This 7-Eleven makes me nervous when I go here. There’s always someone looming around inside that has no business being by there. I don’t like giving my change away while I’m grabbing food, gross. But the location is great near 2 major roads. And a quick walk from my barber, I usually grab a slurpee after my cut

This sevs boasts both gas AND the type of staff who utter words like ‘take your time’ when others are on line.

The owner is very rude and disrespectful. Everything is overpriced. Plus I noticed a few items that are spoiled and rotten. Even many of their drinks are post-dated and they are still trying to sell them. The owner got pissed off because I showed him items that were out of date and he flipped out on me, which chain-reacted a REALLYBAD argument. I’m calling 3−1−1.

Suddenly, the neighborhood is filled with new 7-Elevens. This one is a bit on the crowded side compared to the others, but it’s clean and convenient. The coffee selection is pretty decent. The problem is that the place smells like burnt plastic. All the time. The smell is so strong, and so toxic, that I get a headache just being in there a few minutes. It’s really bad enough that I wonder about the health of the people who work there.

Every time I approach this place, somebody hanging out in front of it smells like weed. Greedy bastards. They have a few aisles full of candies, baked goods and other goodies that will feel your needs. The other day they even had a pizza sale: $ 1/slice. I didn’t partake because the pizza didn’t look too good but I’m sure had I been drunk, the pizza would’ve tasted delicious. If you are bored, they even have some DVDs for sale. I guess if you’re under the influence, some of these movies might seem remotely hysterical. On the bright side, the line moves quickly so you can be on your way promptly.

What was once hell is now heaven. This location was once home to a disgusting convenience store and shady gas station. Now, it’s a sleek Shell station and, more importantly, a brand new and beautiful 7-Eleven. The green, orange and white awning is blindingly bright and can be seen from a few blocks away. The store itself is spotless, the service is quite good(it’s Astoria after all) and the Slurpees and sandwiches are, as expected, super delicious. Sure, it’s kind of an odd location, but it’s perfect for Northern Boulevard drivers who need gas and R train commuters entering/exiting the 36th Street stop. It’s time to start a movement: Less bodegas, more 7-Elevens!
