Donation-​Based Rehearsals

Buskerville is a boutique music recording and rehearsal studio located in Long Island City, New York. The goal at it’s inception was to take a different look at the standard recording studio business, and instead create a space that was built under the idea of a mutually supportive music community where independent musicians and other music creatives could affordably find the time, space, resources, expertise and education to explore and grow in music creation.

History

Established in 2012.

As independent musicians ourselves, we saw a need in NYC for a place the could address the needs of musicians on a developmental level, while being affordable enough to be manageable by independent artists. Beyond the initial offering of low cost recording services, as a natural part of the recording process we often find ourselves in phases of recording projects that leave our tracking room unused. We realized that by making this unused time available for rehearsals on a donation basis, we could do a small part to address the need of independent artists in NYC for practice time and space in the most affordable way, and in the process encourage the growth of our music community.
