NJ Transit Long Branch Train Station

lol why is this even on Unilocal… it’s the only train station in the area. you can’t change the routes times or anything.
to see scheduled. goes to ny 1 time an hour. never took it south. parking prices suck but it is what it is and its free parking on weekends. personally i just park on a side street and walk… but it isn’t in the best neighborhood. they should really make the train 24 hours since clubs in nyc close after 2 lol… but it gets to a night out without a DUI and after the food you can catch the 5am train. and it gets to newark airport for an affordable price

Really, what is there to say? There’s ample parking. Its a train station. Been here forever. Dunkin’ Donuts and Subway across the street. That’s about it.

Rode the train to asbury park from linden for the Bamboozle Music Festival. The transfer was at this station and there were HUNDREDS of people transferring. It w as a smooth and easy transfer with lots of NJ transit ppl there to help.

What this station needs is a sign so that passengers know which train is going back to NY and which train is going down to Bay Head. Your connecting train is usually waiting for you, but occasionally they don’t line up, causing you to have to wait outside for a bit.
One time waiting for the last train of the night I got left here because the conductor just blew through and didn’t see three of us coming there from the Bay Head train. I suppose they don’t always have passengers at around midnight, but they should at least open the doors just in case, since this is the transfer point from another train. Rare lack of communication on their part. However, the driver of the Bay Head train was still there (fortunately) and he phoned up the dispatcher who was able to give the instruction to reverse the train and come pick us up about 20 minutes later.
3 stars for a relatively quick and easy way to get up and down the coast during rush hour. The express train is marvelous if you can get on it. Would be 5 stars if the transfer were seamless or any more reliable on the off peak periods.
A very small enclosed shelter exists with a ticket window, and there are also ticket machines in there. Big advantage is Dunkin Donuts and Subway across the street, although the transfer time between trains never allows for a food stop unless you can afford to wait for the next train. Location is rather convenient to Monmouth area and downtown Long Branch.

Parking for this station is ocated between Third Ave & Morris Ave. The lot is managed by Park America, and their phone number is (800) 523‑1026. There are 331 standard spaces, and 8 accessible spaces. No overnight parking is allowed, Parking on the weekends is free. Rates are $ 3 per day.
At the station, bike racks and lockers are available. There are two (2) ticket vending machines on the platform. Bus passes also sold here.
NJ Transit allows two children ages 5 – 11 to ride free with a passenger
paying any valid fare from 7pm Friday (or day before a holiday) to 6am Monday (or day after a holiday).
During the summer months (through September 11), hourly service departs Bay Head from 7:21 a.m. until 9:21 p.m. and Long Branch from 8:46 a.m. until 10:46 p.m.
This station is served by NJ Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line.
