One of the best surprises found in LIC by the waterfront which has gorgeous views and a chill atmosphere. I met a couple of friends here for the first time and believe it or not I would have never found this place without them. Its a great casual place just to hang out and have drinks and eat with great views of the Manhattan skyline(even to watch the sunset). There is a great mix people and personalities and its really nice, this space can accommodate groups. They have a food stand that serves burgers sausages, etc, plus a bar that keeps the drinks flowing. It’s not really easy to get to without a car or bike.

Shhh… Don’t tell people about this gem. Outdoor booze in the sun, food from the grill, tasty and reasonably priced. Friendly bar tenders. Only 4 stars because it’s cash only(they have an atm) and the grill items are a little pricey($ 10 for a chorizo).

Outdoor dive bar with fantastic views of Manhattan. OK drinks and beers. Had to stand on a Fri. night since a private event took up half the seating. We did not try any food.

I was told about this place & finally ended up stopping by this past week. Great open space, plenty of tables to sit & relax very laid back vibe goes well with the nice mix of music they play. Once settled we decided to stick to beer can’t go wrong with Stella on tap. While seating down enjoying our drinks I noticed a few people had their doggies w then how cool is this? Didn’t know u can do this. What a cool concept that u can bring your pet along to enjoy a nice night out love this nice concept & something u really don’t see. Good service at the bar & decent prices for the beer. I noticed they serve food as well didn’t try any this time maybe the next. Great open space, lovely city views I don’t see how u can beat this my only complain is that I didn’t know about this place sooner.

A little gemstone in the rough! After having an unromantic dinner at Water’s Edge, we decided(as we were leaving WE) to have a nightcap at what appeared to be a boat basin or pier of some sort. Much to our surprise and delight we found this not so little gem with picnic tables and umbrellas and breathtaking views of the city. We sat at a shared table, ordered a drink and had a blast! Guess we found a new«go to» spot to take ore friends who ‘know’ everything about NY!

I love this HIDDEN(literally) gem! Anable Bar & Grill is an outdoors venue with picnic tables along a fence that separates ground from water. It appears to be a backyard behind a warehouse. Everyone orders at the Bar and you are given a receipt to take over to the Grill(few steps away). A gentleman will remind you of your order number and point at the digital display of the current order. On a Saturday night, this place was pretty crowded but there were empty seats deeper inside and around the corner of the building. Food — check(Bison Burger was yums, so was Chorizo sausage, ~$ 10 – 15 each) Drinks — check(bottled & draft & cocktails) Music — check View — double check!(NYC manhattan skyline + Roosevelt Island) — simply GORGEOUS Crowd — very diverse and chill(even kids here!) — GREAT vibe! Bathroom — errr… inside building with long line outside

This place is everything you could want from a summer evening in New York: Cold drinks? Check. Dogs and burgers straight off the grill? Check. Scrumptiously sweet corn on the cob? Check. Waterfront al fresco dining with stunning views of Manhattan’s skyline? Check. Live music(accordion included)? Check.

The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because of the spectacular view & the cool concept on how the place is set up. Came here on a Sunday night with my boyfriend & a friend. This was our first time here & our expectations were high since there were such great reviews on Unilocal.I got a cheese burger that ended up being just a frozen premade beef patty you can get at a supermarket for indoor bbqs which was incredibly unsatisfying & their margarita was wayyy too sour. I could’ve gotten over all of that if the person you go up to, to order, wasn’t soooooooo freaking rude. Overhyped Overpriced

Grrrreat spot on the water. Hidden & out of the way, very low key and relaxed. Tasty bites include the chorizo, sausage and pita. Nice views of Manhattan, dog friendly. Grab some friends and a beer and watch the sun set over the city. Summer at its finest.

Where has Anable Basin been all my life? I visited this bar(and Long Island City) for the first time last weekend and am already planning my next trip back. It’s awesome. My friend and I came for post-dinner drinks on Friday night and were pleasantly surprised by how bustling but NOT crowded it was for such a beautiful, warm evening. There were people of all ages here, including a handful of young kids with their parents. It was a great scene. We ordered moscow mules at the bar and then easily found seats at the end of an already-occupied picnic table; the willingness to share tables definitely added to the relaxed vibe. My friend and I had a wonderful time admiring the Manhattan skyline and breeze while catching up in peace. Unfortunately our drinks weren’t great(made with bottled lime juice, which definitely does not taste as good as fresh lime juice!) and the bartender was strange and giggly, but that didn’t diminish our experience overall. I’ll probably stick to wine or beer when I return though. Highly recommend for group gatherings and dates.

Grab a beer, sit down at a picnic table and enjoy the views of the East River, Roosevelt Island and the Manhattan skyline. If you don’t like crowds, then this is your place since it’s low key and hidden in a desolate industrial area. Cocktails seemed overpriced for the tiny clear cup that they are served in.

My friend and I had just left a Unilocal event in LIC that were late too and missed all the food, LOL. It was a beautiful summer night so we just hung around the neighborhood trying to figure out where we going to eat. I am not sure how we found out about this spot but I think we saw the great reviews on Unilocal. It took us a while to figure out how to get there since we had already parked our cars and was just walking. After several turns we finally found this open area with gorgeous views packed with people eating at picnic tables and enjoying the live band. My favorite part of this spot were the picturesque views of NYC and the water. I remember checking out the menu and was a bit disappointed. There wasn’t a big selection of items and what they did have didn’t make my mouth water, dying to try something. I ordered the sausages that came with onions, bread and mustard which reminded me of a light snack. The meal I mean light snack was okay. They had a decent assortment of beer which didn’t tickle my fancy since I don’t drink beer. LOL Overall, this was a cool spot to check out as an after dinner spot to enjoy the weather, music and ambience. Definitely eat before you come.

This is the best kept secret of LIC, literally a hole in a fence. I live for summer days of outside drinking here, looking out at the skyline and Roosevelt island. The drinks are reasonably priced and the selection is good. The picnic tables offer the perfect level of class that your looking for while day drinking and eating barbecue. Would reccommend but also hope it doesn’t begin to get too crowded!

I was tempted to skip the review to keep it a secret as possible The food is not good. But you come here to have a beer and see the view. All of a sudden hours have gone by…

I love Anable Basin! Located right on the water, this place has got to be a hidden GEM of LIC as i never see this place frequented by many people when ever i grab a beer here. although a little hard to get to by public transportation, if you take the train be prepared to walk for about 15 – 20 minutes to get here. Just makes the journey all the more worth it at the end! They do have a few beer selections and a few food options you can purchase. There also is alot of space to run around as the place is pretty spacious. When ever I am in LIC i love coming here to kick back, watch the boats & the beautiful NYC backdrop.

Perfect way to unwind after work. Beautiful view and drinks and food. The city was crowded and seriously overbooked today. This place was just French lounge music and a place to talk with friends over drinks.

Off the beaten path, but definitely worth the trip. The view is fantastic and it’s a great place to sit and drink beers on a warm afternoon/evening. The setting deserves 5 stars, but I’ve taken off one for the food. I’ve been a few times and this Friday night was the first time we ordered food, which I don’t think I would do again. We waited a very long time(close to an hour) for a way overcooked sausage and burger. There was only one guy on the grill and he seemed completely overwhelmed. To be fair, I’m not sure if this is the norm, or was just an off night for them. CASHONLY. There’s an ATM on the premises but the fee was kind of steep.

Waterside tables with umbrellas, unleashed dogs(though rules require leashes), a stand with limited bar and food: picanha with yucca powder, kielbasa, chorizo, hamburgers, bratwurst, caipirinha, wine, beer, liquor. Some kids party on a Saturday. They were so free to roam, and mostly enclosed indoors, that they were not only not a bother, but a delight. On the verge of being ghastly hip. Otherwise super chill. Please don’t tell the Times. If you’re a writer, don’t write about it. Christ.

Hidden gem in a random warehouse section. My friend discovered this place after going to an event across the street. We went on a beautiful summer day and enjoyed good beers with an incredible view of the Manhattan skyline. They had some progressive house playing in the background that added to the atmosphere. It was a very relaxing and chill place. Looking forward to going again this summer. Also, when we went, they were setting up for a private event on the far side of the space. If you’re planning a party or even a less traditional wedding, it could be worth inquiring about. Nothing beats the view.

I came here after dining next door and really loved this cool vibe place. Amazing views of the NYC skyline, funky old music(anything from 50s to early 90s), very mellow space. You come in and in one end by the water they have picnic tables and at the other side a bar and food counter. It looks like its only cash so make sure you hit the ATM before coming here. I didn’t try the food since I wasn’t hungry but they seem to have regular stuff like burgers and such.
