Erika made such a gorgeous cake for my sons 1^st birthday party. It was a last minute thing and I called her 5 days before the party. She was so sweet to squeeze us into her schedule. She even delivered the cake to the venue and her pricing was fair. Everyone raved at how beautiful the cake was, and it was delicious, too! Thanks so much Erika.

I ordered a beautiful pillow cake with a crown for my daughters birthday. I was beyond excited to celebrate her special day and I was told that the minimum price for a custom cake was $ 225. Although it seemed high, Erika assured me that it would serve 25 people, and I decided to take the plunge. While I communicated with her, things were great, and when it was time to pay she told me that there would be an additional charge bringing the cost up to $ 260 due to delivery.
I told her I don’t mind picking up the cake, but she insisted that she deliver it and charge her fee. When you insist that your cake be delivered, you really shouldn’t be tacking on an extra fee. But I told myself this would be worth it… She had great reviews so why worry?
Yesterday she arrived at the party and delivered the cake… From the backseat of her car… With no box…
I said nothing, because the cake was lovely and pretty much what I had asked for in terms of design. We all stood by in awe of the cake… Although it was tiny, it was beautiful. We sang and cut the cake, and that is where the disappointment seeped in. Not one person, including the kids, could even finish half of one slice. I kid you not, not one person. The adults took a bite, looking at each other, something’s wrong here… It was so incredibly dense it tasted like squished super heavy bread. Nothing sweet, nothing light, nothing cake like about it all.
I contacted her and told her that it was beautiful but I paid for a cake, not decorated bread… I told her she should refund a portion of the money. Of course she refused, told me she tried the shavings and they «didn’t taste bad», like all I wanted was a cake that didn’t taste bad…
I have her an extra star for the fact that it was beautifully decorated, but my warning is definitely have a taste before you order, save yourself the time and cost of having guests who won’t eat the cake.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Chic Sugars, and Erika! Erika is so sweet, and helpful. She has great communication skills with her customers. Erika kept me in the loop about every aspect of the process.
I had an idea of what I wanted for my son’s 4^th birthday, but I didn’t have a completely clear picture. Erika helped me sort out my ideas, and gave me plenty of options. Really fair price for the incredible 3 story cake we received. We received compliments from all of my son’s friends, and their parents alike! Great delivery service, she does everything herself! I found my new custom baker for sure! Can’t wait to start planning my son’s next birthday cake extravaganza!

I ordered a customized karate themed cake for my husband’s 30^th birthday. The cake was great! My husband was delighted and the Karate boy on top of the cake was awesome! Definitey captured my husband well. I had chocolate cake and two different fillings, cherry and Oreo. I actually preferred the cherry and only asked for a different filling because my friend said «no one gets cherry filling with chocolate cake». Never listening to her again! He thoroughly enjoyed the cake both visually and in his stomach, and so did the guests and I. There were many compliments on the cake and the night turned out perfectly! Erika’s price is very reasonable I received quotes from a couple of places and her price is pretty low for the amazing quality (moist cake, fresh filling). She only delivers, no store front, but the delivery fee is very low and she shows up IN PERSON to meet you and deliver the cake to you. I had her deliver it into the heart of Time Square and felt terrible because the traffic was an absolute nightmare. My cabbie was stuck and I panicked because if I couldn’t get there I figured she would have difficulty too. Everything turned out fine. She delivered, we ate and drink and the night was merry. Would definitely use her again in the future for my cake needs and highly recommend you try her out.

All I can say is wow! Erika went above and beyond for my sisters Bridal Shower cake. It was amazing and the focal point of the entire event. It was exactly how it was described and reasonably priced. We will be using chic sugars for many events to come!

Since our wedding, we have continued to work with Erika. She has NEVER disappointed me! My sister’s baby shower cake was so spot on with the ruffles and burlap, I was beyond impressed. Not only does she provide a sketch but she goes above and beyond the original design. My 30^th birthday cake was so specialized that I knew she created it specifically for me. Erika guided my husband in designing the cake that fit my personality. He said how she was so delightful and patient with him especially since he has never ordered this kind of cake on his own before. Mother’s day cupcakes with strawberry buttercream – OMG so good. As you can tell, Erika is definitely my fave!

Easily the most original and best cake maker I’ve ever come across. Waaaaaaaaaay better than Cake Boss at fraction of price.

Can you go wrong with so much candy. I think not. Come enjoy the selection. Great place to get your sugar fix.

I wanted to order a special customized cake for my husbands 30^th birthday dinner which was in the city. I found Chic Sugars on Unilocal,and Instagram and loved her cakes. I reached out to her to see if she could do a custom cake for me with specific designs on it. (All US Navy stuff) thankfully she said yes & that made me bounce off the walls for the day! Lol
Erika was such a pleasure to work with and the whole process was smooth and seamless. We confirmed everything via electronically and touched base with each other by email. Once the cake was delivered to the restaurant I received an email that it was delivered with the pics of the cake.
The cake came out exactly to the way I had imagined just stunning& perfect! The cake was absolutely delicious (chose carrot flavor) Everything was perfect and the cake surely was the center of attention all night! All my friends have been asking me all night for the company that made the cake. I will definitely be recommending Chic Sugars that’s for sure!
I can’t wait to have all my future cakes made by Erika. You are the best!!!

My wife and I recently celebrated our 5^th anniversary with a party. Around 35 people were going to be there, family and close friends. To commemorate the occasion, we wanted a two-​tier cake that lived up to our nerdiness, centered around some video game symbols and designs. I had been getting the run-​around from a larger bakery chain (after having made the reservation) about whether the cake would actually be ready in time, so I decided to call around and see if I could find a backup option. Fortunately for us, one of those calls was to Chic Sugars.
Shortly after another fruitless «I’ll see what I can find out» phone call with a manager from the aforementioned chain, Erika called me back. She spoke for all of 30 seconds, and what I heard was so reassuring, so ridiculously accurate to our vision for this cake that I immediately called back the manager I’d just spoken to and cancelled the old order. Erika and I spoke again a few hours later, got everything worked out in detail, and got the signing and billing done that night. Everything is done digitally, so I didn’t even need to leave the house! I left off that night having placed my trust in Erika to make this cake happen in four days.
It turned out that my trust was extremely well-​placed. The cake was on-​time, delivered personally by Erika herself. It looked absolutely perfect, and… I don’t think «delicious» is a vivid enough word. Her cakes need to be tasted to be believed. Everyone at the party was in awe of this cake.
To summarize: Delicious, affordable, prompt, professional. Seriously, check out the website, she is a true cake artist! Thanks again for making our anniversary the special event we were hoping for!

I’m finally here to write a long overdue review for Chic Sugars. I can’t say enough good things about Erika and what a great business owner she is. I reached out to her this last summer to ask for a price quote for a custom birthday cake for my husband. I sent her a picture of the soccer team jersey I wanted to recreate and received an email response within the hour. She and I then chatted the next day to iron out details and questions.
She uses electronic billing and contracts — and even sent payment reminders directly to my email — so easy! She confirmed the date for me the day before and even let me know when she got in the area — just so I knew to expect her. As she mentions on her website, she delivers the cake to your location personally.
Last but certainly not the least — the cake looked AMAZING, and my husband was so excited! I highly recommend using her for your event.

i was the receiver of an amazing 3 tier ‘yo gabba gabba’ birthday cake as a present, and it was AMAZING. it was just what i wanted/​described, it was DELICIOUS, the cookies and cream/​raspberry filling were perfect. i felt so bad cutting into muno, plex and brobee’s heads with a knife to eat them… but it was worth it.
everyone at my party was super impressed, and told me it was one of the best cakes they ever had. droolicious. thank you SO much chic sugars!!!
