpful and it got done. I was at the other place (with help for a half hour and nothing was accomplished and they tried to tell me it was a problem on the receiving end). From now on I will go to the UPS store for my faxing and shipping needs
