I LOVE THIS PLACE. If I had more time in the day… I would go to every class. The studio is so welcoming and laid-​back; it feels like a second home. I usually go to Dharma (owner) or Theresa’s 6pm class and weekend classes due to my work schedule but you can’t go wrong with anyone that teaches here. The teachers will cater to all levels; they genuinely care about you. If you’re looking for a «leave your ego at the door» yoga studio… this is the real deal. Only love here. Plus… Veda Spices has the BEST food in the lobby area ($ 5 for a meal & tea).
Sometimes when I’m running late for the 6pm studio class and it’s around 6:10… I’ll head over to Yoga on the Bluff which is run by Dharma also. Those classes are just as amazing and you can sneak onto the bluff late. Just depends on if you’d like to be outside/​inside. Summer bluff schedule: 11am & 6pm Weekdays, 11am Weekends

Wow, what a great yoga studio!
I’d been searching for a studio since I moved here a month ago and was beginning to wonder if I could match the excellence I was accustomed to in the Bay Area. I took Dharma’s class first and it was a fabulous experience – I actually left the studio with way more energy than when I arrived. I went back the next day and took a class led by Leo, and again, a great experience.
Beautiful vibe and friendly people. Wholeheartedly recommended!

I searched for yoga and Ayurveda and seems I’ve found the perfect spot. The moment we walked in the door Nicole was very welcoming, sweetly helpful and invited us to relax in the clean and tidy check in area. Our first class was taught by Marissa who is attending the Certification Program lead by Dharma. Marissa held such sacred space and even tho it was an intimate class really assisted my practice with a gentle calm demeanor. She was very knowledgeable about the practice and opened with a Wayne Dyer quote, whom I adore. Her speaking voice had a great rhythm to her transitions between asanas and what a fun playlist to match. During shavasana her voice remained soothing and her meditation after was genuinely spirited. I’m looking forward to many more classes.

This studio is a blessing to the community. Their mission of donation based classes and free yoga on the bluffs helps to attract spiritually evolved instructors who present yoga as so much more than a physical practice.

This is an amazing place, serves the community, they teach safely, competently, and to all levels. I’m so grateful to live near this very progressive community supported studio!

My husband and I have been going to this studio for years. They have fun events designed to enlighten and the classes are taught by only the best yoga teachers. I highly recommend Dharma’s!

Best place on Earth!
I’ve been coming to Yogalution Movement since August 2014. There is always something going on, whether it’s Yoga, Belly dancing, Yoga Trance Dance, Yoga & Art, or a special Guest Speaker Event.
Everyone is down to earth and really care about being of service to one another. If you are truly looking to get connected to yourself on a deeper level then I recommend this studio. They focus on the breath and how to use it to bath your body.
This is definitely know to the locals of Long Beach as one of the best Yoga Studios. Everybody knows who Dharma Shakti is.

I love this place. Going to these classes has solved all my back, shoulder and hip aches. When I stop practicing, the aches come back. My favorite class is Marlene’s Sunday morning class, I wish she taught more classes! Dharma’s Tuesday and Thursday classes are pretty packed so I avoid those. Also, check out the Stretch out the Stress class, every time I go I feel like I just gave myself a full body massage.
The instructors are relaxed and chill regarding the practice. It feels natural and not corporate like all of those other places. Since it’s donation based I don’t have to pay 100 $/​month and worry that I’m getting my money’s worth. I just go when I want to, pay 8 – 10 bucks and all’s good.
BUT BEWARE BIKE RIDERS. I have heard of at least four bikes being stolen right outside. I live about a 10 minute walk away but I will never leave my bike there. Maybe a U-​Bar will help but Just beware.

I started practicing yoga a year and half ago with a lot of skepticism in my heart because I didn’t believe in myself that I could do it. I finally gathered enough courage to join the free yoga on the bluff but I felt I needed more of a challenge so I started going to their studio on Broadway. The instructors I’ve had so far have really help me find the peace I am seeking for. It’s been an incredible journey and I don’t want it to end. I thank you from my enlightened heart! I love yoga so much, I hope when you go you will feel the same. Namaste!

I’m not sure about Unilocal as a forum in general. It seems I am able to post something relatively anonymously in a public forum with out having to validate my opinion? That all sounds a bit sketchy to me but anyway here goes…
As you know, yoga is not everyones activity of choice. With in yoga, there are multiple different genre’s and expectations and so it’s not a one size fits all…
Having said that Dharma Shakti is a truly special leader in our Long Beach community and yoga on the bluff is beautifully Long Beach for it’s inclusion of all-​comers. Dharma holds us in poses just longer than we want to be in them, challenges us physically, mentally and spiritually with out preaching, and never makes people feel inadequate whatever their limitations. As a yoga instructor, no-​one is going to please everyone, but our community is really fortunate to have Dharma amongst us. Thank you. Namaste.
