YEE: Yelpers Take Over Dark Harbor

Thank you Unilocal and Ryan, for the free parking, free admissions, AND free Fast Fright passes!
While I’ve been here numerous times at the Dark Harbor, this was the first time I had a Fast Fright line cutting pass. And I have been forever spoiled of cutting lines that were at least 30 min to an hour long. We finished all the mazes within 2 hours! The body strip search line was probably the longest line I was in.
All the mazes were very well done. Really enjoyed the 3 mazes on the ship itself. It did get a little bit warm and stuffy in there. The decorations, costumes, and the cast members were great, even though they were not able to scare me — I never get scared with these things.
The traffic to Queen Mary is still an issue though. I was stuck in traffic for almost an hour. They need to figure out how to get the traffic moving.
Quick shout out to Shanon Y, Kevin, Tracie L, Viet, and Ryan C for tagging along and making it a fun eerie night.

First off, getting into the parking lot was mayhem. I know Ryan said to get there by 8PM or else pick up your tickets at will-​call, but I got there at about 8:08 and he was still there to explain everything to us and give us tickets.
Unilocal got us free parking, free admission which was the upgraded «Fast Fright» access.
Although we had Fast Fright, it still took some time to get in, they had to pat everyone down and search bags. I’m cool with that as the crowds at these types of events tend to get pretty rowdy.
When we finally got inside, everything was a bit tame. The crowds weren’t terrible and everyone was pretty well behaved (the last time I went to a Halloween thing was at Knott’s Scary Farm years and years ago and the people were acting like animals). The lines to the mazes were pretty long, but with Fast Fright, we got into the mazes in 10 – 15 minutes max.
Some of the mazes were pretty well done, others were lame. The one in the dome was lame, but the ones in the Queen Mary itself were kind of cool. They played on the ghost stories that you read about online about the Queen Mary. The mazes were somewhat tight and small and you could anticipate where people were just waiting for you. Some followed you, others just tried to pop out at you and others were just there doing their thing.
Overall, the scare was only the «startle» or «surprise» you type scare and when you got acclimated to everything, things got a bit predictable.
The food was fair food, nothing memorable (although the bacon wrapped hot dog was one of the worst I’d ever had) and it was pricey. Some booths accepted credit cards and others were cash only.
The bathrooms were kinda whack since they were all porta-potty’s.
But, it was fun nevertheless and since we were treated so well and hooked up so well, who am I to complain? Would I have been pissed if I spent $ 100 to get Fast Fright for 2 people and pay for parking? A little. But the beauty about this event was that we could try everything without having to spend a dime (aside from food).

After having a great time at Monster Mash the night before, I was so excited to attend Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor with my babe, Rudy H.
Ryan suggested to arrive a little early to avoid the crowds. Parking would be free if you arrived between 6:00pm — 8:00pm. After 8:00pm the price for parking was $ 20.00. Luckily we made it on time to get free parking.
After we parked, we went to the Unilocal booth where I met Ryan C. for the first time. He is just as awesome in person. Thank you Ryan C. and the Unilocal team for making this terrifying yet unforgettable event amazing!
As soon as we got our Fright Fast wrist bands, we went inside and was approached by Big and scary Monsters, Evil clowns and Zombies. The cemetery and hearse ran chills down my spine.
Before going to the mazes, we stopped by the food fair area. Lots of options to choose from such as Shish Kabobs, Turkey legs, Ribs, Oversized Hot Dogs, Hamburgers & lots of fried foods. They also served beer, wine and alcohol.
It being opening night, Dark Harbor was packed. The Fright Fast wristbands ended up being lifesavers. With our wristbands our wait time was between 5 to 20 minutes. Without them the wait would have been 60 to 120 minutes. People standing in those long lines did not look too happy.

My favorite maze was Submerged. Story is a child drowned in the pool and her spirit comes out in the early morning singing and playing. It was a bit disturbing to see a child in a ghost costume walking back and fourth near the pool. I couldnt resist but stare into the pool to see if there would be any supernatural activity. Fortunantly I didnt see anything.
Deadrise was my least favorite maze. It was a sucken ship with angry ghost. Torwards the end of the maze, the person right in front of me decided to give a wet willey to a sailor ghost. The employee was stuck inside a jack in the box type of box, so he couldnt get out. How disgusting! If only I could have kicked that person out myself.
Overall, it was a great experience! We had soooooooooooooo much fun! Thanks again to Unilocal,Ryan C. and his team for kicking off Halloween month in such a fabulous way.

Well shiver me timbers and bend over for some barnacle removal… ohhh wait their aint no bloody pirates here… we are dealing with a creature much more fowl than that… its ghosties and other things that live in the knight we are en the lookout for here…
They are hidden in mazes, above tunnels, sneaking up next to you while you get a quick nibble to eat, heck if you are not careful, they will want you to make a backbend and crawl under you… I did see this and I think id rather have seen dead people, but not likely, since these seemed undead and much more interesting.
I was super excited to get into this event as I had never been and didn’t know exactly what it was. Well after having experienced this night of fun and pandemonium, I can definitely say that it truly KICKED ASS! Ryan came up with an awesome event for all of us elite slackers and a guest to attend.
Not only did we get comped parking, but we got free entry and a «Fast Pass»!!! OHHHHH YEAH BABY! Talk about pure awesomeness… Basically that means we got to cut the line for almost everything we wanted and we were able to do most of the mazes multiple times in the time it would have taken to just do a couple of the others.
Added to that was a great group of people and well, yeah this was an absolutely kick ass awesome outstanding treat to go with our trickery… woo woo…
I cant wait to do something like this again soon. Absolutely a delight to go.

My very first Queen Mary Dark Harbor experience!!!
I think I am slowly getting use to haunted mazes and parks thanks to JR, which is great because I don’t dread going to these events anymore. He still made sure I declawed my nails.
Finally got to show my coworkers the awesomness of Unilocal life! Thanks so much Ryan and they said thanks as well! I didn’t know this was a park! Totally thought it was one maze like the sSinister Point in oc.
PARKING: FREE thanks to Ryan. $ 20 for parking is mind boggling. JR made sure we showed up early to avoid the traffic to get in.
SECURITY CHECK: They were very thorough with looking through our stuff. I didnt know you’re not allowed to bring in pens.
MAZES: Really thankful we got the fast pass, I would go nuts waiting in line for over an hour just for one maze. Max wait with a fast pass was around 10minutes. We walked in several mazes without waiting when the park opened. By the end of the night, we saw a long line at every ticket booth inside because people wanted to upgrade from gen admin to fast pass.
— Voodoo maze! One of my favorite! Great set up and different kinds of creepiness in each room. Props to the realistic swamp set up (the swamp looked way better than the one at Knotts Scary).
— Circus: Also my favorite. The mirror maze they tricked us with in in the beginning was unexpected.
— Deep Sea (?) forgot the name: Located inside the ship. The pool was EXTRA creepy!!! I really love the monsters inside the maze. They knew how to scare us.
— Masquerade maze: Was pretty disappointing. I had high expectations for this one, especially because the line was long.
FOOD: They took credit cards. Food was pricey (fair food). But the serving size were generous and it tasted decent. I love how each food stand had a morbid theme down to their entre (ie tapeworm sandwich and baby meat). I got the chicken kabob, which was dry but ketchup did its trick.
NEVERLAND SWING: MICHAEL JACKSONs swing!!! I love MJ so this was really cool to see in person. Didn’t feel like paying $ 5 though.
GROUPS: I realized that small groups attracts more monsters and you get more surprises. Met up with more peeps end of the night and went through the maze as a group of 12 and it was not as scary.
Thanks again for this memorable experience!!! Really glad we showed up early and got to chat with Ryan for a lil bit. 5 hours in there went by so quickly.

Thank you Ryan C for getting us awesome tickets!!! The freight pass was such a life savor. Who would want to wait in line on the first night where approximately 10,000 tickets were sold?
Things you need to know about the Dark Harbor
1. Definitely not a place to bring your kids under 13! It can get pretty creepy… not that I screamed or anything.
2. Wear comfy shoes. Preferably closed toe. There’s sometimes steps or a slight raise in the ground. I broke a toenail :(
3. Food gets a little expensive. It’s fair food. Eat before coming or be prepared to spend an arm… maybe a leg.
4. Freight pass definitely worth the splurge.
5. Fun fact: The maze towards the bow of the ship passes you by a haunted pool where a young child died.
6. Fun fact: The maze in the middle of the ship is the creepiest.
7. It gets HOT. Forget the jackets, you won’t need it.
9. Be prepared to wait on the 710 ramp to get through to the exit… we waited about 45 minutes!
10. The Freak Show costs $ 5.
11. I just realized this is my 500^th review!!!
Did I miss anything? Have fun, don’t freak out, and it’ll be tons of fun!

First OC YEE event and first time at Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor! This event successfully kick started us into the October Halloween mood. Thank you Ryan C. for organizing this entire event. The free parking and free fright passes made the whole experience very VIP-​like. Tony L. and I had a very enjoyable time skipping the lines and exploring the venue.
The mazes are definitely not as scary as Universal Horror Night’s, since I was able to have my eyes open inside majority of them. It was the right amount of scares where I was able to get scared while still being able to observe and appreciate the effort put into the mazes. The costumed actors were less aggressive than at other horror themed events. I was less paranoid walking around the event grounds, although we did get a few scares from those ground scraping monsters that popped up from no where.
With the fright passes, we were able to get done with six of the mazes in under two hours. The only one where I had my eyes open the entire time was Dead Rise. It was so hot that I was too distracted to get scared. The more memorable and scary one was Submerged. The pool and the hallway at the beginning of the maze created a very haunting atmosphere. It was like a set for horror movies.
While there were port o potties everywhere, I refused to use them and was able to stumble across one inside the ship at the end of the Soulmate maze. It was much cleaner but the wait was long. There were also some outside the entrance of B340 and Submerged. Anything is better than those disgusting port o potties!
We had an amazing Unilocal experience mainly because of those fright passes. It wouldn’t have been the same without them. There were times when I felt bad for those who had to wait hours in line for the mazes.

5 Stars — Fun and fun, scary mazes except for one, porto-​potties, high prices food, lots of walking, things to see, magic show.

Getting Scared = 5.1234 Stars — Majority of the mazes were very scary
Food = 2.69 stars my twinkie was good but some of the food looked dry or pre-​heated.
Fun level = 5.2 stars
Deadrise– Monsters here seemed most enthusiastic and scary, especially early in the evening
Encounters — we had to pay to get in so we passed
Circus — This had great scenery and a few monsters that were very charismatic
All the mazes on the boat had a nice blend of décor and terror, I will not spoil all the surprises
–Free Parking — 5 Stars — parking was a breeze for us
–Free Fast track ticket — 1000 stars — Unilocal CM Ryan gave us the fast track passes that allowed us to go through entrance in 20 minutes, while regular admission waited 1 – 3 hours. We also got through maze lines quickly, 5 – 15 minutes intead of 30-…who knows when.
Magic show, wow, dude was on a bed of long nails and I stepped on him (keep in mind I am 270 pounds). How did he do it, Bravo 5 stars!

Haunted events are the BEST! And Dark Harbor is definitely one of my favorites!
Here’s just a few of the reasons why:
— The ship is actually haunted, giving this event a huge leg up on legitimacy versus any other!
— The zombie actors really take it up several notches! They’re awesome!
— The maze sets are super detailed and believable! So much to look at. It’s like being in a horror movie that’s real!
Thanks to Ryan C and Unilocal,a select group of lucky Unilocal Elites and their plus one’s scored COMPED admission, Fast Fright (front of the line wristbands), and even FREE parking (normally $ 20!) on the busiest night of the year! This was my 3^rd time enjoying this amazing event. I had a blast with my group of a dozen of the coolest Unilocal buddies, and even ran into some more later in the night! Unilocalers truly took over!
Highly recommended!
TIP: Get the Fast Fright wristband! It’s the best investment ever!

OMG!!! Where to start?! Parking was easy… it was the wait to get into the lot that was a hassle… took me 45min!!! Anyways, thanks to our Unilocal elite stats we scored free parking!!! Doesn’t get better than that!!! Already the night is good.
Food was expensive but I expected that, like the OC fair, of course it would be! I had 3 tacos for $ 8.25 I believe plus $ 4 water. My friend bought me some pizza and it was goooooood!
Upon entering the event, we had our picture taken and at the very end we ended up not buying them… cuz I didn’t look so good, ha! But they were $ 19.99 so not too bad.
Ryan, oh man, that dude is heaven sent! I swear he is! I love that man with all my heart and I’d do anything for him! Ok, ok… I know I am bit dramatic. Regardless, Ryan is an awesome dude that works hard for us Unilocalers and he loves his job. He went all out for us. Scored us free parking, free passes plus the front of the line upgrade! That couldn’t have been easy so he must really love us to put in all that hard for us. Well we love you too, Ryan!
My friends and I did all 6 mazes and we met other Unilocalers and made some awesome new friends! My friends got to learn about Unilocal and who are and what we are about.
All the mazes were fun not scary but fun. I think my favorite was Soulmate only because I kept making fun of my boyfriend about how I wanted to walk around with his head too! He didn’t like my joke.
When we got out of Submerged, a creepy clown walked by and grabbed my right boob really hard… this was not ok… and my boyfriend chased him down to tell him to be careful about touching private part… the creepy clown apologized and we went our separate ways. All of the costumes and make up were top notch. Everyone at the Dark Harbor worked very hard to be the best in the business.
Theme park horror nights are different mainly because they have rides that we can enjoy while also doing mazes. I did love Dark Harbor and I can’t wait for next year!!! Boy oh boy this was definitely the best way to start off the Halloween season!!!

After my experience last night, I would highly recommend Queen Mary Dark Harbor over Knott’s Scary any day! My man and I both agree that the Fast Past is completely worth it. So anyone decide on attending this event def get your fast past.
Beat the Long 2hr wait and have the scare of life time! I think what made the experience more scary than others is the fact that its on an actual ship that is known to be haunted. On top of that they really make you feel like your in your own scary movie. Def. can get into your head, but totally worth it!
The make up on these scarers are def a lot more scarier than knott’s, I most def would come back next year and have it as a group experience with my friends!

We were fortunate enough to be plus 1’s for this event and let me tell you, it was one of the best times we have had in a while!
Getting there on a Friday night was the only downfall due to traffic but once we entered it was a blast.
Unilocal was generous enough to get us on the comp list for free parking, the not so fortunate had to pay $ 20/​$ 25 bucks. Once we got in it was very organized :-) got to meet the famous and amazing Ryan C. And he graciously gave us our tickets which included «Fast Fright» passes so we could bypass the 2 hour waits! This is definitely the way to do it.
We were able to hit up every maze and still had time to eat and drink and have a great time! Find us having a beer and eating fried Oreos and fried twinkies! *oink oink*
My favorite mazes were B340 (on the ship) and Circus! Although all the mazes were awesome as well.
We also met some of the nicest Unilocal Elites and hung out with them for most of the night. Thanks Aaron L. For letting us hang with the group — you are the best!
Overall, such a great experience. :-)

I thought that getting here on a Friday would be terrible due to traffic, but it honestly wasn’t that bad. Probably because I left work a bit earlier, and ended up getting to Queen Mary at around 5:30.
Unilocal was so awesome to get us in for free, but what was even better was that we also got front of the line passes! My boyfriend and I got in right at 7, and we were out by 9. We didn’t even have to wait hours in the long lines for the mazes.
Also, we got free parking, so that saved me $ 20 right there. Thank you, thank you, Unilocal!
The event was super organized, even from when we got the first email, to the reminder email, to the event itself. Yay Unilocal

We were given an awesome opportunity to go to Dark Harbor for free, and with front of the line passes and comped parking to boot. How does it get any better than that?
This was my first time at Queen Mary’s Halloween event, but I’ve been to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal, Knott’s Scary Farm, and other random maze-​type events. I thought the makeup was cool, but in comparison to the big theme parks, the roaming monsters weren’t putting in that much effort into actually scaring people. And that’s saying something, because I get scared super easily! Some of them just tried to walk next to me while breathing heavily… sorry bro, not going to work. I did enjoy the show that the sliding monsters put on; we got to see them play limbo and do tricks.
The mazes themselves had varied levels of success with immersing me in their story lines.
* B340: I liked being «birthed» through those inflatable walls and going through this guy’s life and seeing his downward spiral into insanity. Really cool concept.
* Soulmate: Not very scary and I thought the rooms didn’t really go together, but still a fun maze.
* Voodoo Village: My favorite! There was a room of severed heads, and whenever the guy in front of me pushed one out of the way, it would hit me in the face… erugh so gross. The props were really well done, especially the swamp area at the end. Lots of jumpscares too.
* Deadrise: Undead sailors galore! Very heavy on the fog machine, and props to the monster who took advantage of that near the end and scared me by popping up from under the fog T_​T.
* Circus: I was really looking forward to this one (because AHS: Freakshow is about to come out!), but it kind of fell flat for me. The very beginning with the mirrors was cool though.
* Submerged: I like how they really took advantage of the ship, but there weren’t that many scares. My friend said that two years ago it was better.
I might have gotten spooked in the mazes, but the GA lines were the most horrifying part of the event. Given the quality of the mazes, waiting for an hour and a half for any of them would have been a huge letdown for me. Having a Fast Fright pass is definitely a must! So thank you Ryan C. and Unilocal for hooking it up and getting my Halloween month off to a good start!

AAAHHHHHHH! Such a spooktacular night! So many monsters on the loose! The trick is to act cool when they come up to you (what I did, even though I was dying inside). However, my plus one was a scaredy-​cat so the monsters were all up on her! HA!
Parking was a pain. I came at 7PM (considered early) waited for 20mins and was slowly directed where to park. Of course going to a Unilocal event, Unilocal was generous enough to give free parking :) $ 20/​$ 25 for other guests going to Queen Mary.
Walked in and saw the red Unilocal table and got my tickets from the wonderful Ryan C. Check-​in and getting the tickets was fast and organized process. My plus one and I were given fast passes which made our night very fun and enjoyable. Because of the fast passes we were able to cut a lot of long lines!!! I recommend getting the fast pass because well, waiting in line is annoying overall.
They sell alcohol here which is great for people who likes to go through the mazes drunk! $ 9/​drink kind of pricey for a very small cup, but expected at event places like this. I had their hotdog and cheeseburger as well. I liked the cheeseburger better! They also have Italian ice cream, funnel cake, and churros!
Most of the restrooms are porta potties. They do have real restrooms but only 1 or 2 locations. The line for those are about 20−30mins!
I wish the mazes on the ship had better ventilation. It was hot and stuffy inside!
They have great mazes. Honestly, I couldn’t even open my eyes when I walked the first maze because I was scared as hell! After awhile, I got desensitized and by the end of my last maze (walked about 8 mazes) I was able to walk by myself :)
Overall, this was a great Unilocal event! Halloween is my favorite holiday and thank you Ryan C for a memorable year! :)

Free parking + free front of the line passes + free entry into Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor, couldn’t have asked for more. In the e-​mail, it said parking was free 6−8pm so we were frazzled when we got stuck in the parking traffic around 7:30pm. Luckily though, they were able to extend the free parking past 8pm so it saved us $ 20!
It was the first night of Dark Harbor opening and the lines were absolutely HORRENDOUS. We were able to conquer all 7 mazes by 11pm so the front of the line pass helps A LOT. Submerged was my favorite because of the eerie feeling when seeing the haunted pool in the haunted Queen Mary! There were additional mazes, but you have to pay for those. They have lots of food that smelt really good, but basically they were like OC Fair food and pricing.
Maybe I’ve become desensitized to scary things now, but I remember Dark Harbor being more scary when I went 6 years ago. Hooray for not losing my voice the next day. Not as many pop outs as I was expecting, but still the props and everything were good. Although I do admit that it gets creepy when the monsters follow you really close and say stuff in your ear LOL.
They also had the ride from MJ’s Neverland which was really cool. I highly recommend getting the fast pass because it cuts the 2 – 3 hour wait lines. Also, if you’re looking for restrooms they DO have regular restrooms inside near the ship entrance where the B340 maze is, but wait might be long. Unfortunately for me, when we first arrived to pick up the tix I needed to use the restroom badly so I went in the port o potties outside. It was the most terrifying experience ever lol :(Well actually, they weren’t as bad as EDC’s in Vegas, but still if I knew there were restrooms inside I would’ve waited.

Unilocal led the frightening way to an unforgettable night — first freight passes; fantastical planning; & a friendly welcoming to Unilocal’s Elite. Thank you, Ryan C., for offering an unforgettable authenticating frightening experience.
Dark Harbor brings the real haunted history of The Queen Mary to life. The new mazes take guests through never before visited areas of the ship.
The Soulmate maze is new and is the haunted spirit of the frightful Graceful Gale. She is not as graceful as she appeared but more monstrous. The story of Gale unravels as her true spirit is revealed. She haunts The Queen Mary in order to lure suitors into her possession. Once she captures the hearts of these men, she will have her adoring minions cut them up and reassemble them, trying to create for Gale the «perfect man.» That’s spooky.
Also on a 1948 Atlantic voyage, third-​class Queen Mary passenger Samuel was locked away in room B340 after a violent outburst. After hours of isolation, the crew found Samuel in his room, violently ripped apart. Murdered or self-​induced suicide, no one knows? B340 is a new maze through Samuel the Savage’s schizophrenic journey.
However, SUBMERGED remains my favorite. Scary Mary, the youngest Queen Mary spirit is looking for mortal souls to be her eternal playmate on the other side, while the ship is sinking (great water effects). Scream Mary, is right.
Unilocal afforded easy access to all six mazes, and each area of Dark Harbor and its’s terrifying spirits. Ryan C. is the new Captain reclaiming the ship as Unilocalers took over.

A couple years back when I went through the maze Submerged, one of the «ghosts» followed me OUT of the maze whispering into my ear, «You didn’t think I could walk out here did you?» and then continued to creep behind me as I walked away from the exit. I think I might have cried a little. The maze was a fantasy; outside is reality. That «ghost» messed with my head when she crossed that line.
Inside the maze, however, my mind is open, almost curious to what horrors await. Submerged was my first stop at Dark Harbor this year, and I did not cry. Well, okay, I might have screamed a few times. Narrow spaces, theatrical lighting, on-​point costumes– this maze still provides the Best Scare for me.
Circus was a whimsical mirror fun-​house that takes a sharp turn into darkness. Surprisingly, the stark contrast works well thematically, earning my Best Theme award.
Soulmate, new this year, was produced with elegant costumes and a beautiful heroine/​villain preparing for a masquerade. I expected a story about forlorn lovers, but the tale that unfolded was much darker. This wins my Best Costume Award as well as Best Storyline Award.
Also premiering this year, Voodoo Village wasn’t much of a scare but does deserve Best Set for nicely lit voodoo altars that appear more evil as you progress through the maze.
Finally, the Best Organizer Award goes to Unilocal’s CM Ryan C. and team, who made sure that Unilocal Elites had a first class experience on this ship. The tickets we received were Fast Fright, worth several times more than General Admission, allowing us to get in separate lines that were many times shorter. Having experienced both, I can see why the VIP tickets are well-​worth their money.
On a side note, food and alcohol were plentiful. One Goose & OJ and I went from screaming my head off to bantering with the «monsters», complimenting them on their fashion sense and so forth. So that’s what they call liquid courage. A couple more drinks though and I think I would have gone straight back to crying.

Just got out of Soulmate. It’s so cool to be able to be inside the ship. I didn’t get on ship last year due to the lines so it was cool with the fast passes. The wait for Soulmate was about 20 minutes which is manageable. Overall, Soulmate was definitely one of my favorite mazes — I think they did a great job with the design, props, the cast members — everything. The «ballroom» room reminded me of the ballroom scene at Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion — it was a nice touch. The Cast was a lot more engaging than usual — what could be an opportunity for improvement is limiting the amount of people going through the maze at a time. Or forcing groups to allow some spacing up in front of them — since it was easy to spot where a «monster» might be hiding based on the reactions of the people in front of you.
B340 was also a fun maze as well — it was the other maze that went into the ship. Again, the props were well thought out and you can tell there was a lot of time and work poured into it. Honestly, as a fan of the Queen Mary itself and its rich naval history (and its darker supernatural history) — all the mazes that went into the ship I’m a fan of.
Food choices were limited and pricey but expected for the event. Had gelato (italian ice cream) at the stand right outside of Soulmate — which was yummy and the higher prices made sense (although it wasn’t that much more costly than other places outside the event).
The kebab places were yummy. Honestly, I was intrigued by the huge grills that were churning out these yummy looking kebabs every few minutes. At almost $ 14 a stick, it’s easily the most priciest food item at the event, but compared to the other food options (hot dog, fried oreos, polish sausage) — it definitely gives you a bit more variety.
*NOTE* — All eateries are cash only. They do not accept credit cards. There are ATMs scattered throughout the event, but these carry a hefty convenience charge (does not include whatever your bank/​CU charges for using a out-​of-​network ATM) — so grab enough cash to bring to the event to avoid paying the ATM fees.
Parking was more manageable this time around — my friend and I got past the bridge and was on the cruise terminal road by 7pm. We were in line for about 20 minutes before being able to park.
Security screeners were friendly — word to the wise — check out their FAQ page to find out what you CANNOT bring into the event. The list of restrictions are more strict than TSA/​what you can bring on an airplane. I watched as one guy was forced to toss out two pens (PENS — as in writing instruments) — otherwise he would not get let in.
Thanks to Ryan, Unilocal and the crew at Queen Mary Dark Harbor for making this year’s experience MUCH better than my experience in 2013!

What an amazing event to attend! Thank you so much for the effort put in for all us Unilocalers! The parking was easy and fast. They gave us no problems coming in and we were able to find good parking. Getting there around 6:15 worked out great because the lines were less to get in and also on the mazes.
With the front of the line passes… man did I love that! !! We by passed tons of time we would have spent waiting and getting straight to the front. Sometimes we didn’t even have to wait. I took my cousin and she loved it there and loved all the Unilocal perks.
The mazes were awesome and scary! Some more than others but I loved it. The monsters walking around would be scary but nice because they were always kind enough to take a picture with us if we asked. They had tons of food areas to eat just like a fair has.
