Union Bank

The only worst place I could think of that sucks more than this place is maybe jail. And that’s a close maybe. Worst customer service to non-​customers ever, plus a $ 10 fee for cashing a check to boot. I had a corporate account here years ago when I started my company and pulled it. Thank you Union Bank for the nightmare I hoped I had forgotten. You guys and your regulations suck in the most major of ways!!!

This is a GREAT bank. The people that work here are very friendly, very professional, very efficient, and there is almost never any waiting (hooray!). Normally I HATE going to the bank /​post office /​dentist, etc., but for some reason I always have a positive experience when I drop by the branch in Naples. The fact that they have plenty of parking is a big plus. I have had to do some non-​standard banking over the years (international wire transfers both in and out) and they always handled it perfectly. I like going to a bank that takes its job seriously without taking itself too seriously, and I think that’s the mix that Union Bank has achieved — at least at this outstanding branch.

Came in to get a medalian stamp. My attorney called to find out what I should do. The bank officer told my attorney who passed the information on to me. I came into the bank but the person who handles these things was out to lunch and I was asked to return later. I did. The person who handles these things told me she couldn’t help me because the assistant was out to lunch. The assistant was needed so she could get the stamp out of the vault. I was asked to return later. I said I was already asked to return and that this was not the appropriate thing to do to one of their customers.
I read some other people’s reviews of this branch and Union Bank. I agree that customer service is lacking especially when banks charge so many expensive and frivolous fees. I’m ready to switch banks, but I hear the same about other banks as well. Too bad I couldn’t use my mattress.

This branch of Union is the best one I have been to. The people are very helpful, friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. It is never crowded and parking is easy.

My sister and I had a joint CD with union bank for over 5 yars. It’s been a nightmare dealing with this bank in general. At this particular location, the Union Bank Rep helping us was kind. His tone slightly changed when we requested to withdraw our entire funds.
The rep began mumbling things under his breath. He would talk to himself loudly enough for us to hear, about how he shouldn’t be handling our withdraw from another rep’s workstation. My sister and I are patient people, so we didn’t mind the very long wait and process that it took the bank.
During that wait, another customer became vocal and irate. Union bank declined to cash a union bank issued check for 3K. It also did not matter that the customer had an account with that bank location. They wouldn’t give her check back.
Also, I noticed the bullet holes on the glass windows while waiting. It freaked me out. They’re also in a prime location where they could get a lot of business, but they’re customer service seems to be horrible.

Way to go Union Bank. Thanks for sneaking in a new monthly checking account fee for the new year. Good job at adding obscure exceptions to the fee, with caveats of their own.
Wait, so I can avoid the fee by depositing a $ 100? Fine, no problem. Oh, but it has to be a direct deposit, and the lobby deposits I’ve already made in person don’t count, and my electronic transfers conveniently didn’t clear until the day after I was charged? Fuck you. Time for LBSF Credit Union.

it is close by. i give them a negative because they made errors on my account. 1. they took a bounced deposit out of my account TWICE. 2. They said i wouldn’t have a fee if i opened a safe deposit box. next statement? fee! They are a little over friendly. Customers get to the window and chat and chat and they just let them chat while the line behind them builds and builds.

This branch really has contempt for seniors. A year and a half ago, shortly before going on Social Security, I went to this branch to set up direct deposit. They basically told me to figure it out for myself. All I wanted was all the number needed, but they wouldn’t help me. As a result direct deposit was never set up with Union Back. Today, Union bank informs me that because I do not have direct deposit, that are going to charge me not $ 5 but $ 8/​month This, when they refuse to provide the basic service I want: direct deposit. I though B of A was bad until they hit me with this. For 2 cents, I just might picket this branch. Maybe I will even rename it «Scrouge Bank.»

A bank is a bank, is a bank. Due to government meddling, there’s not a whole lot of difference between the worst and the best. It’s just various degrees of bad. Bank of America used to be my personal demon. But now they have been elevated to so-​so status.
The people who staff the branches really make the differences and the folks at this Union Bank Naples branch on E Second Street are, clearly, very nice and accommodating. They work with me as best as the rules allow them to when I need something outside of thestandard cookie cutter.
Anywhere, not just at the bank, I find that you are treated pretty much the way you treat others. If you are rude and demeaning, you usually get the same in return. I learned from my Father-​in-​law years ago to say please and thank you and later on when I was in flight training I learned to call everone sir. When the captain of a 767 calls the guy who mucks out the lav Sir, he gets treated with much respect.
So lighten up sir, and turn that frown upside down.

This is going to be one helluva long rant. Today, I have run out of straws. I am getting a divorce from you UBOC and I’m leaving you for good. You might say it’s not your fault, it’s not the branches fault, but actually a large part of my reason for divorce IS due to the branch itself.
Our problems started in 2006. Why I didn’t get a separation and get it overwith then, I’ll never know.
Fast forward to today, February 2008. This time, there is $ 968 deposited into my account on Saturday and it is «missing» as of Wednesday. Meanwhile, while scheduled payments and checks are being overdrawn you, instead of immediately rectifying the situation and making me feel better, you are filing a «claim» which will take 10 to 20 days, while you investigate our deposited check.
It doesn’t matter that your rules state a check deposited on the weekend reflects on the account on TUESDAY. «It might not have made it to the processing center in time». Why, I ask? «Well, we talked to the branch and they said they probably emptied the ATM early.» How is that my problem?! YOU tell your customers weekend deposits go in on Tuesday, not «they might» or «may» go into the account.
Say goodbye to our 10 year «Union», I’m calling irreconcilable differences.
I’m getting hitched with Wescom and now it’s over for you and me.
I was tired of your Get Smart security doors anyway.
UPDATE: It’s 6 days later and our deposit is still MIA. Our account still has the $ 65 charge in returned service fees, on a check that the BANK LOST. I have been on the phone every day with Union and yet the charges remain. I don’t just want a divorce, I want the car, the house and the kids too!!!
UPDATE #2: This just gets funnier and funnier. I wish I could laugh. Union, you sent me a letter saying you’ve «completed your investigation» into our missing paycheck since a credit was processed in the amount of $ 968. You morons! That was a replacement check we had to get to cover our asses while our original paycheck is still missing. YOU are cancelling OUR investigation? What a complete joke. I told you to mark the account that we’d be getting a new check cut. ARGH! I’m so glad this divorce is almost over. Just a few more loose ends to tie up and we’re done!
